I just went through the same dilemma. Coming from a 68" KRX which felt "tubby" on the trails, I was thinking I wanted narrower since I ride Hatfield Trails mostly and Michigan trails which are wider. But the KRX suspension is so plush I knew the 64" wouldnt ride nearly as well. That being said I went 2022 DS RR. Not as smooth but more way more nimble and on HMT there are a lot of tight switch backs where a 72" wide is just a bit much IMO. Coming from a KRX this thing is a rocket ship. Just got it and have about 600 miles on it so far. Already pretty much shredded the back tires!!! Zero issues and all smiles. Maybe I'll go 72" someday for riding the dunes here in Michigan but mostly I am a tight trail guy and that probably wont change. Still ride my dirt bike and just hit the big 60! Not slowing down for shit.
You mentioned the suspension where your smart shocks are a 3.0 the other side by side also has much less travel and the rear doesn’t even have remote reservoirs. Huge difference just right there. I was doing a complete build and had to decide between the two and that’s one of the main reasons I paid more to do the XRC.
The DS is fine. Plenty of power plenty of wheel travel to still put a smile on your face. Up to you if you want to spend the extra 10k right off the bat.
You are probably making the guy on the red can am feel like crap for not getting the 35000 dollar version. He just standing there not saying anything. Lol. I would be so so so happy just to have a side by side of any kind
Thanks for the vid. It was hard finding a comparison video between the DS and RS. I was leaning toward the RS but I think I'll check out the DS first. I bought a Segway Villain last Sept, which is basically a copy of the Can-AM X3. Unfortunately it caught fire and got wrote off. I need a better machine, with parts and service available here in Alberta (and Arizona in the winters). So far Polaris and Can-Am are the choices. Got to drive the RZR XP Pro, really nice. Hoping to be able to try out an X3 soon. Thanks again!!🙂
I have a 2022 X3 rs so its like between those two models (same 72 inch width, but without smart shocks), the shocks have that manual knob to turn on them to one of their 3 settings. If he is getting thrown around I'm pretty sure he could change it to the '1' setting for a smoother ride, but switch them to 3 if you are jumping. I'm pretty sure that is how they work, I've only had mine for a couple weeks though so I am doing a lot of guessing.
@@upnorthlewmi I do film snowmobiling videos with our GoPro hero 9 but I do that so I can look back on the memories and to show people all of the places I have went but I never took the time to upload them to social media but thanks for the imput
I prefer the non smart shock over smart shock because with the smart shock you can get used to your suspension and learn it so it’s not predictable because with the smart shocks it’s changing to what best for a smooth ride but for performance non smart shocks are better in my opinion
Really like my 2021 can am maverick x3 max turbo ds it's does great setup for a 5 seater, does awsome for adventures 😅 as im not in need to race or be Mr fast guy as I just enjoy the outdoors and my machine has never let me down thankfully
I am 10 and I’ve drove my dad‘s side-by-side maverick four seater and it’s a RS. I’m pretty sure RR turbo and eat is the most funnest thing I’ve ever had and I’m a go for it or rs in the future.
Having owned 2 RZRs, a KRX, and 2 X3s, I would say an XRS or XRC 72" is definitely worth the money. We all have nice capable trucks here but we're not going to bang them off the rocks and hills
I like both, but I have to say for the same money I could get something more versatile. Like a good used Ford Raptor or a Ram Power Wagon. If I had unlimited money, both. Lol Really enjoy the videos, keep it up bud.
I am more of a mnt. trail rider so I went for a rmax 1000 2 because of the storage ability and the ability to do a lot more of a build then most buggies . just a different type of ride interest but I do enjoy your videos
No freaking SXS should be worth $35,000 unless it's a full on race build. Prices for these things are just silly now. 40K out the door price tag for some models and then a $100,000 truck to haul it with.
That's why I paid less then half that for my 4 seater that had about 1k miles and never been on a woods trail or track. I haul it with my $1600 truck I bought 7 years ago. I don't much care if I ever 80mph over woops especially if a ball joint or tie rod decided to let go.
I have a 21 DS RR and love it. I would like to get the RS, but we have really tight trails where i ride the majority of the time. The big park we go to the most has wider trails but they have a 25MPH speed limit. On these tight trails I just wiggle through, where my buddies bounce off trees alot. Now I will say we do a lot of crawling aswell, for that I would like the RS but my DS does fine. Oh the big thing people don't talk is the tire size difference. The biggest I could possibly go with my skids is a 31ish. With the RS I seen 33s to small 35s. That extra width helps stuffing bigger tires for sure.
Yeah man, the wide cars are awesome but you can have PLENTY of fun in a 64, i have a xp pro which i got for a smoking deal and its nice in the tight trails, they are all awesome machines at this point
@@marioeid930 you are not wrong. Each band definitely brings something to the table, forsure. I love the power my RR makes, but a RZR is better built out the box for here in MO, in my opinion. Coming from the jeep world to these SXSs, they are kinda mind blowing how capable they truly are.
@@ronniegray437 they are, ive done some crazy stuff in my rzr, there is learning curve to the limits. I was never a fan of the rzr until they came out with the xp line, they changed the game with that one. Been a dirtbike guy my whole life but when i drove one(and crashed my bike at the track😂) sold my bike a year later and go a rzr.
Polaris Pro/Turbo models suspension is way better, you can be doing 80 over whoops and not feel a thing. Oh and they don’t buck off jumps. But its all preference and it don’t matter what you ride as long as you ride
I’d consider it, main reason I wanted the xrs was for the color over the Rc, and I knew I wanted a different bumper, an was going to add an warm winch, plus the Rc I think is another 2k just to gain a winch and aluminum roof an rock mode
Definitely not worth 10k but hey, if you want to spend that much more for some extras, go ahead. They’re already priced way to high thus I always get the base models with highest hp. They do seem to hold value so far; probably gonna tank soon with this horrible economy and leadership from this nursing home patient at the helm.
None of them are worth the stupid prices these things are . I was a Polaris dealer in fact the largest Polaris dealership in the nation. You pay 30k plus for these things all brands and ride them a year and loose your ass on them . Around here people that bought these things and know that the economy is getting bad these things are getting repossessed like crazy . A lot of finance company’s are backing off on these sport sxs
Nope.. rather just go build a sand rail. Especially how fragile they are. It's BS that you have to throw all these reinforcements on them just so they don't taco. Also, smart shock and the standard are not a fair comparison.
Bruh This is the difference betwixt ignorance & those who know how build shi! Long chin talm bout 25k to do 80mph over whoops or rock crawling having spend 50k on Rubicon? $2500 build at best I’ll crawl over what your whippin or $25k or $30k on SXS to romp there again if I had xtra $30 bands to spend on one I wouldn’t as I’d rather build but that’s difference between those that do and those that can’t 😂
My plan was to sell the old one an buy the 22’ but I ended up totaling it, definitely wasn’t planned cause 10 staples and 5k in medical bills sucked ass
No. It’s not even close. People have short memories. I remember about 10 years ago when the baddest side-by-side on the planet was just over $20K. Prices of everything just keep going up. Regular people are being priced out of every market. Just struggling to keep a roof over their heads. What a fucked world we live in. Modern capitalism has done this…and it will only get worse. Either go into insane debt or live extremely modestly. I know people who make $60K/year and can’t afford a nice house. What a joke.
