i been doing blender for a while just a hobbyist and new in art over all, and i think blender is great. i think that anyone can achieve good results with enough time is just a matter of learning the things you want to do i noticed that some people wanna do everything and doing everything its gonna be painfull best start using the sections you are gonna use.
Exactly. Wanting to learn/do "everything" was actually what stopped me from going forward because I did not know what I wanted at first. To do better, ask yourself first (like I did a little late, unfortunately) "What do I want to do?". For me, it was architecture and character modeling. Once you know what you want, then you can start working!
I love Blender for many things even though I don't use it professionally. One thing that is keeping me from investing time in it (and probably a lot of studios too), is Edit Poly, as stupid as it sounds. Someone who never used 3ds Max in a production pipeline wouldn't believe how this might be an issue, but it is. Also, I don't know if it's still the case or if there are plugins for that, but last time I tried to use it for an interior image, using a frame buffer with post production settings exposed and having multiple physical cameras in the scene with different post production settings, was not easy or not possible at all. Please somebody let me know if these are possible because I really would like to give it another try.
I think you are confusion interior designer visualization with the actual work that goes into interior design. This is a very complex field when you operate not just like a home decorator! Blender misses some tools specifically drawing drafting snapping section cuts and honestly a well working SketchUp imprinted for their online store. But I fully agree otherwise why even bother with SketchUp when you have blender !
Unreal Engine is a very different kind of program. 1. It is not designed for modelling. 2. You can get nice renders but still it lacks a lot when it comes to photorealism. So according to me, Unreal Engine can't replace Blender, C4D, Max, etc.
I would like to ask you several questions. i'm very interested in game development. do you have facebook or something we can write? that would be very, very nice.
no 3D Software or render engine will change crappy design into good design...most of the stuff i see here is interior visualization / interior decoration
