After watching IRyS for so long, I can say for certain that her yabainess is caused mostly by her voice. Just listen to how she says the exact same thing compared to other holomems lol, IRyS always talks in a flirtatious/suggestive tone.
She does. She's very ojou (the seductive type of ojou) in both her speech and her movements. Look at the way she moves and speaks in other member's shorts.
Yabairys is so hilarious because most of the time, you're thinking, "There's no way she's not doing this on purpose." But because she exhibits a degree of naivety, you can believe it. Edit: Yes, naivety, not nativity. I even put it in manually but didn't double-check before hitting enter. Thanks, auto-correct.
@@TheBardorp clearly not because they already added to the Jesus lore that he is a huge Santa Stan. Jesus is a Stanta you might say. IRyS on the other hand is a Santa hater, so they’re on opposite ends of the Santa spectrum. I certainly hope I did not coin the term “Stanta” for a hardcore Santa fan.
@@JPNEETozaki This is absolutely not true, girls are people. And people do not know what they're doing like, a whole heck of a lot of the time. I sure don't.
@@JPNEETozaki You must not interact with many then. These kinda slip-ups really only happen with girls that think about perverse stuff often before talking to someone. They won’t notice until someone points it out.
In terms of raw yabainess Shiori, Nerissa and Kiara are at the top, but there's some quality in IRyS' voice and personality that makes her take the spotlight
Because Shiori, Nerissa, Kiara, Matsuri, Marine, are all yabai intentionally ... Which mean we can see when they're going yabai mode and when's not ... But Irys is half demon half angel ... She's being yabai unintentionally ... So even if we know she will do something yabai today, we still unsure when will that happen ...
But with Nerissa and Kiara you absolutely know when they are intentionally being yabai. Shiori often starts by drifting there from something said unintentionally and it devolves quickly as she realizes and just goes headlong into the yabai. With IRyS you just don't know.
It's because most of the time it's on accident. She has a very unique relationship with the English language, her vocabulary and word choice is just a little different.
Shiori is completely unhinged, she knows what she's doing and doesn't care, she says the craziest stuff. Nerissa is playing it up, and Kiara looks tame in comparison. IRyS just doesn't know all the English innuendos and thus says says yabai stuff
Not gonna lie, her flirtatious and suggestive voice is a big reason for some of those misunderstandings lol It’s also one of the reasons I’m a member 😅
I hope she doesnt take this too much to heart. Like if you pour milk into coffee it makes it a milky coffee and even tho its just a small portion it still gets the name. That doesnt make it not coffee anymore and at the end of the day its just part of her personality that got its own name, shes still IRyS at the end oft he day
Yabairys is a package deal with Irys. It can come in the form of Seisorys not realizing it’s Yabai or Irys intentionlly making it Yabai. Trying to avoid her, running from her, hiding from her, Yabairys arrives all the same…
Honestly, what's actually probably happening is she's been in Japan so long she's picked up more of a Japanese mindset so that when she speaks in English she doesn't think about what the English innuendos are right away 'cause, yeah, there are times when she's being yabai on purpose but it really does seem like she just walks into it without thinking about it most of the time.
YabaIRyS will happen. It is simply a matter of fact. The debate is how much is intentional and how much is accidental. Regardless, she is always a cute Half-Angel Half-Demon with a lovely voice.
To be fair, she wasn't the one who started talking about characters' OP-ness in that stream with Kronii. ... She just instantly jumped on it with the eagerness of a lion jumping on a freshly killed gazelle. :)
I've mentioned it plenty of times previously, but generally speaking, IRyS doesn't seem to be deliberately commenting in questionable fashion (she legitimately seems to be more of a sheltered girl that just adopts things she hears without fully realizing what they actually mean). That's not to say she fully doesn't engage in some baiting of chat/audience with some amusingly off-kilter ways, but generally, she seems to mostly either be stumbling into misuse of slang, or phrasing her observations in awkward fashion(I suspect some of it may be down to spending enough time in Japan and culturally decoupling from her otherwise native proficiency with the language). As someone who's spent a good amount of time outside of a native English speaking environment, you tend to not really notice how much is sapped from your lexicon until you are either conversing in that native environment, or are otherwise struggling to recall words that may otherwise have leapt off the tip of your tongue(made worst when English isn't your first language, further complicated when you've since learned another 2-3 other languages after leaving your fellow English speakers... )
being yabai is not a bad thing (at least for me), and sometimes it's a plus 🤣🤣🤣 but if she's not comfortable with it please tell us so that we can hold back on that aspect too. after all, we only wish all the best for her 🥰🥰🥰
According to an unofficial book of the Bible, where the story of the Nephilim comes from, they were created from lust of Angels towards human women So, by being born from Lust, makes sense that the Nephilim are kinda "yabai" by nature; specially if we're talking about a Half-Angel, Half-Demon in particular
I think its all fun and games as long as she does not take it to heart, i love yabairys because i know im the one whose mind is in the gutter and that she isnt. Thats why its fun to watch chat react and she react. If she forced it. I think we all will know it.
It's kinda because she has that "homeschool" energy if you know what I mean. She is oblivious to a lot of memes and popular culture, doesn't get nuances a lot of times, and all of her hobbies are "alone" hobbies such as binge watching some obscure anime. Which is very common for a child from a family that has a multi-national background and probably moved around different countries during school years. So her being oblivious to yabai things is understandable and funny at the same time.
She was raised in the USA and attended American high school and probably college before moving to Japan. She mentioned college a couple times her first year. Her slang knowledge for America is cut off at around the 2014 timeframe. Her hobbies could be due the fact that she’s a bit introverted and enjoys gaming.
@@guromaiden2026 Where is it mentioned that she’s from Hawaii? I’ve never heard her mention anything an islander would say. She sounds like she’s from California.
I honestly don't think Irys realizes just how yabai she sounds. Most of HoloEN has a natural filter so that they are careful around certain words. The "fingers, balls, tongue" quote is a perfect example, most of her Holomates would just naturally avoid ALL of those words in ANY context. So Irys lacks the filters that others have, not in terms of being that lewd, but she just barges right into yabai topics without a second thought.
IRyS has a randomly activating and often reactive ChatBot feature that blurts things out with little to no filtering in effect. If there was a picture under the urban dictionary term "not like other girls", it would be of her creepily smiling face, hearts in her eyes.
It isn't even really a funny example of being "yabai," but I'll never forget how during the CouncilRyS Host Club stream she called herself a "keyboard autist." In this day and age that's the kind of stuff that'll get people actually upset at you, and because of that I'm convinced she isn't doing it as a joke. She's just actually ignorant of what is or isn't acceptable to say
My favourite YabaIrys example is Anime Figure. Sincerity of describing it without a wink and a nob, but innuendos and poor phrasing makes it sound suspicious at the least and "she's doing this on purpose" at best of times. I get worry Chat might take the joke too far (example is Kiara and "Bottom Left" or Ina'nis and her lewd tag) but it's nice to hear Irys cool with it. Hopefully it continues to be hearted joke and not hammer chat beats into the ground spoiling it's usage.
People don't get to choose the impression they leave on others. IRyS says some out of pocket stuff pretty often and people take notice. She's gotta live with that
I wholeheartedely believe IRyS (mostly) does not mean the things she says, and sometimes chat exaggerates it. And it's also the fact that at this point, anything can be an innuendo... But every now and then some sentences sound too yabe, and we can all get a good laugh out of it. If anything it being unintentional makes it funnier.
