You know what I like about you guys, you’re real and not afraid to reveal your limitations - you’re real about your finances. There are few other youtubers who are willing to say those fateful words “we’d like to do/buy X but we can’t afford it.”. As a fellow middle class denizen, that’s music to my ears.
It’s a pleasure watching you folks. You are so genuine and down to earth. Loving couple. You warm our hearts. Keep on going, and thank you for all your efforts to show us your adventures. Cheers.
I love that you were able to change the layout of the van for your needs without having to take the financial hit of buying another one. Those neck ACs look like a great idea for a musical festival or theme parks too
We also found you 2 months ago and love your videos! Two old people living vicariously through your adventures. Always look forward to what Bob will be coking. We can't wait til your next video. O
Hey guys. So happy to see the beds work out so well for you. Definitely, the best upgrade is Hillary's Bible. Definitely the best thing you've put in that van. Bob's avocado toast looked really good too! Glad you're enjoying Mr Lemon. Take care and God bless! Kirk and Christine
Perhaps your best video in the past year. Just you, no RV show reviews. My wife and I own a 2007 Itasca Navion 23B which is the bunkbed model. Not highly popular, but we both sleep like rock stars. When she wakes up for the midnight run, I never hear her. When I wake up early for coffee and the internet, she never hears me. When you hit 60+ you will appreciate the little "squeeze though" of seperate beds. Happy camping.
Yes. It is. Heat and Vanlife don’t mix. We live in the northeast and for the summer we put an eco flow delta pro and wave 2 combo and on low in the shade it works amazing. Those neck AC units are some futuristic shit. Love you guys. Good luck.
Taylor's loving that you're continuing the Avo Toast! We had some ourselves this morning so yummy! Yep, you're right, scallion onions (she also adds cilantro and hot sauce on hers, not mine) ohh and Everything seasoning!!! Congrats on the sponsor too!
Well if your van is built to deal with it then it is no problem. Spent 2 consecutive nights in Valley of the Gods with high temps at 100. We can run our 12v a/c 14 hours each night no problem. Left with 62% battery. We love it because not many people venture out in such conditions so we have place like that all to our selves.
I 'discovered' you two a month or two ago. I really enjoy your videos - you both have such nice, easygoing personalities. I also enjoy seeing the scenery around Flagstaff and northern AZ. It's a nice change from up here in NH - the opposite end of the country. Anyway, just wanted to say to say 'thanks' and I'll be following your adventures.
I think you guys have sold me on the Everything Keepers. The price had seemed silly to me, but they look so convenient. Fits a bible, Kindle, and glasses? I'm sold!
I generally FF through ads, but your approach / honesty encourages me to watch and learn… and I learned a lot about Ranvoo (I didn’t know these things existed)! Our van isn’t able to run our AC from our batteries, so those might be good solution on the unbearable days.
We live in Texas and I question the same thing - why do we live in such a hot place, particularly because we are from the north. The Mid-west for my husband & Canada for me! 🥵🥵🥵
@@VancaskeysDONT!! Lol. Im from Killeen, TX and spent most of my adult life in San Antonio as a police officer. It is like HELL in SA during the summer. The humidity is absolutely horrible. As always, great videos!! Im getting my van built in Jan 2025 and hope to one day run into yall. Be safe!!
14:58 I would totally decorate my RV like that! I painted all the cabinets different pastel colors in our DIY van. My son said it looks like the Easter bunny painted our cabinets lol
in Arizona you want to goto Greer, alpine to nutriosa has a few small towns in between that are just as good located in eastern arizona I live in the lakeside/pinetop arizona which is always a good place to come also full of famous steakhouses and so many other cousine stores and resteaunts with many antiques shops along the road from pinetop down to showlow.. little higher in elevation than flagstaff and nothing but tall pine shade
: ) THANKS MUCH for sharing and escaping the heat ! Good to see you back at that Campground without the SNOW :) I don't do heat very well, especially with NO AC :( Our heat wave has been tough here in Upper Left : ( ENJOY and ALL the BEST ! ! ! Cheers : )
Super fun and relaxing getaway, guys. 😊 I relaxed vicariously on my sofa! 😂 🛋 You guys know how to live right. Come in up to Washington if you want 30° cooler, but it's year round and boy does it rain in winter. 😉 Thanks as always for keeping us in tow. 🙏👍🏼❤️
Y’all had the perfect spot for RV gazing. 😁 That was neat to see the campground (and the pizza/fries) in the summer. Cool find on the boon docking spot. So glad your beds were wonderful and your work successful. Any adjustments will be made with your neck coolers turned on. 😁 Have a great week!
I'm surprised by the lack of trees and small sites at the resort, but maybe that's common at RV parks ? I had pictured Flagstaff camping in dense woods.
I do not recall if you have a generator or not, but if you do you can drive with it on and run the A/C. If no generator then its time to add 2 more batteries and a 12 volt A/C.
Good video. I loved the over-the-top class A. I wouldn't mind having that peace sign! What is that closing-up-shelf that you put your kindle in - attached to the bottom of the overhead bin?
You guys are cute, you look like an old 50s TV couple with the twin beds haha. It looks like a wonderful way to beat the heat of the "hot box." BTW we would hang out with you and we have a firepit.
Tons of boondocking around Flagstaff, but my wife isn’t too keen on camping out by ourselves. We did it once and she didn’t get much sleep, wondering what every little sound was. Can’t wait to try out or new B van in the Prescott area in a few weeks.
It's been a hot year in many states. We recently returned from a wonderful 2700 mile trip through 4 states. Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon had 90 to 102 days mostly.
I carry a bag of ducks in my van to duck jeeps with! I wanted to duck the green jeep that was next to the class A😂 I could see all of the ducks on their dash
I love your videos. I actually don’t own an RV yet but hope to own an RV soon. I do have a question, what’s the next big RV show you recommend I attend? Also, are you a Travis (chiefs) fan? Jason ( eagles) fan? Or are you a Swiftie 🫶🏼 Saludos from South Texas RGV 956.
Thank you! Where are you located? There is a great RV Show that Bob and I would love to go to in Hersey Pennsylvania in September. As far as my hat goes I am a football fanatic! My team is Green Bay Packers but I love listening to Jason and Travis’s podcast! I am big fans of both!
Hi 😊I live in McAllen/South Padre Island, way south Texas. Looks like the Hershey show is gonna be awesome. I’m feeling a road trip in the near future. 🚙 what day would you go to the show if you do go?
Really like the new bed set up. You did good Bob. I laughed out loud over your towel situation 😂. And I smiled so big that you have a Bible with you. And why not? God is soo good. Gonna check out that new product. It's hot here in Texas too. As usual, a fun video. Thanks guys.
We also have a Thor class B, if we were in the area we’d hang out with you. We live in Iowa, here people look at you like they’ve never seen a camper van. Love your videos keep up the good work
@@Vancaskeys Right away! It was even featured on a Netflix show called Chef's Table. It's one of the best pizzerias in the country. Thank me later 😁 🍕 ❤️
You did a great job on this video. Your story telling makes me wet to visit this place too. I really enjoyed it. Hope I can make a video like this someday.
Here in Prescott Valley, our summer weather can get pretty darn hot, though we won't likely get any sympathy from you big city Phoenix dwellers. 😂 Our favorite spot for beating the heat is Canyon Point campground, about a half hour east of Payson. Have you been? There are even a couple dozen electric hookups. The last time we camped there, we saw a horse, a deer, and a coyote. (One per day, they apparently take shifts). 😶 Thanks, guys!
Do you have anything like Kool Scarves? A cloth scarf filled with polymer crystals that absorb water when you soak it and when you put it around your neck it functions as an evaporative cooler. It makes an amazing difference. They're only $12 at REI. I have a couple of them in the van And my earthquake/wildfire evac kit. They really do work and they are low tech if your electronic doodad isn't available.
In AZ only cool enough place is up around Big Lake/ Sunrise. Gotta get to 8500-9000 feet in elevation. We are in Phoenix too and all paths out of AZ are torched.
Okay... Looked up Thor Rise and see it comes with a 1000 watt inverter, AGM batteries and a generator. Do you have to run the generator to run your A/C? Or do they have a lithium option? Thanks for posting your videos!
Good video but the title is a little silly. Flagstaff YES, the rest of AZ at any point in the summer in a van Forgetaboutit! Lots of FREE CAMPING outside of Flagstaff in National Forest areas usually although there were some shutdowns recently. If you are looking for a pool then Koa type spots may appeal to you.... Boondocking for free in a great spot with a lake is better but the choices are limitless. Lithium power bank helps!
Mr. Lemon…..if the van conversion doesn’t kill ya, then the failed brakes on the Flagstaff hill will! When I die, I want to go peacefully at the wheel of Mr. Lemon, not like the screaming passengers.
Hey are you able to leave your van parked on the driveway at home or do you guys storage? We’re shopping for vans now and hoping it will be incognito as it doesn’t look like an rv per say.😅
@@Vancaskeys That's better for an rv space. I-17 is quite the climb. And, descent. If you live in Chandler, we might see you around town as we do a lot of shopping in the area as we live in Casa Grande. We pull a Bambi 19ft when we hit the road three or four times a year for a week or two at a time as we are retired and can take advantage of week days with smaller crowds. Safe travels. S
There is no way I would be in Arizona during summer months. I would do everything to have a remote job for income and live in a cooler state during the summer.
I don’t get why anyone is willing to pay to park on hot gravel ant sit in the steamy heat with no trees or privacy. But I live in Vermont where it’s gorgeous no matter where you look.
Texas is too hot in July, August and parts of Sept. But the other problem with Texas is it takes too long to get out of Texas to find cooler temps which eliminates a weekend getaway. So our Class C is just sitting in the driveway waiting for us to take it out in Sept. 🫤🥵
