You do realize every man that has dated before would also be considered someone else's "leftovers" by your definition. Viewing people like this is utterly disgusting which makes you disgusting. If a dude is enmeshed with his mom he should not be dating in the first place. He should be seeking therapy and distance himself from his mother for however long it takes to fix his problematic relationship with his mother. That distance will help both him and his mother to reflect on their relationship and fix the problems in it.

For me, when someone does what is right for them, as in the case of a woman leaving a man who is not available, they are not being selfish. They are simply listening to themselves. The challenge is that due to the conditioning that someone has received, they can believe that putting others first is the right thing to do while putting themselves first is the wrong thing and is 'selfish'.
