I’d consider myself lucky anytime u can have mains, Backflow, and valve boxes as far away from foundation as possible. A wire break is very rare but pressurized water breaks next to foundations is common and in my opinion should not be considered up to code if u live in an area with crawl spaces. U can also switch to battery powered valves for each valve if a wire was ever cut. Having done sprinklers for 30 years, hands on worker ( not a boss that checks on the crew but I do it), electrical problems are almost always a solenoid or wire connection under the green lid, or a broken clock. Very rarely is a wire randomly broke or cut in between the valve and clock and there are ways to trace it anyhow. An even decent installer should install with extra wires so Homeowner can add zones later. If a wire happens to go bad, u can use one of the day straight wires in any of the green lids where you’re valves were and switch it at valve and clock so that it works. I watch these channels to get away from sprinklers but I couldn’t resist. U r doing great. Nothing wrong with doing what u r doing and I install it m next to foundation. I do suggest keeping it away from houses. Just opinions. Have fun. I wish I was in the area I’d help u do it all as I really enjoy your channel. Thx!!! Best of luck
