Lol, but he was definitely chilling in Gorilla for this interference, that's why they had Starks interfere from the ramp, so Sting could just causally walk out of gorilla and onto the ramp way while the lights are off and then they put the lights back on and boom! IT'S STIIIIIIING!!!

By the match, and how it was portrayed, Cage had the match won, Cage should have won, and the way they played up Darby getting in Cage's head? Leading to the loss through an Avalanche crucifix pin? Never saw that shit coming, and honestly I don't think I've seen an avalanche crucifix to begin with. Definitely a great way to put Darby over (as he shouldn't lose) in a match against Cage who by all reason looked like he had won the match.

Sting is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time even at 61 that bat is deadly, Sting took out the whole NWO with that bat! Stays in great shape he's a gym rat, this generation has the attention span of a squirrel!
Agreed Brian cage beat him up like almost the entire match. Darby didn't quit and managed to squeaked a win. This is my fave match and booking was perfect imo. Darby could not lose on his first title defense.

@@VlogswithGavin45 Yeah, feels like it’s just plain laziness. Sometimes they upload a clip of the screen suddenly blacking out and transitioning into a different part of the match, basically just letting you know that they didn’t even bother editing out the commercial breaks.

I disagree. The mentioned darby's weight and honestly Its getting old building up the big guys to lose to darby and cody lol I thought they should've pulled the trigger on mjf imo even if it seemed too early
I like how Taz isn't just angry when Darby gets the upper hand, he sounds genuinely worried for Cage. It fits well with him throwing in the towel against Mox, and sets up a possible story about how he's gone soft since his ECW days.
Darby/Cage didn't disappoint, I really loved Darby's Coffin Drop into the steel steps, just straight brutal. The appearance of Sting at the end when Darby was suffering the numbers game was great too, he evened the odds a bit took Starks out with his bat and allowed Darby to finish the match with a top rope crucifix pin excellent!! The partnership between Sting and Darby Allin can only grow stronger.
Make Cage look strong as hell, Make Darby look tough as nails taking the beating he took? Not falling for the same old "Normal roll up gimmick pin" and actually moving for an avalanche crucifix pin? I mean, for a match that Darby should have absolutely lost, where we couldn't have him lose? this was one hell of a way to do it.
This whole match was awesome. It accomplished exactly what it needed to, it made Cage look like an absolute monster, while also making Darby look damn near invincible in terms of resilience, winning the match with intestinal fortitude and cleverness over brawn. They kept the interference to a minimum, which has been a bit of an annoyance of mine with some of the Team FTW stuff, let Sting finally do something, without it taking away from Darby's win, and let him overcome the monster. I might have had him punctuate the crucifix bomb with a coffin drop just for good measure maybe, but I bought that ending just fine either way.
Honestly the belt thing was a little annoying. I'd like AEW to be a little more clear on what constitutes a DQ but you'd think tying someone's legs would!
@@princeDinger I did question that a little, I would have just had the ref actually try to remove the belt from his legs as soon as possible and maybe try to admonish Darby a little more, but there was a lot going on quickly. I definitely do think the AEW refs are a little too lenient on that stuff though sometimes.
I love jeff but the issue with him was his addiction which was one the reasons he didnt get pushed at first and got released first. If he never had those issues he would had been 100x the bigger star that he was.
nah, jeff wasnt ready for it after the hardys parted ways in the early 2000s but he was booked perfectly leading up to armageddon 2008. His reign was the disappointing part but it had some bright spots.
I think Darby has been the most consistently well booked character on the aew roster. From the start he’s been built as a star and to see him as champion just seems right.
OMG this is EXACTLY what I wanted. It’s like I booked it myself, DARBY getting the blood beat out of him, CAGE looking strong, STING getting involved, and DARBY retaining. I swear, this is everything I wanted it to be.
@@spaciest_sleet6137 my point is his matches look phony as hell and people lose interest in him as a wrestler. There was nothing about this match that played to his strengths, if anything he came off looking bad by losing to Darby.

Darby and orange are great baby faces and mjf is one of the best heels of this generation, I never wanted to spit at someones face then punch him in a long time and thats good for a heel
I feel like Starks is gonna get the TNT belt of Darby and then eventually turn on Team Tazz because Cage couldn't get the job done. Might stay heel or go face based on that. All of this is based on his facial expressions lmao
IT'S STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGG!!!! He's gonna make a great manager for Darby Allin. I wouldn't be surprised if Sting starts another faction in AEW, with Darby leading the way

People saying that someone is overrated or this is the best song ever when the song is either really good or just really mediocre. And channels with subscribers in the thousands 2ill be compared to people in the millions to say that X is better than Y but Y only has more subscribers because of some irrelevant reason.

Exactly, Darby needed to lose this match and Cage move onto Sting for him to be pushed as a main eventer. With this finish they just made Cage look bad again.
