I did not expect the SE to be that water resistant. I was in love with my iPhone 5S and in June I'll be able to upgrade. Leaning toward the SE right now because I love the size. 3D touch isn't very interesting to me and neither is the front facing camera. They would be cool to have, but I like the size of the 5S/SE.

It was in for about 15 sec......just watching your second posting from your Mar 31 post. I think I am hugely relieved to see both your videos. I DO NOT PLAN TO DO ANY MORE TESTING ON MINE!!!! GOOD SHOW man!!! I dried my exterior and immediately hit all the ports with my hairdryer. Then after looking at another video before either of yours I did power mine off. Recommendation for next time: Water levels are different, different pressures on phones. Not like its that big a difference but it only takes you 5 more seconds to get equal water amounts :)

The iPhone 5S had no chance once you put it in letting water into the lightning port, and then again pulling it out. You even lifted the 5S up after you put it in to let more water in!!!

Thanks for the video, it answered a lot of questions we had! Just a couple more questions though: When putting them in the water, the first two phones were dropped on their backs but the last was picked up and tipped and you can see it expelled more air than the other phones. You'd mentioned having done another similar test, and I'm wondering if the results were the same? Just wondering if the way the phone is dropped makes a difference? If you drop it in a pool and it floats to the bottom on it's back vs. it's being dropped vertically, does it make any difference as to whether your phone will survive the water? Did you notice?

Last year I mistakenly left my SE with the top bit submerged in water for about four hours. If malfunctioned at first but a few short periods in rice and it worked again despite having a stained screen. Investigation later proved the water indicator was still red two months later tho. Do you think this corroborates your findings?

I saw the immersion in water is not the same! 5s was raised twice, SE carefully shipped and 6s thrown in the water.

Cool video, but you have made a small mistake you must fill the same amount of water in all 3 containers, having different amounts means different water pressures on all 3 devices, so you can't rely on those results. Sorry :/

Thanks for the video. I just bought a new SE after replacing battery 3 times with 6s Plus and was wondering if it was waterproof/resistant. I learned to never let anyone but Apple replace batteries. Ibreakufix replaced battery on 6s Plus 3 times and still drains quick and now water leak on screen and Apple won’t touch it because someone else did repair , ugh 😑 I bought SE because I miss my old 5 and 5s. I prefer the smaller size since I’ll use my iPad for other stuff or MacBook Pro. Contemplated waiting for SE2 but they didn’t release it last year and if they do release it this year, they’ll probably increase price quite a bit, no doubt.
