Is British Airways Business Class Worth It Anymore? London to Orlando Flight Review 

I don’t think you’re wrong to point out that the seat was dirty. When I pay £3-4k for a seat I expect quality, good service and cleanliness. And climbing over someone is unacceptable these days. I try and avoid BA as their product is poor for the price point .

When you say you are 'very, very lucky', I hope you don't feel guilty. You are sharing your experience with many thousands of people, including someone like me who is very grateful

As someone who can’t fly anywhere anymore due to health and financial reasons, 😢 to you I say, enjoy every moment of travel and holidaying that you can now. First video by this lady that I've ever seen. I liked it. Low-key, but interesting content. Didn't criticise BA too harshly for the dirty plane. Pleasant attitude almost smoothed over the indifferent presentation by BA. The staff also received deserved praise. All round designed to not upset the apple cart too much. Very diplomatic!

I am an easygoing gal, but that level of grime and crammed configuration is outrageous considering the cost. You were very generous and I can tell you’re mindful of people watching who may be stuck in economy. This is a business class experience I’d expect to see if a discount carrier introduced a lie flat product. I’m glad the food was great! Excellent video - have fun in Orlando!

Qatar Business Class is insane. Took an upgrade with them a few years back and you are treated like royalty as soon as you get on the plane. Nice to see someone with the same surname doing flight reviews too

This is the old BA Business Class cabin. They have introduced the Club World Suite on the Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 787-10 , which are more modern and spacious.

I last flew in 1986 and will never do so again (financial and medical reasons). I am not bothered about this but I am so pleased that people like Hannah post videos which I can watch and enjoy. Really grateful.

I'll be honest I'm glad I've watched this. We go to Florida on November 26th, I was going to upgrade to business but theres no chance I'm spending that amount to scramble over someone's legs and feel like I'm sitting in a broom cupboard. Great video, thank you!

I flew BA business, return to Las Vegas from Heathrow in November. I thought it was excellent and I managed to sleep through almost the entire return leg, which is the main reason for paying the extra.

I was speaking to a very nice fun lady yesterday in our local Michigan grocery store who upon recognizing I had a British accent announced she watched Hannah Ricketts on you tube. We do too, my wife and and I responded. She then went on to talk about how you inspired her to do Teas. Hannah is making a difference in the world. By the way, the lady thought you and I sounded the same. I am a Geordie who has lived in the USA for 24 years, I am not sure we sound exactly alike.

I did BA Business Class Austin - London in September in the Airbus A350-1000 and I loved it. Great 1-2-1 configuration with the privacy door. Lots of space with 2 full windows in 9A and 9K. The food was great and the filet was one of the best I’ve ever had. LOVED the White Company pillow and the bedding was very nice. Lay flat bed was very spacious. Wine selection was nice but very skimpy beer offerings. All in all, very nice experience!

As I live in Cornwall and have a Cornish wife, it's jam first. She likes to say that you can smear the cream on top like a glue. Loving the travel day, been a while 😊

Funny story my husband was attending a conference in Orlando for Educational reasons. When leaving he and his friend had rented a car and we’re returning to the Airport they thought. 😂 By accident they were in traffic to Disney World 🙃. Eventually they turned around and reached the plane in time but watching today you entering Disney it brought a smile and a laugh. Unfortunately he died in 2011 but things I see or watch bring so many memories. Thanks for this and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen seats like that before. The difference between UK and USA. Loved it.

Flew Business Class with my mother from LHR to Corfu in June - the crew and the aeroplane going out were incredible, lovely people, modern plane, superb service. Coming back, our flight was cancelled, no notice, and no information. They flew us back Finnair, and they were wonderful!

Flew heathrow to singapore beginning of march, paid extra for 2 seats together. Business lounge was more like a works canteen, been before and it felt so much more personal in the past. Went to boarding and got told my seat was broken, no reclining! So I was moved 5 rows away from my wife. Told them not happening because my wife is a very nervy flyer. Kept my original seat, yes the broken one. So it was an overnight flight, 13 hours of upright seat, no sleep! Had back ache for next 6-8 days. And yet my wife stays faithful to BA. 10000 avios points compo, which will probably run out before I get a chance to use.

Saturday morning in Mel. Australia. Watching Hannah with a travel blog, I'm in heaven. I am going to splurge on a once in a life time business class to Paris to see family. All your fault Hannah I want to experience this once. I've just retired and think now is the time. As you say" first world problems" I'm so blessed. I am trying to wangle a week in London only so that I can visit all my favourite Hannah places... might need two weeks actually. Thank you for making my retirement full of ideas and making planning my walks around Melbourne so much fun. 2 hrs later Have been watching other business class vlogs but yours are by far the best. Your enthusiasm and pleasure in everything really shows though and takes an informative dreary blog to the next level. Thank you again for all the time and effort you put in.

The Club lounge looked better than the tired lounge at Heathrow. Have given up on BA Business Class particularly to Orlando. Seating when converted to a bed is comfortable but pre flight and flight service is just OK.Switched to another British airline and will not return to BA Business. For the price cabin needs improving.

I haven't flown first class or business class since before there were sleeper seats! The only flying I do these days is in economy (or some version of it) as I would rather spend my money differently , but I have to say, I have flown Virgin Atlantic on my last three flights from the US to UK and was really impressed. Even in Economy they still gave out amenity packs, blankets, etc. , free drinks, good food. The cabin crew on all of the flight were great . I vowed never to fly BA again many years ago. Once, when traveling with my husband and son (who was 4 years old, and a seasoned traveller as we lived in Australia and flew back and forth to the US often) we were stuck on the tarmac for several hours and the staff was horrendous. One of the crew actually slapped my hand when I reached for a cookie that they were handing out (while still on the ground), and told me they were only for the children. I think these days if that happened you would probably sue the airline! All in all, flying is nowhere near the experience it was in the past - and not something I enjoy. This was fascinating - thanks!

My family and I last flew BA in 2002, economy, NEVER again. The flight was delayed, we were escorted to a hotel about 11 pm. and then woken up at 6:00 am. to get on the replacement aeroplane!

I agree this configuration is really unacceptable these days for business class prices. There are so many better options available with aisle access from every seat. I was BA Gold for many years but personally I feel BA are now far down the pack. Personally I swapped my allegiance to AF/KLM. You should try AF long haul business class, much better than BA.

Great review. 😁 You went through so many details I feel those 'professional' flight reviewers tend to take for granted on these business class flights. Also, I wouldn't be too hard on BA's old business class. Even Qatar isn't flying their Q-Suites on every route.

Having worked for BA for years i've flown club dozens of times, I have to say that the best business class i've ever flown was Air Belgium! They had a really weird seating arrangement where your feet went into a sort of box in the seat in front, it sounds odd , but it meant you did not have to clamber over the person behind, or sit staring at a complete stranger through the partition.

I prefer upper class with Virgin. BA food on our trip two year ago was awful. Glad you enjoyed it.

When it comes to older business class seats from Virgin and British, I’d take Virgin’s all day. I’ve flown Virgin’s older Herringbone configuration and it’s newer one and I’m fine with either one, I thought I wouldn’t like the older one but I liked it.

Goodness, the seat layout in their business class is just so awkward. I'm a flight attendant (with another airline) and just envisioning how uncomfortable it must be for everyone involved getting around, serving the food and beverages over people, eek. I certainly hope your next time flying them in business class, it's in a seat configuring that is more comfortable. I flew 1st Class with BA to Boston a few weeks ago and it was absolutely ………………… Brilliant! 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧👍 A little tip, BA has a sale an around Christmas time and there are some REAL bargains to be had! My flights and hotel (5*) for a week were less than £7k, and that was for two people. We were both fed up with champagne!!

Being 6'7'' any upgrade from Economy is so much appreciated. I always feel so sorry for anyone sitting in front of me in Economy as they have no chance of reclining their seat, and it feels like BA are shrinking the space between their seats.

That lounge looked great. I used to get first class BA because of parents but now im slumming it on Ryanair 🤣🤣

Hannah you are back at Disney so happy for you!! Your vlog of the airline & lounge was in great detail which I love & happy you had a good flight. Climbing over someone to get to your seat is beyond strange they have to refigure that design in newer planes. I like to clap at the end of flights I think its more a thank you to the pilot for a safe flight the clap is like a big sigh of relief lol

I flew Sydney to London RTN, Club World after Covid for $6500, so around £3000. It wasn’t a great luxury experience but for the money, I got to lay flat, sleep and overall the experience was great. Prices are now $10000 for the same route and there’s NO way I would pay that for BA Business.

Pre COVID I got a round the world ticket with numerous stop offs. All with scheduled airlines economy for just over 3k....makes one think about the cost. Enjoying the content👍

Cleanliness is very important to me. I could see the marks on the armrest and window. I had an experience on BA a few years ago. I did get quite ill which spoiled my holiday.

Really interesting. We have flown BA once in economy and found it better than our national North American airline.

Great Vlog. Dirty business class is unforgivable in this day and age. Our Australian air lines are just as bad, cleaners only get a few minutes to clean before the next lot of passengers come on board. This gives the air lines more profits, but passengers pick up germs. Enjoy your holiday.

Oh what a treat! Travelling with Hannah back to DISNEY. I’ve been lucky to have flown overnight in business and all pods are not equal for sure but I’ve never had to climb over someone! Weird. My best experience (and I’ve not flown the wonderful Asian ones) was Swiss Air. I swear there were only 10 of us up there in business Montreal to Zurich ….and I remember the table setting looked like a wine tasting with all the glasses lol. Special

Before Covid i worked for OCS and we cleaned the BA planes and Lounge! It's a shame to see the standards of cleanliness has declined since another company took over! The BA lounge i do miss cleaning and hasnt changed one bit! New to your channel and will definitely subscribe! 😁 x

That's a very inconvenient and unclassy business class set up. No way should you need to literally climb over someone else to get to/from your seat. I'd give props to AA if you get their Flagship business class. It's a newer, much more logical config and I took it to London back in 2019. Was very impressed with it. That said, not having flown on Qatar or Emirates, I have done Singapore Airlines a few times, and that is def up there in terms of service and bougie experience.

I’ve got to say flying backwards sounds a bit weird to me having never done it. Also, don’t ever stop to think about how the plane stays in the air, it’s enough to know it just does! I once flew an internal flight to Cairo on Egyptair and when we finally touched down the whole aircraft erupted in paroxysms of joy and euphoria. Cheering, clapping…the full package of delights. Could it be that applause is just an expression of relief for having arrived in one piece? Who knows! 💥💥💥BEST TRAVEL VLOG !!! SERIOUSLY GOOD! 💥💥💥. I used to fly around the world for 12 Years delivering packages. Always business class. I still fly BA biz to Dubai and Warsaw. For my 50th I flew EK biz to DXB. Amazing product and service, but my heart is with BA. After a thousand or so flights, I have to say the BA service is second to none. But sadly they are no longer in the top ten. The cabins etc are not as good as EK, EY, QR ETC…. Anyway, thanks so much for the vlog. You have an amazing talent, and it was really good to see the whole journey!

Well, I’m glad you finally got back to Florida. I know that you love it there. I’m the one that owns property in the springs right off of Orlando up north. In a place called Salt Springs. It is nice. Soon will be buying a big farm up in high Springs around some other Springs and traveling between those two and Cocoa Beach/Satellite Beach and Sebastian Beach for work.

Interesting! I am flying BA Business Class to Toronto in December but from Heathrow. I have never been to Gatwick. You had the old business seat configuration. The latest, which is in the A350, is much better. I didn't like the old one either. I agree with you. BA have changed direction lately and are now trying to revert to a quality airline after all the cutbacks in previos years. Mike Rickett

I flew by Air New Zealand and the flight attendants were amazing and the food was very good and lots of water was handed out. One of the best flights I had.

So interesting to see travel from London. I just stayed at the Swan for 2 nights on October 20th just to enjoy The Boardwalk and all the restaurants and a ride in the skyliner to The Riveria and then to Coco beach area for the week. We had just been in January for a stay at The Beach Club right by back entrance to Epcot. I just love the area by the Boardwalk so you can walk and enjoy so many things. So the January trip we went to 3 parks and did a monorail crawl and Disney Springs to Morimoto Asia and The Boat House and Wine Bar George. Then the second trip didn’t even go into the park just enjoyed everything around the Swan and there pool and all the amazing eating. The Flying Fish and IL Mulino the best !!!! There are so many ways to enjoy Disney🥰

What a fun Hannah on Holiday Vlog!! Thank you for the tour of the lounge at Gatwick. It seems much more relaxed compared to Heathrow. It doesn’t seem like the ground crews ever have enough time to thoroughly clean every surface from the previous flight. The herringbone seating configuration on carriers like Cathay afford access to one’s seat without interrupting a cabin mate. Have a great time in MCO and WDW with your family! Hannah, on my goodness me, I LOVED it. It was like being on there with you - tho I'd never fit near your coffin. Years ago my folks lived in Spain. They moved back to the UK, so on my final trip to Spain, I used the posh lounge at Stansted (or was it Luton?)... It was so good. Posh chairs. Seeing all the folks hustle and bussle. while I could chill wiht pastries and the like. At that time, I thought, why the heck did I not do this before? Flight wise, never done a business class. Did you collect the airmiles with Amex? I use to have one many moons ago. I got a bit confused by what you did pay for and what you didn't. Sorry. But I take it the whole flight was pretty much for nothing? That's just amazing. Terrific way to spend the miles. Really enjoyed watching it all. Hope you had a fab time with the family.
