Lettered drill bits are generally used by machinists- the sizes are in decimals measured in 1000th of an inch. There are charts that show what each letter equals in decimal equivalents. F = 0.2570 or just a shade over 1/4 inch for us regular guys. 🤓

The drill bits used by machinest are done in number higher the number Smaller the bit. The lower number is bigger after reaching 1 you go to letters than double letters.
