Been passed it numerous times before but never stopped before. God idea about the pods and fresh fish at the Fish Shack sounded like a good idea and (for me) yours won hands down. Cannot complain at £3 all day parking there but to be honest, I preferred the sea front to the high street, cheers Alan

Yess andy nice walk around marra food did look OK to be fair but if them prawns were took out of the shell it would not have looked like much food at all they have obviously left them in the shell to make it look like a bigger bowl of food but I'm not a prawn man myself so like you I would have had fish chips and loads of butter bread hahaha amble is still a nice part of Northumberland agree not the best part but worth a visit all the same I've never been in that food place you were in here so one day will pay it a visit for some food nice one buddy good info on the wrecks too pal
Thanks for watching mate, just back from a week from Cornwall. Northumberland restaurant prices are very reasonable by comparison. I'm not one for shell fish either - fish and chips all the way!

Always appreciate a nice feed of fish and chips...especially if its haddock!! Liking what I'm seeing around the area for sure, and really like how they have kept the pilings of what looks like an older pier in place...a great nod to the past! Looks like you had yourselves a wonderful wander around!

Just going off on a tangent here Andy & feel a bit of a letdown to the photography world but I've just upgraded my phone to the Samsung S24 Ultra & the camera & it's settings are absolutely unbelievable & as I have my phone on me 24/7 I have decided to sell my Canon digital camera as I really don't need both & got a decent price for it, my passion for photography is still serious but this camera phone really is the dogs b******s Andy, hope I haven't let the side down but must admit I'm a happy bunny m8 👍
@andygore1149 I'm sure the top of the range s24 is pretty capable. I'm impressed with the image quality of my s22, although I do wish it had a long exposure capability (which yours should have). The other thing that is a miss with a phone is a decent zoom, they aren't great when you have to go for digital zoom to get the short you want. As most of us share the majority of photos via social media, a phone is more than capable these days and we always have it with us.
Hi Andy we really need to adventure more up the Northumberland way! Amble looks nice! Food shack looks good but we agree with Mrs OutandAbout, there is nothing worse than faffing with you food in order to get it ate 😂 The is someone unfriendly in this port as they are decapitating seagulls and puffins😮 great tour of the high street, lots of change but good to see it all open! @GENerationXplorers Thanks for watching, guys. Northumberland is most definitely worth a visit. There are plenty of costal path wanders and hikes in the hills, too.
Diane, we only spent a day there, but we did find a few bars and restaurants around the harbour area. We didn't have time to explore the north side of the bay, but I guess it figures there will be more there, too.

@nationalparksprincess3216 Thanks for watching DL. It's a favourite spot for us, so many family holidays here. It's not far from Alnwick Castle, where they filmed Harry Potter or a trip up the coast to Lindisfarne, the Holy Island. There are hundreds of historic houses and castles in Northumberland, and the Scottish borders aren't far either.

A fantastic video around Amble, it looks very welcoming to be fair and loving the harbour village especially with those pods too! We were surprised that there wasn't a kettle in the room. In the end, we didn't enquire as there were machines available to make hot drinks in the bars and in the ground floor lobby area.

Hi guys, thanks for watching. I went back on the Sunday, just to film the cars to put in the video (they were Sunday only). The red one is a Dutch post office van based on the old Daf 33 variomatic things that were popular in the late 60s/70s. Definitely shades of Postman Pat about it. No, I gave the climbing wall a miss, I don't have a good head for heights. We did try a wild boar hot dog thing off one of the stalls. It was alright, Mrs didn't like hers, though.

Good to see a thriving carnival still going strong today. When I was a kid we used to have a massive carnival every year as so many other towns and villages did, real shame most are dying out today. It looked really busy there and I particularly noticed the home make food stall - yum! makes you wonder where all these classic cars have been over the years and that Cobra sounded and looked insane. I quite like the Alpaca's, not that keen on the spitting Lama's mind and one for sure there, you would not go hungry, so many places to eat. Looked a good day out, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching Alan. Carnivals in small towns and villages seem to be few and far between these days. This one is co-organised by Eventsto gogo and Springboard, who look after the Lakes, and they seem to do a good job of it.
Now that looked like a great day out. Plenty of stalls to look round. And of course the vehicles. Some cool ones o. Show there. Like the Thames camper. Full of original kit too. The cobra was awesome. Not sure I would get in it tbh. An enjoyable watch mate. Although I will be copyrighting the use of my wandering phrases. 😂😂👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️
I must be watching too many of your videos if I've picked up your phrases....I can stop if you like 😀 I adlibbed the whole thing, so it must have slipped in! Yeah, the Thames is pretty nice, not sure I'd want to do the NC500 in it though but a perfect show piece. The Cobra replica is pretty cool, it's been around for a while now so the owner clearly takes care of it. I think I'd get in it, getting out in a dignified manner might be something else though. Cheers, Phil. The Orion has all the RS bits in it, so whilst not being a factory model, it was pretty much as close as you can get. It was a good little event, free too apart from the visits to the food stalls. 😉
Fantastic reclaimed greenspace!! That Thames camper van is wonderful...I'm sure there aren't many of them around and probably none here in Canada! Looks like there was a nice variety of vendors. Thought we'd at least see you give the panda a hug! lol A great day was had for sure!
Thanks, Bruce. The lakes are a fantastic asset to the town. I remember being a child, and it was an old mine waste heap, a complete eyesore. The Carnival was a free event, so great for families. The old Thames was a pretty little van, great for classic vehicle shows, but I think I'd want more creature comforts of a modern van for actual camping. Have a great week with Otis 🐕.

We have a similar ex colliery that’s now a nature reserve and family park Andy - a great place to visit and enjoy the activities - loved the Thames pop top camper ( and the period interior) altho I prefer mine for modern features and accessories! A lovely tour and a great day out 👍🏻
Hiya Andy, enjoyed the trip to Hetton Carnival, hehe, the 'ambitious climber' that made me chuckle haha! Really nice to see the crafts and the fun things to enjoy at the carnival and most importantly seeing people having a great time!! Awesome to see some of the vintage retro cars, the blue Vdub was excellent, would love to camp in that. What a fun time, thank you so much for bringing us along with you!
