It’s Dr Finkel, not Mr. He has a PhD in Assyriology from the University of Birmingham. Yer, I had never seen that word before today either.

Why do all us antiquarian humanists - those with at least one humanities degree and a persistent interest in ancient languages or history - fall for FP? I'm a Classics major/ex-Arabist who's read a significant part of the Greek corpus (not to mention plenty of Classical Arabic literature and Hebrew too). I got so frustrated with procedural programming in Python that I wrote an FP that compiled into Python. Out of sheer rage at tedious programming.
