After breaking my nose and eye socket doing a 270irl to face whip into the ground, i get dizzy a lot and just getting older and wearing down and I'm not even that good at the game or irl but i don't ride as much anymore so having a bmx game like this after not having one since the PSP days and still can't get over the fear of breaking my face is a God send.
Dang that's crazy glad your alright though! Having something to almost replace the IRL thing can be nice. Getting older def sucks so I feel you there lol.
I like that it takes a while to get good. Games without learning curves are kind of boring to me. I have almost 100hrs now and I'm still improving a bunch. Also I've been playing games of bike with friends and its pretty fun
great video, at first i hated it but after getting past the 10 hour mark i loved it. Im sitting at around 30 hours now and the whole not doing the right trick thing is most def a skill issue. Everytime i used to try and whip at first i keep doing one footers lmao.
I enjoyed it, still enjoyed pipe more but i think thats just because im so used to pipe. Got like 5000 hours in that game and still play it over streets. But honestly i think streets is more than worth it, the amount of map you have to work with and the harder movement / tricks makes it more challenging and rewarding to do certain things. Put all yhat together and id easily say for 4x the price your getting well over 4x the content. The game just came out so you have to expect bugs but you also gotta remember he didnt push it into early access so it didnt get the proper play testing which mash games shouldve done. Also this is a solo dev that made the entire game (just the code not the models) and thats extremely challenging to do. No other games done it as good as mash to this day
Just as a side note if mash would've put the game in early access we could've had months of testing to make this full release get the real reviews it deserves. Can't really complain a games buggy when it's still not fully out yet, but people expect a game to drop and it to be 100% polished. No game has ever had that happen and they are almost always super buggy. All assassins creeds, gta, literally every game started that way on release. Doesn't mean you need to flood the reviews making it out as a bad game because all your doing is getting less people to buy it which leads to less money for the devs to work on the game. Want a game to die? Then just have the steam ratings be all negative. That can kill a game real quick
Agree 100% with everything you said here! If there was an early access to get good playtesting that would of been perfect, but I guess we just wait a little longer to get the fixes now people are playing. Some of the reviews have been getting better but hopefully people see the value in the game !
My problem with BMX streets is everything looking unatural. Just at the moment atleast, the way you can turn mid air looks fake, doing a nose pick grind looks fake (dunno the trick names that well soz) & wall rides look so scuffed. Maybe animation changes like leaning more upright during wall ride, using body and legs more during grind for a more natural look ect Also would prefer a more spring loaded turn while doing 180's and stuff think that would look more natural too. Guessing all this stuff will be fixed in the long run anyways just gotta play the waiting game. Edit: I should also mention I am still loving the game overall regardless
I know they are working on some of the animations so maybe that will smooth out the game for you. I know it is supposed to be more realistic for a game, but for now I guess this is what we get. Have you played other BMX games you feel get the realism down better?
@@joevoc Nah haven't played much BMX games since I was a kid, mainly come back with this one because it defintely looks like it has the highest potential. There's definetly alot I do love about the game so far, same with session skate now we've come to more of a physics based system instead of spamming buttons. And when it comes to realism or simulation games, I'm just the sorta person If i bunny hop and can turn both ways in mid air due to wierd physics I'm like ewwww xD If I could do it personally I would do a more spring loaded type hop, triggers can turn the body and the bike would go with it, but would be impossible to start turning the opposite way Sorry probably way too much info for stuff that's so small and probably will improve in the future anyway, just ranting my wishes out xD
Nah love to hear what people are thinking and different ideas people have! Hell I'm about to screen shot this and send it to Mash Games lol maybe we get these changes in ASAP!!
It doesn't have a career mode like how the Skate Games do where your following a story and doing Challenges to reach a goal at the end, but I do not think the game is missing out much by not having one. I do feel you it would be cool.
nah defiantly don't think the game is missing out on much for having one, but I just want one for the fact that I like creating a person. Also just imagining that character is someone real yk. like a roleplaying aspect lol.
Not sure when you played last but the bugs aren't super prevalent they aren't making the game unplayable, I can't speak for the demo I never got to play it. I did mention that the game isn't easy but it is just a learning curve. Giving the game 2 hours of play for most won't cut it for getting the hang of things.
