The reason the island has no grass is because the island is not using the normal terrain block in the game. It's using a 3d model for the entire island. This is because there can really only be 1 terrain block at a time, meaning any expansions outside of this terrain block cannot have grass decals on it (unless you manually place 3d / 2d sprites all of the ground)
I think that at the start of beamng it was about the crashing and how good it was but beam has evolved and the devs want to showcase that , and they did this by aiming to expand offroading and mechanical parts physics ,they did this by adding the 0.27 update , they further pushed into it by partnering with gambler 500 (0.29) and I think 0.30 update is to finish it up , I think this answered the question of why these past update are offroading themed ,0.28 might be a hint to what they are aiming for next to showcase beamng , improved vehicle dynamic like aerodynamics and tire wear/thermals , great overview of the update though 👍
I've been trying out the vr mode for a few days now and considering its early state its very good, the physics make it extremely immersive. Crashing can get a bit. Uhhh.. too realistic and scary at times.
When I tried the VR feature it was INCREDIBLY laggy even on lowest setting, really crappy beta vr imo, but its in its first stages so give it a chance ig
not a bad update i feel the only good parts were the VR and the UTV but i still think its very cool! i hope the next beamng update could be weather/seasons which would add alot new maps or could even be a UI option but if we could have weather in the game like rain, snow and storms also i hope they fix when you add fog and your windscreen stays really bright
Would you say the vr performance is mainly up to the gpu now? I can play smoothly but only if i close discord even though i want to talk to my friends :/
@@DesyncccThat's simply not true. I have a Ryzen 9 CPU, 64gb of ram and an RTX 4070 and its not smooth at all. Its dependent on the optimisation of the Vulkan renderer, which is suited better for AMD GPUs right now
@@SimulatorAdventures Aha, but you see i also run a RTX 4070 and i have no issues, i still believe performance plays part in it, and i don't mean the stutters but i mean you do still need a good pc to run vr smoothly, eitherway it's probably different for everyone seeing as some people like me run it without issues and some with issues, i did notice a significant change on my brothers pc whereas he also has very good specs but he experiences 15fps or lower as soon as he gets put into vr, and without he averages above 100. Still kind of confused why it works for me seeing as he has 64gb of ram whereas i only have 16.
If people complain about the CVT transmission in the UTV then thier complaining about every real UTV or offroad ATV in real life lol, the keyboard warriors really need to be informed before they complain, (and whos to say thier not modifiable) and also, cheap? i have one of these a Polaris RZR 1000, and it cost 20,000 dollars lol!
