We all love a good pickle with our sandwich or just to snack on. Half-sour, full-sour or a dill sphere, everyone has their favorite. But who are the people behind the pickle? JTA's Uri Fintzy visited the United Pickle factory in the Bronx and The Pickle Guys store in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and witnessed the pickling process, found out about the Jewish connection and revealed a secret about the actual "Kosherness" of the Kosher pickle.

I always thought that the use of the word "Kosher" was applied to pickles because Kosher salt was used in the brine to make them...oy vey, you learn something new everyday.

I was born and raised in New York City but I have since moved to California. I ALWAYS go to The Pickle Guys when I am home. I have since started pickling myself to get that taste of home. Nothing beats a good pickle!

Gus's pickles is not the same as it was years ago. When I was a kid they had the original Gus's pickles and they were fantastic, probably the best ever. The pickle guys now are the reigning champions today.

Guys pickles is no longer around in the city There's a lady that took over I think she's in Brooklyn or long Island now The pickle guys was a worker for guys pickles He back stacked guss pickles and opened his own store And now that's the only store that's still open in Manhattan today Fucking crook

P & D Outdoors the two guys were from different pickle companies. One uses machines and the other is hand made.

Kosher food is not blessed by a Rabbi. That is not what Kosher means.
