I feel like it's a personal loss. He represented us, a common man, on screen. I saw a bit of myself in him. Nobody else fills this gap. Maybe after some years when people will be completely switched to content based movies, Irrfan will be remembered as a pioneer who excelled before we were ready for him.

I still remember after watching Pan Singh Tomar I was shaken for 2-3 days. That is the level of performance of Irfan Sir. Being an avid movie watcher I can confirm very few actors have 'that' effect on you. Irfan sir could deliver dialogues with his eye. If he was in Hollywood he would have had multiple Oscars by now. Easily. Tom Hanks, Daniel Day Lewis, Jim carrey, Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, De caprio, M mcconaughey, Etc.. That is the league Irfan sir belonged to. PS. Don't mean to belittle any Indian actors.

His performance in "Life in Metro" was most underrated I feel , he was superb in that.

And when something like this happens, nobody around you gets why you are any more sad than they are, after all, it's just an actor right? 1000s die every day. But Namesake, Life in a Metro, Piku, Lunchbox, Chocolate, D Day, and all those performances have already created a loved one for you, it's just hard. Books are better, as those characters were never born in real life but just in our minds, and there they live forever. It's just a very sad day, will truly miss him a lot. A gem of an actor

I first saw Life In A Metro and was so much in awe in his talent.. Followed by Billu, The Lunchbox, D-Day, Piku, Jazbaa, Hindi Medium... I haven't seen the sequel of HM but intend to.. It was his last movie.. Please do give him a posthumously award as a best actor to him if possible.. But I really wish that he would have still been alive here among us today.. To give us more of his fabulous work to remember him for more years and time to come.. We all have lost one of the amazing gemlike actor...
