@@ciphercipher8196 He has already said that he loves his woodpecker tools, but, that doesn't mean he isn't impartial. His video shows all the negatives and positives of all the tools he's comparing. At the end of it, it's up to the viewer to make their decision.

Hi. I just watched this and greatly appreciate it. You had my attention throughout the demonstration. I personally do not think an apology for the time you spent is warranted. People watch Star Wars with no gripe and probably wish the episodes were longer. If you had any more to put on this I would have been just as interested.

It is crazy people expect a 5 minute video on how to do something. I took a class and our teacher had to keep showing us how to use these things for several days cause you really don't get it from a 5 minute quickly put together video.

I have the larger Milwaukee speed square, and I love it. The lip for hooking onto the side of the board is larger than my recently replaced empire speed square. It's great for being able to lock into the rounded corners of a 2x4, and a csharp carpenters pencil fits into the graduated notches well. Not all full size speed squares have those and they are really awesome to have. I don't find the thickness of the blade to be an issue, I just make sure I'm above my work properly. I also use the edge of my pencil lead to lock into the groove of the marking and rotate it down onto the workpiece. It's not inconvenient at all really. I'm very happy with it. I even use it in my shop, almost done with my son's new dresser.

I use the Milwaukee 4 1/2 and 7". I do folk art and they save me measuring time, they help when cutting, assembling, and glueing. Wonderful addition to my tool kit.

Just wanted to say I have really enjoyed the last few videos with their detailed explanation of these tools and their differences. Not only does it get me to think about which one would be best suited to my needs it also helps me, as a newer woodworker, really understand how to get full use out of these tools and understand their purposes. I just got the Milwaukee package square deal from home depot over the holidays and the smaller square is the best for small trim and finish work..but I still perfer woodpeckers tools for the shop environment only..one day I'll be able to get all the woodpeckers tools Great videos as always very informative and NO YOUR VIDEOS ARE NOT TOO LONG ..I appreciate that you go into detail and explain everything on that particular product..no need for a manual instructions guide when we have you 🤣🛠👊😎👍

Me too. I use the notches on the inside to align my pencil to what ever increment I'm using. I'm not a fine cabinet maker so the Milwaukee does just fine for me.

Head to head comparisons are a critical component in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of various offerings. That may sound over the top for a piece of equipment like this, but I have, unfortunately, been subject to medical treatments that sorely needed this type of “apples to apples” comparison. I’ll leave it at that. Thanks for helping people make better informed decisions! It’s actually pretty important. :)

Your opening comment of Feature Rich when describing the Woodpecker square caught my attention. There's an endless number of videos describing price and value but few offer content. This was certainly worth watching.

I find the consistency of woodpeckers is spot on. Its hit or miss with the cheaper brands.

I've been using the milwaukee since it came out. The offset at the bottom has a different use as well. 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch are the most used reveals used on trimming doors and window casings so its super fast to mark where ur trim should be nailed up it saves so much time

I have a Woodpeckers Delve Square and absolutely LOVE it! I use it ALL the time. It’s fantastic for laying out tennons on 3/4” material, and about a million other things too!

The people who think your videos are too long are free not to watch them. The length is clearly shown in the time stamps. Nicely done, impartial review. I have been slowly buying the Woodpeckers tools over the years, and have always found them to be high quality. That said, the Milwaukee trim square looks like a nice unit to carry around for 'field' work where you don't want to risk damaging the nicer WP square. The Banggood one looks ok, too, but unfortunately like you I don't think in metric.

First, seeing another woodworkers bench , say, " in use " is a great break from the norm on RU-vid. IMO, it adds credibility to the review as its most likely truly "in use " 👍. Second the transparency of how the tool is acquired adds to it. The long form, true use, no nonsense video format without advertisements or pitches isn't a problem in my opinion, as it truly is what more RU-vid content SHOULD be. That, your ability to narrate with insight and talents displayed in other content makes these must watch videos. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. I didn't mind the length. You provided a thorough review. Here is how to easily check the squareness of the tool. Use a piece of lumber that you know has a perfectly straight edge. Place the square on this edge and draw a 90° line. Now, flip the square over and lay the 90° edge along the line you drew. If the square is exactly 90°, it will lay perfectly on the first line.

I wasn't going to comment, but the last thing you said made me want to say something. Don't apologize for the length of this kind of video. You put a lot of prep time in this one, and it's appreciated. I have a lot of sweat equity in another YT channel, and although I haven't done anything there in about a decade, I have rather vivid memories of serious time and attention put into most of those videos. I spent quite a few dollars in the course of making them as well. I can see when another You Tuber puts the same level of attention into their own work. My only rule of thumb about length was to keep it under two minutes if it was a video meant to be entertaining, but with no intrinsic value in the content. If it was meant to be informative, though, I couldn't possibly have made a quality video using that rule. At any rate, I enjoyed watching this video. I have two speed squares, but at the moment they're serving better as tools in artwork than in woodwork.

Thank you for an outstanding explanation of these tools. You covered so many points I never would have considered. Everything from the thickness of the blade and how that can change the performance of the tool to how the finish can possibly change the consistency of measurements changes how I see the tools I use. I think I need to get myself a triangle now. Speeding up tenon layout is such a huge quality of life improvement. Thanks again for taking the time to produce these videos.

Got my Delve Square last week and couldn’t be happier. Using it to build a console table and bathroom toilet paper/wipes stand. My favorite feature is the small size. I’m the worst when it comes to setting down tools and forgetting where I put them. With the Delve, I just drop it in my pocket and it can’t get lost.

I've said this before - you put out such relevant videos to me that are answering actual questions on my mind. And you put so much quality and thought into it. No sensationalizing, click bait etc. I find that some of the other content creators are more and more becoming inaccessible to me. This is not a criticism on them as they need to evolve but seems everyone has a CNC, 3D Printer etc these days and I just don't find it helpful to click on a how-to video and proceed to watch it being printed. I guess it just means it's me that is not evolving fast enough ;-). Thanks also for doing a giveaway. Crossing my fingers for the Woodpecker as it would be my first nice premium tool!

I have the Milwaukee 4" square in my apron pocket and I use it all the time, but didn't know about the very handy measurements built into the sizes of the parts of the square. Fantastic! Even more useful to me now! Thank you for the detailed explanation & demonstration for making layout lines.
