I've heard from other dealers (about the GOLD sticker)...that it is not merely "up to the next full grade higher"...rather: that MINIMALLY, IT'S ONE FULL GRADE HIGHER; and that it could be more than that. Thanks for making the video.

CAC only accepts PCGS or NGC slabs for sticker consideration.

My long term goal is to have my entire Carson City Morgan silver dollar set all in CAC. Right now I have the 79, 81,89, 93 in CAC, so I have a long way to go. For higher dollar coins, I do think CAC is what most what to see. Great video!

I called NGC on Crossovers: As my understanding per the phone conversation about how they grade (holdered coins)...THEY will crack out all coins that are holdered; regardless of the TPG, unless it's PCGS. Therefore in order for NGC to grade your holdered coin...they will crack it out: unless it's PCGS.

I know it’s a limited sample size, but of the 5 Morgans I sent to CAC, I was lucky enough to get 4 green beans. I have a video on my channel about it.

Dealers are unwilling to pay Greysheet BID on almost any numismatic coin - unless they judge it to be undergraded, with or without a CAC sticker. PCGS, NGC, and ANACS haven’t been accurate in grading since they chose to abandon their original conservative standards in 1996-1997 when they initiated GRADEFLATION to boost resubmissions and thus, profits. And there has never existed consistency in coin grading, even before third-party certification, as it’s all in the eye and mind of the individual. Honestly, I’ve never heard the term: “illustrious” in the field of numismatics. 🤔

CAC was, is, and will be a controversial subject. In the early days of CAC, John A. loved to sticker well preserved but crusty coins, believing that verified originality. Eventually the market made him alter his opinion since the majority of collectors (including myself) prefer, and will pay up for, white lustrous silver coins. I am a strong believer in the CAC process, and in most cases, prefer to purchase stickered coins, because they are of superior quality (usually, but not always - more than once I have commented “now why the heck did they sticker THAT !”) At shows, some dealers love CAC, some pooh-pooh it. Can’t please everyone !

Having been intimately involved in the hobby / business for nearly six decades, I have personally examined in auctions hundreds of CAC-stickered PCGS- and NGC-certified coins over the last 15+ years which I felt were undeserving of being called accurately graded, let alone of premium quality. Many less experienced collectors have a very difficult time distinguishing between a coin with original surfaces and one that has been conserved or restored in some way.
