🍀 Now that Euro 2024 is over (Viva Espana!) all eyes can now fully turn to Celtic's preparations ahead of the new campaign.
And with that, are we finally about to see a flurry of activity as Brendan Rodger's looks to bolster his first team squad?
The suggestion is that not one, but two goalkeepers are on the way, with the club also nudging closer to permanent deals for Adan Idah and Paolo Bernardo amongst other deals.
Its welcome news after a quiet summer so far and its well timed as the Bhoys get set to head for the States for a 3-game tour out there.

I’d like to see Joshua Clarke as the 3rd choice goalie. I’d love a boy for our own academy studying and learning under Schmeichel. Bain is stopping the progression of those younger goalkeepers. I dont think Oluwaymi hasn’t done great on his loans. Didn’t impress when with the b team either. Clarke has always impressed. I’d like to see more of big Dane Murray now as well he done well when Ange first came being thrown into qualifiers he seems to have got those horrible injuries behind him. Ben Summers is another young player I’d like to see a pathway for because if not I see him at a Liverpool like Ben Doak. Tricky little attacking midfielder with a lot of creativity. Great to have the pod back amazing as always!!

Clarke can still study and learn under Schmeichel, having Bain just stops us having to throw him in the way we did Conor Hazard and that was not good for the player - it's never good to throw young player in who aren't ready, Rodgers talks about it a lot in terms of 'exposing' players and it's an absolute no no if the concern is development. Clarke won't be handed the role of third keeper at Celtic, he'll have to earn it and that is a good thing.

Would def like to see it Danielle - if Clarke is good enough. He finished the season at Ayr and seemed to do fairly well. Not sure about how Oluwayemi done in Austria, never followed much of that last season. I've always been a fan of dane Murray and heard good things of him before he got his chance under Ange. Hoping he can step in this season and bring something to the squad. Thanks as always for supporting TCE 🙌🍀

Peter looking across the river at the fact they’re having to pawn jewellery….no, it’s not about to begin, there will be no spree. Now, I don’t want that misunderstood. Money will be spent. An as yet undetermined amount of that money will be completely wasted. We might get 5 in to find 2 who make the starting 11. There will be no £10+m buys and frankly, nor should there be. If you’re worth more than ten mil, and the wages that will demand, you should have a level of ability that would make Scottish football of no progressive benefit to you. We need to find the ten mil players before they’re ten mil players. But our recruitment dept appears to have a level of talent and willingness lower than most. So, those finds are once every 2-3 years. As for timescale, this is a constant failing of the club. It’s indisputable that 20 training sessions with new teammates is better for the team than 2 training sessions. But as per we’ll be playing games with players in the team who don’t fully understand their role yet. Pretty standard Celtic stuff.

I don’t understand the hold up on Bernardo. If you give away 50% sell on you are giving away much much more than the £2-3m you save. If you think he is good enough he will sell for over 10m so we lose money later. While we have money in bank we should back ourself to be buying quality that we can profit on later. It’s basic math.

PL low balled and cost us John McGinn, he messed him and his agent around. Villa didn’t mess around and we lost him. McGinn would have given us years of excellent service but PL scuppered it. I still have the text from McGinns agent to me to back this up.

@@jamieokane989 PL will not let Celtic move on that’s this issue. Recent best signings made in PLs abscence. We have a record bursting bank balance and risk losing players due to a wage structure and a board that doesn’t move on. I do want to move on and would like to do better in Europe, I appreciate its hard to attract top quality players to spfl but there has to be ambition and a tight fisted board kills that. H H

@@Darren.ftk. Too many to remember them all, tillio, Yang, oh, kwon, Holm, seigrist…… Geomakis and juranovic left not because they were unhappy or not good enough but they were underpaid. We all love the Club and have our opinions but I think we would all benefit from a change at board room level. We have achieved brilliantly domestically but been humiliated in Europe. Most supporters will be dreading CL ties with current squad ( defence in particular) and this shouldn’t be thr case with record bursting bank balance, imo. H H

Could never understand the silly panic from some of our fans over the lack of signings so far in the window. Rodgers would never have agreed to return unless he had some guarantees from the Board. But getting top players to come to Scotland is far from easy and we need the right players not the dross sort that are arriving across the city. The Board is one of the best in the business in reaching great deals so let's relax and wait and see who we manage to grab. Speed is not important only that we get to the end of the window with some decent players. 👍😊
