If it’s something you enjoy doing don’t ponder and worry too much about what’s worthwhile and financially advantageous. Kind of like the boats, fishing equipment, hunting gear and guided trips I’ve spent thousands on through the years. Been thinking about getting a mill since I watched you with yours. It’s obvious you love what you do brother so Brock on!!!!!

Great video sir! I love watching your videos. I have a Woodland Mills HM126 Woodlander and agree 100% with you about their products and customer service. They offer a quality product at an affordable price for sure. I do woodworking as a hobby and this was a way for me to get lumber and saw it the way I wanted. I have built a solar kiln and have my first load of lumber dry and ready to take out of the kiln. Like you I didn't realize how much fun I would have running the mill. I have been around chainsaws since I was a kid and enjoy running them but the sawmill takes that to a whole other level. I'm like a kid at Christmas when I cut into a log, it's exciting to see what is inside each log. Taking a log and turning it into something useful is very rewarding. That in itself makes the purchase of a portable mill worth it to me. Keep the videos coming, I love watching them!

Great video, glad you mentioned the extra money need for things like band saw blades, table saw blades, planner knives & jointer knives (& sharpening if available) Also fuel for the loaders etc, time it takes to air dry...again fantastic overall video!

Great video! I would agree - if you lived in a suburb, not beneficial to have a mill (having to buy/acquire the logs). "Luckily" we live on 35 acres of former National Forest in CO, so we have plenty of trees which I have to clear and burn today as they fall on our driveway/clearing for fire protection. Also we are an hour from the big box stores (each way) so, having my own mill is also a new hobby I'm looking forward too! Keep up the great videos!

Right now Woodland Mills has the Sharpener and setter combo for $798 with free shipping and that is $200 off plus the shipping savings and the power head is $250 off at $550 also with free shipping.

When we built our hunting camp we hired the portable mill to come in and cut per board foot

Do you mind sharing a ballpark of what you paid? Either per board foot or for the entire project

@@RockhillfarmYT maaan was 15 years ago !!! But I want to say 10-20 cent per board foot..mind you we had to stack it

And I believe things like 4x4 were 30-40 cents while the 1X what ever was the cheapest stuff

I'm thinking that if you like the milling process so much that you might want to make a solar wood kiln for drying the boards and that whole process. I think you would like it as most of your followers. Well just a thought

I definitely want to. Haven’t done my research yet on exactly how to do it.
