One of the very few wholly admirable people to be found in U.K. politics. Hopefully she will be offered a significant role in the Cabinet post Boris and is deserving of serious consideration to replace him. The first black and female PM is within her reach at some stage in her career......to Labour’s dismay no doubt.
100% - she is CLEAR in her thoughts. She’s a leader - not a Sunak cut out drone type. Quite possibly a much nicer/kinder person - there is something Thatcheresque about her…
I'm sure that there are many out there who would be an excellent candidate for leader of the country but to play the race game by saying that if we have a person of color in charge things will be better because those people who are violent or irresponsible will not change because the evil ones don't care. It's the people of hate the country and the fact that white people are in charge are the ones who will never be happy.

Yes she may be young and inexperienced so was Pitt the Younger. When I hired company reps I went for the inexperienced then they weren't full of bad habits.
She’s nuanced , a difficult place to be in a contentious debate like race . There’s always the danger that she can’t call out the most egregious things . But that may well be the collateral damage to her narrative she is willing to accept for her suggested approach of unity of identity trumping difference .
I'm from a northern white working class background and now spend most of my time around well educated middle class people. They love to use phrases like 'white privilege', and the phrase has never resonated with me as the white people I grew up with were not privileged (racially or otherwise). I then discovered that George Orwell wrote about exactly these types of people, champagne socialists that disguise the fact they are secretly repulsed by the lower classes. In my town, the white working class people were more likely to be casually racist (like making jokes and such) but also more likely to have ethnic minority friends, 'mixed race' children, consume 'black culture' etc. The more middle class people were very politically correct but their actions often didn't match their words. Those working class people were definitely more likely to vote brexit as they worked in warehouses and construction etc. and I think politicians and the bougie middle class leftists really alienated them by labelling them as a whole group of racists for wanting brexit and I think that was reflected in the 2019 elections when they defected from labour.
I do still truly feel like the labour party is secretly disgusted by white working class people... they are missing a trick by having race hustlers like Diane Abbott when they could have people like Kemi Badenoch, who are more likely to represent the common sense mindset of the average person on issues like identity politics

The really important point but never mentioned is simply “if Britain were a democracy, immigration of the kind and extent we have suffered would not have been allowed”. Why would (genuinely) British people allow themselves to become foreigners in their own land? But Britain is not a democracy. Now of course a generation or more has passed, history distorted and free speech abolished. Isn’t mass immigration wonderful? Stepping into the next street is like travelling abroad, except no one goes into the next street anymore.
Spot on, I have never read a truer statement on You Tube. This remark should be posted to every young person in Britain in order that they know what has been going on in this country certainly since 1997. Blair, Cameron and Trudeau were all in their early 40s when they became PM. These are not great models to follow in any other respect. Blair hadn't had a sniff of ministerial responsibility before being installed in the office.

I agree with Kemi Badenoch. I am Venezuelan, and it is better to address history and characterizations as a whole. We have handled it without the need to divide the country according to ethnicity. I still think that the history of my country should point out at specific moments that are related to the colonial legacy, but other than that. Venezuela has been the most race tolerant country in South America since the beginning. Though the colonizers' value stay there, a dark person has a way to overcome it.

Kemi supported an apologist ‘commission’ to investigate an immensely complex form of bigotry. The Macpherson Inquiry Report defined Institutional Racism as: "The collective failure of an organisation to provide an appropriate and professional service to people because of their colour, culture, or ethnic origin. It can be seen or detected in processes, attitudes and behaviour which amount to discrimination through unwitting prejudice, ignorance, thoughtlessness and racist stereotyping which disadvantage minority ethnic people." This is somewhat wider than Kemi’s very narrow view.

There's more to knowledge than data and commissions. Kemi mentions how highlighting difference leads to 'tribalism', something she says she grew up experiencing as a child. It has to be said, tribes have longevity. They seem to be difficult to displace and this is something that people who are not aligned to a 'tribe'find hard to understand - there is for very many people, comfort and security in their tribe. Race, tribes, religions, communities, whatever, matter little to successful individuals who stepped out of their tribes to become wealthy, powerful individuals. In their singular experience, the individual is what counts (the only acceptable extension to thay being the family) And guess what? These are the people who commission reports that say stop highlighting race because it creates tribalism and instead focus on the individual. Just be open enough to ask people why they associate with an identity and be prepared to embrace it, even if its not the view of your own tribe (i.e.Heritage Foundation, Tufton St, ARC, etc, etc, etc)
Does racial equality mean that ethnic minorities have equal rights to white people or does it mean we have an equal amount of black and white people? Just asking because I’m starting to wonder?
