Navia even strictly needs crystallize, her rest of the team can still do their own damage without messing too much for navia's crystallize, like can do vaporize along with furina & bennet team, even not the best for navia herself, but as long she got the crystal, all good right? also navia dmg is already bomb big nuke dmg. In Emilie case, burning reaction is rlly strictly to burning and nothing can mess along side it for her to works, also she's off field sub dps is making not getting too much big value even she is strict to burning, and with current charas, no pyro damager can benefit burning properly, which we need it in newer charas, perhaps in natlan. And for burnmelt not benefit her at all too, bcz all we need to care abt burn melt is consistent pyro aura for a long time, not dmg, which we can have already in nahida
One fun interaction people might miss since we're still on beta is her interaction with pyro infused enemies. She could very much "farm" pyro shielded enemies for her lvl 2 skill, and since her burst refreshes her skill while still keeping the lvl, with enough ER you could "ride" that first burning enemy for the whole chamber. In this niche schenario you could run her in a Quicken team while still having the burning upside. This might sound too specific but we had recent abyss chambers with a pyro abyss mage on the first wave so its not entirely impossible.
most of the times they come in waves so it won't really work. Unless they have one every wave and somehow don't kill it/destroy shield with your quicken team. It also sounds bad for single wave chambers with that niche because it is possible you would rather change to quick bloom than want a bit more of upfront damage. So basically it won't work and where it works you would prefer other ways to upfront damage.
@@yunfanji I think you missed my point, her burst resummons her E while still keeping the lvl it had previously. This means if you got her E to lvl 2 in the first 4 seconds of the chamber, each burst recast will resummon her E at lvl 2 without the need of a burning enemy.
@@edenrav oh yeah that makes a lot more sense, you could technically level up the E and just keep using the burst as long as you have energy, which wouldn't be a huge issue in Quicken teams true. However it is still a bit problematic because it levels down if it doesn't pick Scents in 8s. It could be possible depending on the timing on the burning check but in any case it is a tiny or non-existent window to save the E. Honestly, why doesn't it just create a LV2 one after burst ends 😂
My guess it's because she won't be involved in the main event so they're gonna have a banner for the characters in the story, then have Émilie on second half to give new content (her SQ) for after people have finished the event story.
Maybe she'll be good with the dendro guy in the natlan sneak peek so thats why they put her there so people who want him after they find out his kit from the livestream can get her

Like Baizhu in the last region, I'm also pulling this last-patch questionable value Dendro five star. I hope I'll end up loving her as much as I did him!

@@seishi425 first Emilie has no healing lmao, also she needs burns to deal damage properly. It’s also limited team comb if you want to play her, which I personally don’t like. Her big numbers also tells me Natlan characters damage are base on her if supports aren’t good enough in the future, power creep is crazy at this point.
Emilie made me realize - more than ever - how frustrating it is that we don't know enough about future characers. In this case, whether we'll get a real burning support soon, or any time soon. Or... ever. That's a real problem that Genshin has, which Jamie (kb9v) also talked about in his recent (rant) video on Imaginarium Theater.
I think she could have been really cool as a Black Swan-style character, where she turns a single-target interaction into one that can hit multiple enemies. You could make it so that whenever she's in the team, burning reactions do more damage based on her attack, and every once in a while (maybe every 3 burning ticks or something) they deal AoE damage, kinda like what Black Swan does to DoT's.
I'm just gonna predict that Emilie and the dendro boy in Natlan will have synergy probably... The dendro guy can use the talking stick then his team would Bennett, Emilie Thoma and him... and Natlan gonna center around fire reactions (Melt,Burning, Burgeon, Overload, and Vaporize to an extent)
oh yeah they are totally gonna Focus on pyro reactions for Natlan just look at Fontaine (Lyney being mono pyro, Chevy being focused on overload, clorinde being another aggravate DPS)
There's already questionable leaks that he'll function in burning and bloom teams, not quicken teams. It's possible that hoyo is trying to improve pyro reactions outside of vaporize

Sort of? For teams that want dendro but not bloom related builds, she's great. Which is why people wanted to test her with quicken. But because her skills prefer burning, it means she is optimal in reverse melt where the burning aura persists even after a melt reaction.
I think it's funny that Zajef mentioned Air Fryer, because I had the wack idea of playing "carry" Venti with Emilie, Baizhu, and the Pyro Archon (assuming she has sufficient app and dps)
That comp existed long ago with Kazuha Nahida and 2 Pyro. The problem is survivng the burn, not dmg. Emilie only buff her own dmg, not burn itself like Nahida C2 btw
doesn't her burning res passive also basically enable marechausse for everybody without needing to have furina on the team ? and vorukasha's too, first way we have to make it a universal HP-scaler DMG% set
@@Ivy-jq6di why the "don't have self healing"? It frees up the healer spot in that team and although the character could have used maréchaussée w/out Émilie before, it still facilitates it, and enables vorukasha (which doesn't work with Fontaine's HP manipulation)

She has good personal damage if the enemy is burning, while I expected that she would buff burning itself. Enemy’s health rapidly going down due to dot effect is fun to watch
it's the only reason I want her because i love wriothesley but his dmg is kinda whatever for f2p investment so a great sub dps for him will be a nice addition
I'd definetly pick her up if Furina and Yelan weren't rerunning at the same time. Their C1's are definetly something to consider specially when WeedGirl is about the same as Nahida. I do like the Burning reaction, even completed an Abyss using Air Fryer, definetly a good challenge, but if Emily is just a decent DPS for Burning then it's probably a skip, I'll wait and see. On another note, Burning + Overload on a natural scenario actually breaks the game abit, I had an encounter with a Pyro Abyss Mage and a Dendro Samachurl with Fischl on my team and my screen was tilted the whole fight because of how natural elements don't seem to have ICD.
there are certain areas in the overworld where if you apply even a slightest electro on a campfire/torches it will trigger non stop overload and just kills everyone
I feel like you were being disingenuous about the burgeon part. If you're using such a slow dendro applicator, you definitely don't want any of the hyper hydro applicators like XQ or Yelan. I'm surprised you didn't use Furina for that team test. Or switch in a hydro catalyst user to likewise slow down the application to better match the speed of dendro application. Balancing the auras better should provide a more steady damage flow despite the funkiness of individual characters or slightly reduced burgeon procs. Similar issue with the Overburn talk. Sure Fischl technically has the fastest electro application, but she needs someone on field procing electro reactions to do it. Thus, she's not the best unit for the job. So someone whose not quite as fast, but can consistently provide those reactions, would be much better. Be it Yae (even on fielding) or Keqing, or some other set up like Beidou burst.
i love analyzing numbers but please get a dynamic mic or something to dampen the amount of hollowness in your room bc it gets your voice to sound like a knife piercing through my ear
I'm not pulling because i'm saving, but burning is my favorite reaction so i hope she's good. I use Tighnari, Baizhu, Bennett, Jean as my main burning team lol, Dendro Resonance helps a lot, and having three healers means everyone usually stays alive. It is very much a circle impact team tho, bc sunfire is most of my pyro app (don't have c6 benny because he refuses to come home).
Personally, I think Emilie is a skip for now, but people should be on the lookout for Natlan units that could work with her. Best case, it might be a Baizhu situation where Furina's release made his rerun a much more enticing option than his debut banner.
Conceptually I really like her but in practicality she seems very eh. Can't believe they wasted Hikasa Yoko on her though. I totally would've expected her to be a Clorinde/Yae Miko/Jean type of character in a region.
One of my favorite looking characters in the whole game, but I dunno if I can justify pulling for her. Being a niche reaction unit is a big plus to me, but still, 5.x coming soon, plus probably some good reruns coming up...
i think shes a good unit no? dealing 142x2% offield for 20sec every 1.5, shes probably 2nd best offield dendro applicator besides nahida. Like benny, XL, furina and emelie. let furina do the vaping while benny onfield for keeping burning and battery? Then u can free nahida for other team.
She is fine, but no. She is fine, but her niche (burning) nerf her. Is something like if they release a character that have Emilie amount of dmg, but require to have consistent cryo+electro reaction. Unlike other good character, she is nerf for her niche teams, instead of being buff by it (no have have problems for characters that only work in vape, hyperbloom, niloubloom, quickbloom, quicken, cause those reactions are good at a base line)
Also, she is a good user of Tenacity of the Millelith if you need that. It is not great for her, she only gets at most 20% ATK, but this way she can support the team.
All she does is damage and many can use the tenacity set. You'd lose out on too much damage and reduce her value in the team. Characters who provide only damage need a lot of it to be worth playing.
@@Doki_LP That is absolutely true. I only mentioned it for new players who dont have many characters so they might not have other characters that can utilize Tenacity.
You're right about her R1 Bait. But there is a greater bait i'd say - Yelan. Her C1 is almost useless without her R1 and her R1 and not that big of a deal without C1. But at least Aqua much more versitile than lumidous. Also i guess her design is about Kinich + Emilie duo where she ll have much easier energy req (at least i hope)
It would stack. but res shred is most valuable if you apply it one time and if you apply res shred second time on first res shred then 2nd res shred is less valueble compared to first one that's why you use single anemo char on VV in a team.
yes, but when an opponents resistance goes below 0% (most enemies have 10% all elemental res) the resistance shred will be cut in half, so with both emilies c2 and deepwood your opponent would have -25% dendro resistance
I'm gonna wait for a rerun to possibly pull for her. My interest in her is based on her use in two teams: Burning Klee (so maybe air fryer 👀) and BurnMelt Wrio. And I don't have Wrio yet, nor is her usefulness in said team fully tested. So I'm gonna save for my boi, see how good she really is, and also see who all from Natlan I'm interested in.
Well you can kinda play her onfield in bennet, xiangling, and furina/kazuha team because those team doesn't really have on fielder. Like zajeff said, the idea is that if she is played on field she need less ER and she get buffed by bennet (remember she doesn't snapshot). I don't think bennet c6 make a difference because you build her as dendro damage dealer anyway so his 15% pyro damage bonus and pyro infusion isn't doing much for her.
The problem I have with Furina in Emilie's teams is that as a solo hydro her ER is 200+ and her dmg output will be quite affected. Sigewinne can actually help with this problem by providing reliable teamwide healing, lowering Furina's ER requirement by a lot (also allowing her to use Key), and giving her a sizable dmg buff. It all depends on whether C6 Bennett + Emilie is enough Pyro to keep Burning up and allow Furina to vape. I'm excited to see how this team does
I 36* with double Dendro Burgeon day 1 of Sumeru, using Kokomi/Thoma/Collei/Dendro MC. Kokomi's great hydro app get's through the burning Aura to make Blooms while double Dendro ensures it doesn't overwrite the Dendro aura. No doubt that it'll work even better with Nahida and Emilie. Can alternatively run Baizhu/Emilie/Xingqiu/Thoma, where the Hydro must specifically be C6 Xingqiu and you want to be touching enemies with his sword shield. You tried it with C0 Yelan but she doesn't apply as much Hydro. Maybe Ayato instead could work, but dunno if there'll be enough Dendro without Baizhu as on-fielder.
I know the age old rule is to not pull based on future potential but… you cant convince me she isnt made to synergize with the upcoming Natlan characters
I absolutely love turret characters, but I'm seriously considering skipping this one. I think burning is by far the least satisfying Dendro reaction, and I'm foreseeing pretty "strict" team compositions. if I'm playing Pyro I'm probably playing Xiangling or Hu Tao, and if I'm playing those, I probably want to Vape, not have a Burning Aura. If HoyoV is going to try to sell me a very restrictive unit, that unit should be able to do something truly unique, or deal truly ungodly amounts of damage. If her team damage is about on pair with other good teams composed of much more flexible units, what is the point? Even if Furina Emilie Vape is like the top DPS team in the game, if that is basically the only actually good Emilie team I am not going to be impressed. Worst part is that I was really excited for a character which is an upgrade on Dendro MC for off-field dendro application. But oh well, there's bound to be good units coming with Natlan.
Maybe not like Freminet, maybe like Navia? Freminet apparently isn't particularly strong before C6, Navia pops off at C0 and as long as you Crystalise a lot you're good to go.
@@cleod7439 you need a Crystalise reaction to provide a buff to your skill, and you need continuous crystallisation. I don't remember how often you need to Shatter for Freminet?
Omg I've had amazing crit pieces on Deepwood that I never got to use since the Dendro character I have are either like Al Haitham (prefer Gilded) or like Nahida (prefer EM or other specific stat). I might roll for Emilie just so I cause use those pieces 😭😭
Best luck to everyone that pull for her, I wish you earlies and triples Emilie in 1 10 pull. I won't go for her : her kit doesn't interest me and I am more interested to see what Natla has to offer. She will be good etc. but it's not enough for me tbh. I need a package : liking the kit, design, character temper/story and here, well it's missing so no pulls; maybe I'll change my mind on a rerun.
