Here is our conversation with a scammer. Beware that you should never give our your personal information to someone you don't know over the phone. To learn more about scams, visit bbb/org/scamtips
@Dan McDonald Wrong fella. They may have an office here but they can only do anything with the consent of the Australian government or federal police.. It would be like saying ASIO has authority in the US of A. Not gonna happen
I think that agent was fired from the "IRS" shortly thereafter and was subsequently employed by Microsoft because got a call from the same woman claiming they detected a serious problem with my Windows computer.
A friend of mine got one while we were at a restaurant last week and he's been on SS disability benefits for 12 years. He doesn't pay taxes, so it was a fail for them !
As a hard working honest Indian i feel ashamed that so many americans are being cheated by scammers from our country. I wish our govt was doing something to crack down on these fake call centres. I love those youtubers who prank these scammers but i must say i loved how u handled them with logic and facts.
Tamal Chakraborty Don't worry about it Tamal. We can't control everything our races do. I'm 100% Caucasian and there are issues with all races. I too hope that these scammers and fake call centers are shut down.
It's all laughs and giggles now but 45 minutes later the BBB was stormed by the IRS. Seriously though, you probably saved someone by using up the scammers time. Well done.
I love the scammers. I mess with them all the time. Ask really stupid questions, and pretend I don't get it. Then ask the same question in different ways, until they get mad. Then ask for their manger. And complain that the first person was verbally abusive and unprofessional. Neglecting their issue for the scam call. And treating them with lawsuit. They usually get irate at this point, and cuss me out and tell me the police are coming to arrest me. At this point. I tell them to bring it on, that I am armed to the tooth and am ready for a gun fight, Bring it on!! They hang up immediately. And typically don't call back. I love the scammers. Can you imagine what they are thinking after that call.
@@michaelgrace1298 no, I get a lot of "You've had a car accident recently..." phone scams. They want your personal details to send you a large compensation cheque...ID theft is the biggest crime in the UK.
My friend got a scam call from the IRS she played along and when it was time to give her checking account number she said it was 666 next thing she heard was a click. LOL
I got a scam call I told them my social security number only had one digit. It was 5. He said no . Social Security numbers have 9 digets. I said true but mine is but one. 5. 555-55_5555. LOL
Last time i got one of those calls, after they said how much i owed, i asked them where i worked. Their answer? "We can't see that, we're just the IRS, sir." So when i mentioned the fact that they "looked over all my paperwork", which included copies of my W2 that says my company i work for.... they hung up pretty fast after that.
The IRS will never call you on the phone. They also will never send you an email. The IRS will only send you notices and correspondence through the U.S. mail.
Seems like every scammer has a heavy accent. I usually can't understand what there saying but I did get this scam. And I was told I was going to arrested and of course they never came . but I can see how this could be very stressful for an elderly person.
They told me if I didn't pay I would be arrested within the hour so I asked them "Does that mean I don't have to do my chores?" I then yelled into the empty house "Hey Mum, I'm getting arrested. Sorry, I won't be able to do my chores". They hung up.
"Is there any way for me to just pay it?" "No, you can deal with the officers. Bye." ......now....I'm not exactly a professional scammer but I think she needs to reevaluate her career choices
It's actually a career there! I've seen a few documentaries about it and it's an actual company that pretends to be another company, they have scripts they follow and there are multiple people there doing this same thing all day.
IRS: Arresting officers will be there in about 45 mins. Me: Oh, that's nice. I can pull some little cakes out of the freezer and make a pot of tea. We'll have a few laughs, I'll show photos of my adorable g. kids...
You want to get them mad, ask a lot of questions. You either get cussed out, threatened, or hung up on. Note the beating around the bush by the caller instead of being able to provide any actual details.
Every city or state has their own its branch they do not have to be out of anywhere and honestly they can be from where ever BUT THEY WILL NEVER EVER CALL YOU THEY MAIL EVERYTHING NEVER CALL!!!!
I got a call from the "IRS" the day after I listened to a few of these videos. I already knew how these calls went but it was really fun getting a call when I was up for some fun. I tried to have it drag on as long as i could but the connection was terrible so she decided to text me instead. "This is Officer Daisy William from the Soci Security Administration. Hello are you there?" I never responded but of course it saved for another day. Funny how she didn't know my name but knew my Soci Security info. 😄
I got the same crap, but it was the DEA saying I had friends associated with drug trafficking. I, luckily, have seen videos like this. I played the game, and after about half an hour, I finally just told them "I want to get arrested. I would get three meals a day, and not have to deal with my wife. Please come and get me." They hung up immediately.
The trick is to ask them questions. When they call, ask them for the full name of the person they're calling for. Ask for the address they have on file. Here ask them what total they calculated is, and the amount they have that you calculated. Their story will fall apart. They depend on you giving them information (never give any). It's funny to do this.
They did arrest a whole bunch of these people tied to this scam. Then others just restarted it again sometimes with a little different spin on the same scam
The fine for being caught with this scam in India is $200.A court case may happen in twelve years, where an additional penalty of $100 is imposed. Then the ones caught , all of them start their own IRS scams.
i dunno why they can't get these scammers.I, out of curiosity, wondering how far stupid will go,allowed a woman to think she was scamming me for months.Just to fuck with her and see the distance these idiots would go. We chatted for weeks about her coming to rent a room in my house. We were gonna be besties (eww)blah blah blah. Okay she wanted to have her car and belonging delivered before she would arrive. Sooo she would send me a 20'000 check from her last employer I would deposit in MY checking account pay the shipping bills and then send her the balance for traveling. I couldnt believe how stupid she thought I was. She sent the check and when she contacted me next , I said Gotcha I'm keeping it all.Well she vanished, but the funny thing Bank Of America did'nt even care. They didn'''''''t even want the check....No one is even trying
i keep getting call from the " IRS " , lol i live in canada , i keep the guy going playing dumb , he calls every 2 weeks , at 1 point he said , look out side , i said ok , you see that van , yes i said , well thats the police going to arrest you , lol i live on farm , no van , i said ok ill just go talk to them i dont want to go to jail, he freeaked out , no no no , i laughed and hung up
If any one claiming to be from any govnment what ever,, if someone claims to be helping you , make it easy , or just trying to help,,,, it's not from any government or corporate entity,,,, it simply dosnt work that way in the real world,,,, one ,,no matter who you are must take it upon ones self,,,, or if a government entity wants to talk to you you will have no doubt,, cuz they don't simply call ya up on the phone 🤣🤣🤣
When these IRS "agents" tell me their name is "Matt Wilson" in a thick Indian accent I tell them my name is "Mahatma Gandhi" in a thick southern drawl.
Excellent idea . The problem is that most people are too stupid to turn this into a phone sex conversation and have some fun bcoz they actually think that the scammers are real IRS officers .
They will call you. But only AFTER you have made a agreement to pay or some type of payment plan. They mail you 2 notices. After that they just put leins on your bank accounts etc.
That's not true, the IRS will call but when they call it's after you've already received a letter and they tell you to follow the instructions in the letter or to go to your local IRS department and ask them how to resolve the issue. The IRS never asks for personal info and never tries to get you to pay over the phone
Actually they do. A few years back I was called by a special agent of the IRS to let me know that I was under investigation. Sure, he had a thick indian accent, and sure, he wanted me to pay a substantial settlement to avoid prosecution, but I'm pretty sure he was legit.
@@daveaf3023 What you suggested is the only thing that makes sense. Lol. That would be awesome pay back with the glitter bomb! I'll have to search those videos.
I had an arrest warrant for the same too. I am waiting for the cops to arrive at my house for more than 4 years. I am not sure if I should wait a little more.
Oh God I love it when they call me. I spend as much time as I can and play stupid till they start screaming at me. Honestly, I just had one yesterday. Made my day.
That is definitely one of my favourite things to do when I’m stressed, to mess with them. Asking them to repeat themselves often, and call them a different name than they give you, ha, it’s great! Asking them to hold on while you look for a pen, then again for paper, and then for your glasses lol, plus taking a lonnng pause during the search, it’s honestly the best stress reliever 😂. It is crazy what they will actually endure to get people’s hard earned money.
My one and only call I ever got one year ago: "Hello, this is Microsoft support!" "But I have a Mac" "No problem, we deal with all computers!" I kept him on for like 5 minutes, but I lost it when I was asking him questions like "How do I turn on computer" and he kept on :D
I once got a call from them claiming I owed thousands of dollars to the IRS and if I don't pay it within one hour the Sherriff's office would be at my door. I wished him the best of luck getting his Sherrif across the Canadian border.
If you really want to drive them nuts, just say, over and over, “I can’t understand you. Your accent is to heavy. Do you have an agent who speaks English?”
I do this all the time 🤣. I say, “I can’t understand you”, “do you have anyone else that could speak English “? 😂😂😂. One guy told me “but I was born in Texas 🤣. I said, “it doesn’t matter where you were born, I still can’t understand you “ 🤣.
I called those people back so many times they blocked my number. Then I switched phones and called again. They begged me to stop calling them. Then I posted the number on Facebook and invited my 350 friends to call. Within 24 hours that number was no longer working. I love messing with scammers. It gives me such joy. 😁
One time when I had a tax Scammer call me and he threatened I would go to jail if I did not get the gift cards to pay him I told him he's too late. He asked me why. I told him I was in jail. He asked me why. I told him for tax evasion. He he hung up his phone on me! HA!
I got a call from them (IRS scammer) I couldn't stop laughing at him and he got mad and asked me why I was laughing at something so serious ? i told him, after I could get my breath back, I LIVE IN CANADA!
I kept getting a call that I have broken laws and that Washington DC Authorities want me arrested if I don’t pay the legal fines.I busted out laughing and asked will I be put on America’s most wanted 🤷♂️😂😆🤣
In 2018, I got a call and I answered "Raleigh police department." The caller said "You're not the police. This is a cellphone." I said "You're a scammer. So what?" They hung up.
I recently called the"IRS" back. The lady asked for my name. I told her it's Freddy Krueger. She continued to give me the usual IRS scam script. I then said I want to make sure my info shows that I still live on Elm Street. She actually said that it does!!! She then connected me to "Officer Sam Peter", who talked and talked for about 15 minutes. I eventually said: You know, Freddy Krueger is actually a movie character! Are you scammers so dumb that you don't even know that??!!?? How does it feel to get scammed, scammer???" Mysteriously, he abruptly ended the call!!! 😊 Well...that's at least 20 min out of their day to hopefully save at least one person from getting scammed. Plus...it gave me a good laugh...lol!!! Forgot to add that I told both of them that living on Elm Street is a nightmare!!! LOL
I would recommend not to do that and just hang up on them. My brother used to mess with them like that in a similar fashion. Eventually one of them got him back by hooking his phone up to one of their calling devices or software deals and he then started getting 100's of calls/texts all day every day & he was forced to get a new number....
An IRS scammer called my teacher in the middle of class and she answered it and put it on speaker and after they said they worked for the IRS my teacher told them she worked for the IRS too and they hung up lmao
And they go straight to filing an arrest warrant before even speaking to a person about what may have happened. No details about the error. The IRS would send a certified letter. They would never call you, much less from a call center in India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh..
And second, they don't answer directly when you call the IRS. It's all automated before you get to a rep. IRS/SSI scammers get mad and hang up on me when I say, "Wow! Since when do people get through so quickly?! No buttons to press???"
My poor aunt who divorced her husband and he owed the irs several hundred thousand dollars. She received a call from these ppl. She was hysterical thinking she’s going to prison for debts her ex husband owed. I had to explain it was a scam. Attempting to fear ppl by deception isn’t cool.
I noticed that, too. I was going to make a comment about it, until I saw yours. If she's going to scam people, she needs to rehearse her lines, phrases, and words more, and get a better grasp on how Americans say and do things over here.
The IRS will NEVER call. The IRS will NEVER e-mail; or use any other form of electronic communication. In the US, you can not be imprisoned or arrested for failure to properly pay your taxes. For proven scamming, yes, but not unless the IRS has clear and solid evidence. In these cases, they DON'T give you a heads up. The IRS does not want and will NEVER ask for your bank, credit card, debit card info. And, finally, if anyone from 'the IRS' asks you to pay your back taxes in Wal*Mart (or other international retailer) gift cards, they are NOT the IRS.
I work for the IRS. We used to call before sending out an audit letter to let someone know it was coming in the mail. Because of the scams we now only initially contact people by mail. It slows the audit process down.
I had a call from scammers.I said that the person was dead, then “Hang on,he’s still moving!” A loud bang then “Ok,he’s definitely dead now.Can ‘I’ help you?
I got a call from the "IRS" scammers... I toyed with them for awhile, then I continued to call them repeatedly... they threatened to call the police on me... I told them.. I am the police, which I am, they never called me again.
the thing is some of them know we know they’re scammers. but it doesn’t register in their thick heads. and they just plod on. its like you put your hand into a snakes housing and get bit but you don’t learn and then you keep on doing it for god knows why.
That's what happened to my friend, and her cell phone showed it coming from his cell phone, the husbands, interesting how they can fake phone numbers, you call back, it's out of service or its your own number, or email etc. I don't understand why they cannot play dumb and go trap these people when they try to collect
I have gotten these calls, as well as scam calls from "Microsoft Tech Support". I love to just keep asking questions that force them off script, you have the most fun that way!
My Dad got a call from Microsoft Tech Support my Mom was laughing so hard at the questions he was asking I just knew they were going to hang up but they just kept trying to get information out of him. He finally started laughing and told him I don't even have a computer you stupid (Bad Word) and told him to stick it you know where. LOL
My mother-in-law got a call from the "IRS" about missing payments, They left her a message so she called them back. She already knew it was a scam , So she just messed with them. Finally she pissed a guy off so bad , He went WAY off script and told her he was going to fuck her ass. So she repeatedly told him the same thing, He hung up so she kept calling him back. It was hilarious! She never did get another call from the "IRS".
Prank calling these guys is great! Not only is it fun as heck, it's also for a good cause - while you're wasting their time talking with you, they could have instead spent that time scamming others! Great video!
MarkG......when you get their phone #s, post them on here so you tubers can call them to order take out chinese food, to ask if their dry cleaning is ready, make doctor appointments, just mess with them & tie up their lines.....
In the UK, I’d been sending details of my unearned income (income from investments), which is paid untaxed, to HMRC for several years. It came about that I reckoned I’d been paying too much tax and I put in a claim for a refund. To negotiate this, I had to phone them at a pre-arranged time for a complicated interview. With my computer up and running, I was ready with the answers to any questions which would be asked to confirm information I had already submitted. Then I was almost knocked out when the interviewer named an account I had and gave it’s correct number, asking what I had earned from it; when I had not yet informed them of this one due to the fact it hadn’t paid any interest yet.
the question I would ask is why are they calling me if the agents are 45 mins away. so I guess she's calling to give me the option to start running and get a pretty decent head start??
