Follow along as we build a longbow out of Ironwood. From tree to bow, we will see all the steps as the bow is roughed out, shaped, tillered, and fire hardened.
Learn some lessons from God's Word as we go along that will encourage and help as we face trials and tribulations in this life!

I just searched up ironwood bow on youtube out of curiosity, not expecting to find such an amazing and meaningful commentary on the trials of being a Christian... As a Christian who has just received Jesus very recently this video comes to me as a sign from the Lord to deepen my faith... amen ☦ love the flintlock hunting bit at the beginning too! awesome

Such an appropriate word for every one of us. You know, the heat really does reveal what’s on the inside of us. Really enjoyed seeing that bow take life. My first bow ever was made out of Ironwood the Musclewood variety. I’ve never worked the Hophornbeam variety into a bow. Ironwood is some really special stuff. Love your D bow design! Take care! Ben

Great Video sir....as a fellow pastor you know that it is hard for us to be fed because we are taking care of our churches. I miss being able to listen to other's as they share the Word. Always look forward to you videos. Keep it up sir.

Thank you! I hunted quite a bit with it this season but never scored a good hit with it. It may be a tad heavy for me actually, so I may take some material off before hunting with it again. Thanks for the encouragement, God bless!

Greetings Brother! A fellow believer and selfbowyer... Hop Hornbeam is *exceptional* when fire hardened. Better than Hickory even, in my experience. Love the biblical metaphor, very timely and apt in my walk. Lord bless you!

@mikeseeley1042 Hello brother! Thanks so much for the encouragement, I am very happy with the fire-hardened Hornbeam. I think the next bow I make, though I will try to fire harden longer. This one has started to take a bit of set, not too bad but enough. How is your walk with the Lord, right now my friend? Is there anyway I can pray for you or be an encouragement? God bless!

@@primitivepreacher8964 Every cook is a learning experience...some of my Hickory bows have blown up. But even "finished" HHB bows can be put over the coals again, though one must be careful given the thinner/already-shooting dimensions. Thank you for asking! I'm struggling to find my identity is Christ alone. I'd greatly appreciate your prayers! Col 3:1-4...I need to live it! If I can pray for you in any way, let me know too Brother!

@mikeseeley1041 No doubt! I am very much still learning at every stage of the process. I may try cooking this bow again if I get the chance. Absolute brother, definitely a point of struggle for all of us at some time or another! I need to regularly be reminded of Hebrews 12:1-2. Every day, I need to refocus on Christ, the author, and the finisher of our faith. Thank you, brother. I would really just appreciate prayers for wisdom and the courage to obey God in all circumstances. God bless!

@Serbian_Tactical Thank you, God bless you too! Yes, this is a style you could use with really any good bow wood. Some woods that would work well are Osage, Yew, Hickory, Birch, Elm, Maple, and a lot more... Happy bow making!
