I laughed just as hard as Dan when ARIN said that! This is exactly why I love this show! Even if I don't like the game the comedy and deep talks is what I stay for! 🤣🥰
Reminds me of when he was playing sonic and felt like he was having a legitimate moment of clarity in his life coupled with an existential crisis. Screaming "WHY DO PEOPLE WATCH THIS?!?!". I was laughing hard as hell and feeling guilty as fuck, because I was wondering if he was performing or if it was legitimate and he felt so damn uncomfortable.
At some point in the middle of this, the closed captions just broke and left, "Daddy's gonna kiss you on the lips, Daddy's gonna kiss you on the lips," up for the rest of the episode. 🤣
DANNY - Real talk, your soft singing with the jokes weaved in was soothing and so funny. You're a real treasure, please both of you keep up the good life!
12:00 Why do people watch this show? - I can't speak for everyone, but you two are my morning cartoons. Thank you for just being so entertaining and fun!
In a questionable gamesmanship move, Dan probably told Arin's mother to text him concerning his not so good scent and other miscellaneous North Carolina weather news as a clever gambit to get in Arin's head thereby ultimately allowing Dan to win this highly contested chess match.
Anyone else love when they play games like this where they're allowed to just freestyle the comedy? I can't wait to see the game grumps animated for "why did your mother text".🤣🤣🤣
All I can pay attention to is the fact that the captions are just *stuck* on "Daddy's gonna kiss you on the lips, Daddy's gonna kiss you on the lips," from 11:04 until the *end of the video*
“What’s your favorite episode, Billy?” “I like the one where nobody makes a move for a loooooooooong time.” And yet it’s still ridiculously entertaining 😂
GameGrumps: Extra Grumpy Edition - Dan and Arin spend an entire week recording nothing but swapping back and forth between wheel of fortune and chess until one of them breaks completely
Anyone else imagining a Starbomb song where it is just a chess match, and Arin sings queen to d8, d8 deez nuts. Then the music stop and Dan just says knight to d8, checkmate.
Ironically, Arin hates tutorials and having to go through them, yet the way he plays versus games is like he's one big tutorial character, telegraphing his own moves like crazy and setting up Dan to defeat him.
My closed captions broke halfway through the video and now it has just read "Daddy's gonna kiss you on the lips" for the whole video. 10/10, my favorite quality content.
@ 11:45, I had my headphones on listening in and scooping coffee into my machine. When Arin asked "why do people watch this show?" I lost it like Danny and spilled the scoop everywhere. Worth the mess.
I kinda think Dan goes easy on him most of the time when they play chess, but this one might just make him NEVER do that again (especially considering how Arin is getting progressively better at it).
For the first time, I'M the one losing my mind watching them play. I see all these moves they could make and I'm screaming at the computer, "SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR DAD FOR TWO SECONDS AND MOVE YOUR BISHOP!"
Come one, come all! Our twice yearly “make fun of Arin” event is finally here! Refreshments are offered at the gates and the entrance fee is ABSOLUTELY FREE!
I look forward to the chess episodes in order to experience the fugue state of free association Arin’s mind enters where there is a direct link from his brain to his mouth. There really is nothing like it.
The best part of them playing chess is probably the almost constant improv songs just jamming out with the background music It's very calming, almost meditative... then Arin has a mental breakdown😅
I think I figured it out! Arin's babbling while in chess-game boy mode, it's similar to his Battle Kid steam of consciousness, just in slow-motion. THAT's why it's amazing 🤣 But seriously, kudos to Arin on his improvements!
Arin is the definition of perseverance, continuously getting beat by Dan and coming back again and again due to sheer determination to finally triumph over his long standing chess rival. Oh wait, I think I got mixed up- I meant stubbornness.
Arin keeps on improving, and there were multiple times were he had the initiative and it was up to Dan to defend, which he did well. As a (barely) intermediate chess enthusiast, this was the best and most even game these boys have played.
That is true Arin, if you don't get in that mind set of you're going to lose then you'll do infinitely better. It's a distraction, and your opponent will smell and take advantage of your weakness, 1st rule in strategy, gambling, and/or mind games never let your opponent know your true feelings, whether it's Poker, Chess, Texa Holdem, checkers, Chinese Checkers, or anything never show weakness or fear. Even if you lose at the end, doesn't matter, no need to get competitive, no need to worry and short circuit yourself, you just think about yourself and the moves you make, the moves your opponent makes, how you can deceive them when offensive or counter them when defensive. Sometimes you need to make sacrifices, as long as it leads to more pieces in your pile taken from your opponent, even if your Queen is taken out if it leads to you taking their Queen out that's important, if you take your Queen out chances are yours is next shift to focusing on other pieces defending or advancing if you think that's best. The moment she is taken out the other Queen usually follows shortly. Best I can say to you Arin, best way to over come the mind games, you meditate correct? Clear your mind young ooooone (even though you're older than meeeee), or if you need to think of it like a video game, especially an RPG. You like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Pokemon right? It's not that different on paper, Fire Emblem and Pokemon are also like Rock Paper Scissors with a lot their mechanics and weakness charts. Dan prefers a water type, an axe unit... his kniiiights (or horseys as you put it), take advantage of that.
18:45 The point is to take rook in the corner and when he takes back with the king, you can take the pawn on c7 with check freeing your trapped knight. Instead, you moved the knight first and lost both pieces.
"Daddy's gonna kiss you!" *Skips 10 sec* "Daddy's gonna kiss you!" *Skips 10 sec* "Daaaaaddy's gonna kiss you!" *Skips 10 sec* "WHY DO PEOPLE WATCH THIS SHOW??"
The banter in this episode was magnificent ! I laughed heartily and enjoyed the singing. It makes me miss my brilliant friend in Molde because he would hand me my tuchus on a silver platter every time we played Chess. Granted his mind understands it better than mine, so I know he's FAR brighter than me !
