Is Amble REALLY 'The Friendliest Port'? We take an amble about Amble
Before I started RU-vid, Amble was a firm favourite place to holiday for our family. We had the use of a static caravan and many a happy time was spent here. Amble might not be a typical picture postcard, Northumberland resort, but it does have plenty to see and do and is an excellent base to explore Northumberland.
Foodies have the choice of some great restaurants as well as plenty of other food outlets available.
Join us in this video as we explore the this port town, enjoy some food and share some of its history.

Andy, I enjoyed seeing the sights. It is wonderful that you shared this place with us. It holds so many fun memories for you. The food looked so good, and I loved watching the waves roll into the harbor. Cute harbor village 😊

@nationalparksprincess3216 Thanks for watching DL. It's a favourite spot for us, so many family holidays here. It's not far from Alnwick Castle, where they filmed Harry Potter or a trip up the coast to Lindisfarne, the Holy Island. There are hundreds of historic houses and castles in Northumberland, and the Scottish borders aren't far either.

A fantastic video around Amble, it looks very welcoming to be fair and loving the harbour village especially with those pods too! The sea is so calming to watch and enjoy, can see why you like it there. Ooo the Fish Shack looks great! Some reasonable prices! Amazing to hear how many birds and species are out there, bet you've got some amazing pictures! This was great Andy, thank you for sharing!

Always appreciate a nice feed of fish and chips...especially if its haddock!! Liking what I'm seeing around the area for sure, and really like how they have kept the pilings of what looks like an older pier in place...a great nod to the past! Looks like you had yourselves a wonderful wander around!

Been passed it numerous times before but never stopped before. God idea about the pods and fresh fish at the Fish Shack sounded like a good idea and (for me) yours won hands down. Cannot complain at £3 all day parking there but to be honest, I preferred the sea front to the high street, cheers Alan

Nice looking Harbour bit of everything there pretty looking area to visit. Fingers shack looked good nice big haddock. Long pier nice views 👌 The sea looked rough sad story RIP. Nice lighthouse and beach huts . Cute puffins 😅 Thanks for showing us around the shops etc . Good video, Andy 👍

Hi Andy we really need to adventure more up the Northumberland way! Amble looks nice! Food shack looks good but we agree with Mrs OutandAbout, there is nothing worse than faffing with you food in order to get it ate 😂 The is someone unfriendly in this port as they are decapitating seagulls and puffins😮 great tour of the high street, lots of change but good to see it all open! Cheers for the amble around Amble 👍

@PhilipOlsen11 Thanks, Phil. It's a good spot to tour Northumberland from. Plenty of great beaches and walks in the county for hikes, bike rides, and photography (and the roads aren't as bad as Cornish ones)

Yess andy nice walk around marra food did look OK to be fair but if them prawns were took out of the shell it would not have looked like much food at all they have obviously left them in the shell to make it look like a bigger bowl of food but I'm not a prawn man myself so like you I would have had fish chips and loads of butter bread hahaha amble is still a nice part of Northumberland agree not the best part but worth a visit all the same I've never been in that food place you were in here so one day will pay it a visit for some food nice one buddy good info on the wrecks too pal

Thanks for watching mate, just back from a week from Cornwall. Northumberland restaurant prices are very reasonable by comparison. I'm not one for shell fish either - fish and chips all the way!

Looks a lovely place does Amble, great video m8, while I'm here I've just watched your video about graffiti from a few weeks ago & although not everyone's cup of tea I thought it was brilliant, these guys & gals really can paint, I could look at it all day, so thanks for the videos Andy, hope your well & keep em coming 😁👍

Just going off on a tangent here Andy & feel a bit of a letdown to the photography world but I've just upgraded my phone to the Samsung S24 Ultra & the camera & it's settings are absolutely unbelievable & as I have my phone on me 24/7 I have decided to sell my Canon digital camera as I really don't need both & got a decent price for it, my passion for photography is still serious but this camera phone really is the dogs b******s Andy, hope I haven't let the side down but must admit I'm a happy bunny m8 👍

@andygore1149 I'm sure the top of the range s24 is pretty capable. I'm impressed with the image quality of my s22, although I do wish it had a long exposure capability (which yours should have). The other thing that is a miss with a phone is a decent zoom, they aren't great when you have to go for digital zoom to get the short you want. As most of us share the majority of photos via social media, a phone is more than capable these days and we always have it with us.
