The northern winter solstice is either on the 21st or 22nd December - Christmas Day is three days later ! On the Dead Sea Scroll's Biblical calendar, the Day of Atonement on our 28th September, is the most solemn, most holy day of the Biblical calendar - undoubtedly the day on which Jesus Christ, Yahshua our Messiah, was born ! Despite His birth, Joseph and Mary would have kept the Day of Atonement accordingly, and may even have wondered about the importance of the circumstances. Little did they all suspect then as they looked down on the manger, that that Child of God - the picture of innocence, pure as the driven snow, white as wool - would thirty three years later afflict their souls with His brutal, bloody Passover crucifixion: Born to die for our crimson sins ! Is that why this is such a Solemn Day ? We can eat but we cannot cook/work on the weekly Sabbath. Why is the Day of Atonement a High Day Sabbath but is also without any cooking like the weekly Sabbath ? It is because we have to fast on this day and so afflict our souls (see Leviticus 23:23-32). Why ? The second half of the year almost mirrors the first half of the year. It is interesting to note that the 28th September Day of Atonement on the tenth day of the seventh Biblical month before the Feast of Tabernacles, corresponds to the same day that the Passover lamb is separated on the 30th March and the tenth day of the first Biblical month before the Feast of Unleavened Bread ! That is why we must afflict our souls by fasting on the Day of Atonement: It is now actually in recognition of the atoning sacrifice that Christ determined to give us when “six days before the Passover” He arrived in Bethany on the 9th Abib (see John 12:1-15). There “where Lazarus was” Christ had supper after sunset starting the 10th Abib. On a lowly donkey the next day, still the 10th Abib, thousands with palm fronds hailed Christ as “Hosanna” of Israel [Greek hoshia-na, of Hebrew nâ‛ yâsha‛, naw yaw-shah′ = Oh save ( savior )]. “Yahshua” finally entered Jerusalem, walked into the Temple and looked all around, before leaving at sunset (“eventide/even” between two successive days). i.e. Hailed by thousands at Jerusalem, the Passover Sacrificial Lamb had gladly separated and presented Himself in the Temple: on the 10th day of Abib ! (see Mark 11:1-11, Exodus 12:3-11) Christ’s body was hurriedly laid in the tomb at eventide/even/sunset - four days later ! It is also interesting to note that the 50 year Jubilee is announced on the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of the seventh month before the Feast of Tabernacles (see Leviticus 25:9), corresponding to the same day that the Passover lamb is separated on the tenth day of the first month before the Feast of Unleavened Bread ! Abstaining from work and food on the Day of Atonement is the least we can do in appreciation of Christ's atoning sacrifice for us ! Every little pang of hunger should remind us of the horrendous ordeal Christ went through for us. In fact if we don't show this appreciation for Christ's sacrifice, His Father says: “For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.” (Leviticus 23:29-30) This connection between the Day of Atonement and the Passover was recognised at the time of Christ. They had a “custom” of releasing a prisoner at the Passover, in parallel with the instructions of the Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16: to choose two goats for an atoning sin offering. One was sacrificed and the other was chased into the wilderness: Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. ( Pilate spoke the truth ! ) But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? (John 18: 37-39) Only by taking all the relevant Biblical quotes, into one compatible rationalisation, can we get to the truth ! Work Christ's gestation BACKWARDS from the Day of Atonement birth on the 28th September, and you get to the 6th January Epiphany conception; and 12 days further back you get to December 25th ! Working another 12 days FORWARDS from the Day of Atonement birth, you get to the Feast of Tabernacle's Last Great Day ! Strange that Christmas Day is 12 days BEFORE the Epiphany conception 265 day gestation and birth on the Day of Atonement, and then 12 days AFTER that is the Last Great Day - just like the "four and twenty elders" around the Throne of God in Revelations ! Are these the "Twelve Days of Christmas"🎶 around Christ in the womb ? 25th December was also never a part of the Roman festival of Saturnalia. 2+6+5=13 John the Baptist's gestation was also 265 days and he was born on the 10th Abib - the same day the Lamb of God came down the Mount of Olives on a donkey proclaimed in Greek as "Oh Saviour" ("Hosannah"), with the way being prepared for him with palm fronds - on the birthday of John the Baptist who prepared the way for Him, and the same day the Passover lamb is selected. i.e the 25th of December started Mary's follicular phase and Christ was conceived on the 13th day Epiphany on the 6th of January and then born on the Day of Atonement on the 28th September ! 12 disciples + Christ = 13 Don't let pagans steal and demonise our Christmas Biblical "day of gladness" without an in depth investigation first. I also made that same mistake on this journey.....

It is Pagan. It's literally a Pagan holiday. Early Christians wanted Pagans to worship their god instead of their own. That's why they invented their own holiday and tried to take in Pagan rituals. It's the reason the Christians decided to celebrate their god's birth on the same day Pagans celebrated their own holiday. Christ was never born anywhere near December, and everyone knows it.

It's like you didn't watch the video at all. Xtians wanted to celebrate the birth of Jesus. They picked the date based on the date of his death. @@judosailor610 It's funny and weird when you think about it. If Romans didn't celebrate Saturnalia, there would be no Christmas today. The entire holiday is based on, and evolved from, a Roman god and then Christians came along later and slapped a cheap "Jesus" sticker on it to make it their own, despite it having absolutely nothing to do with Jesus Christ or his birth. the Bible doesn't even say anything about it (except for all the idolatry Christians do during the holiday). @@judosailor610 So much of what Christmas is comes from Saturnalia, where Romans celebrated in the Temple of Saturn, and in the Roman Forum, and a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying. The Roman Christians didn't want to give up the holiday, so they slapped a "Jesus" sticker on it and said it was to celebrate his birth, despite Jesus never being born anywhere near the last week of December. Christians today, celebrate Christmas, not because of Jesus' birthday, but because of the Roman pagan holiday, we still celebrate today. That's amazing. @@Michael-pn5lp You went through all that with a fair amount of decent knowledge concerning the Day of Atonement and Passover, just to wheel it back by affirming and even tying this pagan observance to some spiritual symbolic importance to Jesus Christ the Lord. This is blasphemous! First of all we don't know that Jesus was born on Day of Atonement, but the Bible indicates He may have been born around the Autumn Festivals such as Sukkot but there is no specific pin point day. Secondly Day of Atonement was actually on the 24th/25th of September this year, it is supposed to be according to God's calendar which He ordained to be a Lunar-Solar one (Gen 1:14,15). The dead sea scrolls are not authoritative and it's calendar is not fully accurate. Jesus Christ's birth or anything about Him has no relation WHATSOEVER to the 25th of December! The Romans DID celebrate on december 25th: In AD 274, the emperor Aurelian instituted the festival Dies Natalis Solis Invicti ('birthday of the Invincible Sun') on 25 December, the date of the winter solstice in the Roman calendar. In Rome, this yearly festival was celebrated with thirty chariot races. Gary Forsythe, Professor of Ancient History, says "This celebration would have formed a welcome addition to the seven-day period of the Saturnalia (December 17-23), Rome's most joyous holiday season since Republican times, characterized by parties, banquets, and exchanges of gifts". Don't be fooled by the Roman church who have crafted all these fables to try and tie the birth of the Lord and Saviour to this damn festivity. This is outright sun worship and veneration, it is ultimately worshipping the sun being "reborn" not the Son of God (Jer 10:1,2, Deut 18v10-14, Gal 4:8-11). It is the worship and celebration of the resurrection of tammuz the sun god (Ezek 8v13-17, Deut 4v15-19), who is the son of Semiramis aka Ishtar aka the queen of heaven (Jer 7:18) who is worshipped at easter. The Romans are sun worshippers hence why they changed the day of Sabbath to sunday and falsely misinterpret scripture saying Christ rose on sunday when He did not, He rose on Sabbath because He's the Lord of the Sabbath, died on the 4th day and rose on the 7th. Rome has done this with all the things that they've brought over from paganism and brandishing them as Christian; like turning samhain into all saints day, it is folly and sinful (Job 14:4). I would that you look deeply into the history again and see that this has nothing to do with the Lord and He doesn't want you celebrating this wicked day, He is a jealous God and will not share His glory with another which is what you're doing when celebrating this, it's worship of tammuz (Exo 34v14, Isa 42:8, Isa 44:6). Hanukkah just passed you can celebrate that as did the Lord (John 10:22,23). The Lord wants you to keep His Sabbaths (which includes High Sabbaths) and New Moons, those are pleasing unto Him (Lev 26:2, Lev 23, Num 10v10, Psa 81:3-5, Isa 66:23, Ezek 46:3). God makes it clear that He hates syncretic worship, blending in pagan customs with worship of Him and also following the heathens way in general (Deut 6v13-15, Deut 16v21,22, Lev 18:1-5_24-30, Lev 20v26, Exo 19:5,6, 2 Cor 6:14-18, Psa 96:5, 1 Cor 10:19-22, Deut 7:1-6, Deut 12:1-3, Deut 6:4,5, Exo 20:1-3). If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing His covenant, and hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; and it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Ysrael: then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they d*e. At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of de*th be put to de*th; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to de*th. The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to de*th, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you. Deuteronomy 17:2-7 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Ysrael: thus saith the LORD, learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. Jeremiah 10:1,2 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? @@danielellis3335 The Sadducee Temple priests officiated the weekly Sabbaths and High Days at the time of Christ, who never contested their solar calendar. In 66AD the Pharisee Anti-Roman (Anti-Fasces/ANTIFA) Zealot rebels, seized control of the Temple. When contested for control, 20000 Judean 'Jewish' Edomites assisted the Zealots and murdered most of the Sadducee aristocracy, priests and hundreds of the Jerusalem populace. The ANTIFA Zealot rebels then appointed their own accursed lunar calendar high priest, who was the last to be seen standing in the Holy Place THREE AND A HALF YEARS later, when the prince of the Roman Empire arrived and desolated Jerusalem, Judea and the Jews in 70 AD - culminating in the taking of Masada another THREE AND A HALF YEARS AFTERWARDS. Most of the Christians, remembering Christ's words, escaped to Jordan between the two sieges of Jerusalem - the first siege by General Gallus who then strangely withdrew from Judea, and the second by "prince" Titus son of the new Emperor. These SEVEN YEARS are the fulfillment of Daniels prophesy. Surviving Pharisees continued to enforce their lunar calendar 'sabbaths and high days' in the Synagogues, which they controlled - hiding the Sadducee Temple calendar from the people. Constantine managed to establish the Resurrection day as Sunday in 30 AD on their Julian calendar, which actually overlapped the Biblical weekly Sabbath THAT year. Unable to establish the Biblical calendar, Constantine changed Sunday to the first day of his new Roman week, in honour of the Resurrection. Later Constantine's son Constantius ll, knowing the Pharisee's lunar interpretation of the Biblical calendar to be Babylonian and Canaanite, forbade them from signaling the start of their lunar months across the Empire from Jerusalem. As a concequence, Hillel ll was forced to choose a Roman day for their weekly 'sabbath', and he chose Saturday - the seventh day of Constantine's NEW Roman week. The rest of their lunar calendar they kept by Rabbinical calculation. Thus the true Biblical Temple calendar was lost until the discovery of the Dead Sea Scroll's. The Dead Sea Scroll's solar calendar, corrected to the Sadducee 19th Abib Omer Wave Sheaf, is the correct Biblical calendar, revealing the weekly Sabbaths and High Days - which is why the Zionist State of Israel suppressed them for 40 years before they were leaked out on micro fish copies. Saturday was only chosen as the Jewish 'sabbath' by Heliel II about 300 years after Christ. He standadised the Jewish calendar. Even before that, the weekly 'sabbath' they kept was the Babylonian lunar 'sabbath' that the Pharisees introduced and enforced in the Synagogues, after the Temple was destroyed in 70AD. The true weekly Sabbath was already hidden by the Pharisees in favour of the Babylonian lunar interpretation of the Biblical calendar. Knowing this, Constantine's son forbade them from signaling their pagan lunar calendar observations across the Roman Empire. However Constantine himself was unable to determine the true Biblical weekly Sabbath, but he was able to determine that Christ was resurrected in that year on the Roman solar calendars "Sunday". Therefore, in honour of the resurrection he changed Sunday to the first day of his NEW Roman week, and also made Sunday the day of rest. Without Roman authority to signal their Babylonian lunar 'sabbath' across the empire, Hillel II and other anti-Christ Jews were forced to choose a Roman weekday as their "new sabbath" and he chose the seventh day of Constantine's new Roman week - i.e. "Saturday" ! Rabbi 'Sages' don't tell you all this and most Rabbis don't even know this themselves ! Karaite Jews today still keep the Babylonial lunar calendar and many Christians have been seduced into doing the same. Jericho was an ancient lunar calendar observation city dedicated to and named after their moon god. The Bible called Jericho the "accursed city" and Joshua was commanded to totally destroy it and its inhabitants after marching around it once for six consecutive days, and seven times on the seventh day - i.e. 13 times in total ! I think that, as opposed to the Second Advent and the "Marriage of the Lamb" that nobody knows when, the preceding "great and dreadful day of the Lord" can actually be established as the 20th March 2031. The world will feel that ominous consuming fire approaching and will run around trying to hide, while Christians enter into their inner prayer "chambers". When the Christians come out, there will be no OTHER flesh and blood survivers - who will be burnt up and trodden "as ash under their feet." They will mourn for their friends and relatives who weren't "saved", but SOMETIME afterwards will witness the return of Christ coming from east to west. Raising their eyes they will be transformed in an instant, allowing them to rise up and meet His RETURN. Thereafter, they will be consoled when He "wipes the tears" from their eyes and takes care of them like as "calves of the stall". That's how I perceive these future Biblical events. Don't the dead in Christ rise "first" - a great multitude ? Then those living Christians that are "left" come safely out of their prayer chambers - AFTER the "wrath", to "tread upon the ashes of the wicked who have been removed from the earth" - "The righteous shall NEVER be removed but the wicked shall be cut off". These "saved" righteous remnant "lift up their eyes", and are then "changed in the twinkling of an eye", and able to rise up and meet Christ returning with this great host..... The chronology in the Septuagint is a few hundred years longer than in the Masoretic Text: The imminent millennial reign of Christ on earth coincides with Yahweh's 2nd 'day' of rest - "and His rest shall be glorious" because His Son is ruling on earth for that 1000-year-day. Will we qualify to enter into that glorious "day" of rest ? So if Yahweh's first "day" of rest was ALSO a thousand-year-day, in which Adam died at 930 years old "in the same day" he sinned, and Adam was also created near the end of the previous 6th 'day', then we are currently near the end of the 13th thousand-year-day which actually ends on the "great and dreadful day of the Lord" on the 20th March 2031. There is no doubt that Christ spent three full nights and three full days in the tomb, but how long did He hang on the tree/stake/cross ? Surely even in death Yahshua fulfilled every law of His Father ! i.e. Christ could not have been left on the cross overnight for nearly 12 hours before a “morning start of day”, or 18 hours before a “mid- day start of day” ! The day therefore does indeed start at sunset ! John 19:31 supports the view that Christ was crucified and died on the afternoon of the 14th Abib preparation day, was taken down from the cross and placed in the tomb at eventide/sunset demarcating the days. The 15th Abib Passover High Day Sabbath then commenced at sunset. Christ had to be off the cross by sunset. He was in the tomb for three full nights and three full days before His 4th day resurrection - as Lord of the Sabbath Day on the next WEEKLY Sabbath, which was the “First of the Sabbaths” after the Passover, initiating the Feast of Weeks count to Pentecost. All the DSS's WEEKLY Sabbaths are correct and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Day of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles with it's Last Great Day. However the Dead Sea Scrolls does differ with the Sadducee Temple Priest's Feasts of Weeks by starting one week after the Temple's Feast of Weeks. Zachariah, John the Baptist's father officiated in the Temple, so that Feast of Weeks is the correct one for this reason and other reasons as well.

@@danielellis3335 The ancient pagan Greeks named the days of the week after the sun and visible planets. The seventh day was named after Saturn. They also followed a lunar calendar that they later enforced on their foreign subjects whom they tried to Hellenize. So if the Greek word for the seventh day is now Σάββατο, when and how did the transition take place from Saturn ? Also note that when following a strict lunar calendar, every seventh day of the lunar calendar year is not a "lunar sabbath".

Trees are not pagan in of itself. Pagans just used trees and made them pagan or dedicated them wrongfully to false gods. We don't have to allow their pagan concepts to have power over what is actually God's creations. Stop this fear mongering and conspiracy that pagan gods actually live in that tree that you consider fir trees and generic decorations pagan and therefore taboo. It's only pagan because they dedicate the tree and fashion it's wood into an idol statue while decorating it with gold and silver from Upaz and Tarshish and then venerating it. It's not the tree itself that is pagan but what you do with it. Stop attaching things to pagan gods when you don't believe in them and that they don't really have power over it. Can't other people be it modern day Germans, British and Americans use it for decorations of the winter festive atmosphere for generic decorative purposes. It doesn't have to involve any gods. It's not a bloody religious altar but simply a tree, a foliage and modern generic decorations motivated simply by aesthetic preferences like for interior design and decor and modern references to candy canes, baubles, lights representing like stars shining on trees in the moonlit night like what Martin Luther King saw. I doubt Pagans even have trees like that is more modern American or European in character not their ancient symbols. It takes a little more than trees to be a pagan symbol. See the pentagram. If I want pagan symbols and really worship a pagan god, I wouldn't even buy a Christmas tree but something else which is actually Pagan such as the pentagram star, Guy Fawkes Mask, upside down cross, tarot cards, Wiccan Symbols, occult symbols etc.

The Romans absolutely believed the Winter Solstice fell on December 25. It was only after the introduction of the Julian Calendar that it fell around the 22/23th but the Romans continued to celebrate it on the 25th for centuries. Christians adopted it as Jesus birth date some time in the 3rd century CE because it was 9 months after the Roman Spring Equinox and New Year's Day of March 25, first identified as the date of Jesus's conception (and also the date of creation) by the Christian writer Sextus Julius Africanus in 221 CE. The identification of December 25 with the birth date of Sol Invictus by Aurelian in 274 CE actually does appear to be an attempt by him at reconciliation with Roman Christians as the sun was also seen by them as a symbol of Jesus: Malachi's 'sun of righteousness'; Septuagint Zechariah's 'rising sun; Clement's 'Sun of Resurrection'. Yule did not fall on the Winter Solstice and was instead held around January 19/20 and only made a part of Christmas by Haakon the Good of Norway in the 9th century. Anglo-Saxon pagans did have another feast day on the Winter Solstice called Mother's Night but nothing else is known about it. It is interesting that a time dedicated by them to some kind of motherhood was coincidentally the birth date of the main guy of the Christians though. A medieval scribe in an annotation on the work of the 12th century Syrian bishop Dionysus Bar-Salibi does record that Pagans kindled lights on the festival of the birthday of the Sun on December 25, and that Christians willingly took part in the solemnities and revelries of this festival, and that as a result the Church authorities took counsel and agreed to formalize it as the date of the Nativity. Christmas has certainly been a Christian holiday for a long time regardless of how much it is derived from pagan thought and practise and it seems kind of funny that we still argue about it nowadays.

I’m pagan and tbh I actually don’t think this matters that much. Lots of people having debates about it but we can just celebrate what we want at any time right? I’ll celebrate Yule separate to Christmas etc. but it’s around the same time regardless. Just seems like a history debate that no one actually knows a whole lot about.

Idk how you put up with some of these comment sections, Dan. Kudos to you for having the patience to deal with people who don't understand how human society works or that essentially all religions are syncretic and borrow from one another. No such thing as a pure, uninterrupted, uninfluenced religion

Actually that's what makes Israel's religion different, it does NOT take from other belief systems and is purely strict worship to YHWH. God makes it clear that He hates syncretic worship, blending in pagan customs with worship of Him and also following the heathens way in general. Monotheism is not tolerable and accepting like polytheism or atheism. Deuteronomy 6:13-15, Jeremiah 10:1-3, Deuteronomy 16:21,22, Leviticus 18:1-5_24-30, Leviticus 20:26, Exodus 19:5,6, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, Psalms 96:5, 1 Corinthians 10:19-22, Deuteronomy 7:1-6, Deuteronomy 12:1-3, Deuteronomy 6:4,5, Exodus 20:1-3 We are to be Holy which means Set-Apart from the evil that is all around by walking in the precepts of YHWH. Everybody else serves satan by default who is the prince of this world, satan made the winter solstice celebrations that are in honour of the sun-god tammuz, when the fourth beast Rome converted to Christianity she took her customs with her and branded it "Christian", do your research. God makes it clear that this is unacceptable, whether you choose to believe it or not but at the end of the day truth will prevail (Proverbs 12:19).

There is no where written in Bible that Jesus was born on 25th December. In 325 AD ...king Constantine removed "Passover" and introduced "Christmas". People who wish you "Merry Christmas" unknowingly are cursing you. Because God wanted us to celebrate "Passover" but devil brought "Christmas". Through Passover only sinners can receive salvation and since people celebrate Christmas they will never get salvation.

@shaypark3844
@shaypark3844 7 месяцев назад
The argument is void once you realize that Jesus IS God and that God does not have a birthdate!! He is the beginning and the end!! Yes Jesus came down in the flesh to fulfill the prophecy of dying for our sins. But he is still GOD!! So you are celebrating God’s birthday which makes NO SENSE!! Why else do you think it is not mentioned at all about his date of birth? That is a human thing and man’s tradition. God gave us HOLY DAYS in remembrance of him and instead we choose to celebrate HOLI DAYS as a wicked excuse to participate with the world. But we must be set apart. Let go of the “Christmas spirit”, and lean on the HOLY SPIRIT for understanding. ❤

I'd question wether gift giving can be linked to saturnalia, gift giving really wasn't a major part of most people's celebration of Christmas until the 19th century, that's a big gap for people to adopt ancient roman traditions.

The Bible says we not suppose to copy what the pagans do ie Christmas was pagan and they christaniased it. It’s still wrong no matter how you try to defend it using traditions of man.

Is this not what would be called syncretism? Christmas itself seems to be about Christ, but are there not limited traditions coming out of local traditions into, and blended with the Christians,?
