I saw a photo that showed a seal inside the case of the 6S/6S+. What I'm wondering is if there is a difference in the water test between a fresh unit that hasn't been opened vs an opened version and wondering that seal needs to be replaced when the unit is opened to retain the same level of water resistance. Also, if you press hard on the unit while under water, it can leak water in the 3.5mm jack and around the screen that does cause damage, so by not trying to cause water to seep in while submerged, they seem a lot better in terms of water resistance.

I have the 6s right now before i hade the 6s plus but my first phone was a SE

i couldn't stand it. i was literally screaming at the screen. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ! those are new?! oml oml oml!"

Did all the functions continued working the hours and days after the test? I've an iPhone 6 Plus which I accidentally drown with a whole bottle of water when I was running, I didn't turned it off immediately I kept running and functions started to fail, first was the volume buttons, then the Touch ID, my screen had a fade in the center... About an hour later I arrived to my house, turned it off and put it in a ziplock full of rice for 20 hours. Next day the problems were the same but as soon as I started to use it and it got warm by use, the problems were disappearing, the only problem that persisted was the Touch ID which was crazy and the home button was double clicking constantly. At the end of that day the home button and the Touch ID were perfect and right now I'm using it and everything works as new...

they aren't waterproof they're just water resistant

So I know this was forever ago but did the iPhone 6s still work months later? Or did the water eventually kill the phone?

When u do a waterproof test.. Could u check back after a day also? Cus in my experienced the damage doesn't occur right the way but after few hours if the phone is still running after ( happened to my iphone 6 ) thanks!

I think some of one people that got lucky for the real 6S Water Proof phones , other is not!!

How do the speakers hold up? Does it affect the Lightning Port at all? What happens if the phones were put in vertically upside down? Would be nice if you could address these questions too.

Maybe they're giving it a test run... they don't want to say "it's water resistant!" and then have a bunch of people come to them saying "MINE BROKE IN THE WATER REFUND ME". because the second they say something like that it opens up legal risk and nobody likes lawsuits. I'll be looking to see another video in a week or so to see if they're still operating well.

That fact now everyone wants the iPhone 6s+ but who’s gonna keep there phone this long in the water? Honestly both phones are great and who will keep there phone in water that long??

Back in the water then 😂. I am a first time iPhone user, I jumped to the 6S from a Samsung A12 whose display shut down as a glitch in 23 seconds when it dropped in water. I'm glad to discover the 6S is waterproof.

There was this one time I accidentally dropped my brand new iphone4 into a wash basin with the water running and I almost had a heart attack! But luckily nothing happened to it... except the speaker would make an annoying buzzing sound during a phone call... and that was almost 5 years ago...

more devices are wasted in these durability tests than the real accidental things

omg when i saw the water i said the phones go to die very fast but it was amaicing i didn't know that resist water impresionant

Can you try chlorine and salt water?

That test doesn't account for movement though. While it's MASSIVELY impressive they lasted more than an hour, if someone were to say, swim with it, the water movement would cause increased ingress into the device(s). 1 hour though, very impressed!
