05-Aug-2022: mate you just saved me £110, the offer of a preloaded card for £110 is there when going through your website, but missing when going directly to BT. well done ...cheers for the video
Glad to have helped. For anyone else watching, if you're about to buy BT Broadband, it's a good idea to check the links to BT in the article we've put in the description, as there are often special offers such as these reward cards.
Ive been with bt now for over 4 years. Ive recently switched to full fibre [guaranteed 100mb up to 150mb, 30mb upload speed. I game all the time and ive had no issues at all over those 4 years. I currently pay £31 a month but its free for 3 months because of a black friday deal they offer. No upfront fees at all. Im quite confused to all the bad commends i see on here and its prompted me to post this comment. I guess maybe it depends what part of the country you are in?
Yeah it can be quite varied from customer to customer. This is why we recommend people look at Ofcom's customer service reports. They give a better idea of average customer satisfaction as they look at a huge amount of data about speeds/performance and customer complaint numbers. BT generally performs pretty well in these reports.
As you have stated BT tends to be expensive. I also don’t like that after coercing you into having a digital phone, they charge you 5 gbp per month for the privilege and that the modem-router is only LOANED to you. I don’t think they’re the one for me.
It's worth noting that nearly all providers only loan their routers to you these days. After the 2020-21 chip shortage they began doing this because otherwise they were going to run out of routers.
@@broadbandsavvy As far as I am aware the only other major ISP which only 'loans' its router is Sky. I find the idea of having something in my home which does not belong to me a turn off.
@@ynyslochtyn They all do it these days unfortunately. TalkTalk requires you to send it back within 42 days for example, unless you purchased the router from their store.
@@broadbandsavvy Last time I looked (recently), FREE routers were being provided by Now broadband. Plusnet, Vodafone . . . I’m not to sure about TalkTalk and whether they supply eero or earlier router. They will provide a bag so that you can return them as alternative to recycling them locally but never the less free is free. Not loaned.
Hi I'm currently with sky TV and broadband im at the end of contract and in my 31 days notice period. My last payment is at the beginning of January. I'm thinking of switching to BT. Should I do it now or wait till after I've made the last payment in January. I'm a little bit confused.
We are BT customers and have had good experiences, you can read more about this here: broadbandsavvy.com/bt-fibre-1-broadband-review/ Sky also offer good customer service - it depends what speed you want, and how much each is charging at any given moment. Their monthly prices and upfront costs are quite similar.
@broadbandsavvy Just because you have a good experience doesn't mean this is representative of the masses. Indeed, the presenter looks as though he's a heavy heroin addict which might explain his delusional view of how great BT are. I'm afraid I'm at the end of my tether with the BT scum, at £71.99 per month, I should be able to have a modicum of cooperation, reliability and provision. I joined about four months ago, inevitably, the engineer didn't arrive at the agreed time - to set the tone for their attitude. Since then, they've repeatedly sent faulty equipment to replace faulty equipment, put me in contact for prolonged technical service discussions at premium rate with various retards only ultimately to conclude that the equipment is faulty which was obvious from the start. When some fart keeps telling you that the issue is with the broadband itself when it's patently the BT box that's faulty (constantly advising switching the router off and on), then you know it's a tactic to make you drop the matter. They take days to replace faulty equipment and, of course, provide zero refund. I should point out that the cretinous bimbos have never informed me my account number and I therefore cannot view my bills even by using the security questions method because some moron also keeps setting the online portal up to reject the correctly entered credentials. Anyone with an IQ greater than five would, when I eventually get through by phone, simply tell me my account number (or send it to me) and reset the glitchy credentials...but no. I also note that when they say they'll send you a security password text to continue dialogue, this never arrives despite the correct mobile number; they then have to send it by email. To prove that they are lying about having tried to send text messages, if I start a (fruitless) chat by text discussion, those exchanges appear, proving the phone number they have is right. My understanding of the package was that I get a notable range of channels yet I get hardly any more than you normally get on the standard aerial connection. If I filter for subscribed channels, nearly all of them still demand an additional subscription (not registration, to be clear), all I essentially get extra are three or four sport channels....yes, for £71.99 per month without landline. Rather than send an engineer out when things have gone severely wrong, which is the least I should expect when the fault lies with them, the entire onus is left for me to carry out diagnostics. I implore anyone thinking of going with BT to ignore these propaganda, misleading videos. BT should be heavily punished for breaching contracts and misappropriation of payments. They don't care because corrupt authorites act in collusion with them so they're treated with impunity.
Very friendly but just terrible slow results they called convinced me to swap over from ee to btee and sofar been one day without Internet and the customer service rep told me to look for a hotspot insted
I have just swapped and ended over 10 years of BT providing me with Broadband and Landline, why? When I joined BT over 10 years ago my package including unlimited broadband and any time Landline calls started at £45 per month, over the years I have been contacted by BT of new Hubs at a few pound more a month and the cost slightly increasing, after all their promise is they will contact old customers as well as new customers of any better deals they have, so why look for another provider they promise the will keep you in the know, so just sat back thinking ya have the best deal even so my avarage monthly bill today is £78 instead of the £45 I begand with. The other day I was out in the yard when this representative was about from BFSK and he starts talking to me about fibre connections, at first his cloths and badge I thought he was from BT intersted in giving me a loyal customer a better deal, but he mentioned £35 a month for braodband and Landline with 6 month Broadban free, it was then I realised he wasn't from BT and I don't usually accept cold callers even have a sticker on my door, first thing went through my mind is he genuine or a scammer but he had my interest because £35 a month to £78 a month first 6 months only £8 for landline would get anybodies interest when they been paying £78 + a mnoth and especially with todays cost of living going up. So yes I agreed to sign up and he asked for no personal information accept for my sort code and account number to set up direct debit, he let me put in these details into his laptop myself knowing its going to be a few days before he could set it up, this give me time to check it was above board and it was. They set it all up five days after I agreed all working now so rang BT to say I was leaving them and to my surprise they came out with a packager for £39.99 a month unlimited broadband and landline calls, where was their promis to me I have been paying over £78 a month and now I am leaving they could do it for £39.99 a month, this isn't about BT being more expensive then other provider this is about BT having better cheaper products they are not providing for existing customers until they lose them. Only last week I got a email from BT offering me another updated Hub for £4.99 extra s month which would of too my monthly bill over £80 a month, this is a breach of their promises to existing customers and just cashing in rather a person is old or disabled instead of giving them the best they can, you know what upsets me the most? If they had of emailed me before I went with another provider reducing my cost to £39.99 I would of been over the moon and never considred going with another provider as I hate changing. But the truth is BT haven't been honest, kept to their promise that they will always look after existing customers as they would new customers, They can't justify as I have never had any emails, texts, letters or phone calls ever offering their services cheaper everything I have recieved as been extra money and I urge anyone else who feel cheated change providers juggle your custom around. BUt this should be illegal because it is Legalised robbery how much have I lost paying for this provision over the years ? Mike
Sorry to hear that happened. Unfortunately it's quite common, and nearly all providers do it. The best thing to do is switch provider at the end of your contract every single time, or at least tell your current provider you're leaving, to force them to offer you the lowest possible monthly cost. Also ensure to avoid being out of contract if you can, because your monthly bill will be much higher.
I chose BT last year, big mistake, support is CRAP, they are short of staff. seems they don't earn earn enough to pay them, trying to phone or do online chat takes ages, online chat is the worst I have encountered in 15 years, you have to wait for each reply until you give up, agents are often poorly trained and don't help much, the agent told me he was from "technical dept" he had no idea what wifi 6 is , truly amazing, that is what their own engineer suggested when he came, keep telling me they will raise a "complaint", that is an even bigger joke, no one reads, no one does anything, I tried emailing them, they couldn't bother to even acknowledge my email let alone help, they are simply CRAP, I will soon leave BT even if it means paying a penalty, they have no shame.
