I am concerned that civility is threatened in our society and that the culture is becoming cruder! Am I worried for nothing! OR should I just stick to reviewing burgers and reading poetry?
I think you made a very good point in addressing the issues of ethics in today's society. It's not bad to question modern culture and some of the unorthodox changes it's brought along. I appreciate your work sir! This video brought a smile to my face.
I am a bit rude as I swear quite a bit but I am trying to drop this bad habit. But even as a young(er) person I was surprised with everything else on your list. It is worrying that people need to be told all these things: I thought we all agreed already to do them? So many things on your list I take for granted and I thought everyone else did as well. When did this change?
I believe that phones/more personal tech devices (tablets, etc) have made us “detached” from each other. Then, to make it worse social media was created. I believe that social media can be used for good and to help people but so far it is used mostly to create more of a “body standard”, hurt people, and so you don’t have to talk to people. I see too often at restaurants people just on their phones instead of talking to people (including dates). I enjoy hearing your perspective and would like more videos like this but I also like the reviewing food, stories, and poetry.
Well said regarding the detachment and impersonal social media! I thought I might get more dislikes and criticism than I did. I risked coming off as an opinionated old person. But I wanted to make just one video like this.
It’s not dead, but it’s not supported or encouraged either. The social contract has been violated so many times, and open hostility and violence is super common, people shoot and kill each other in my city all the time over absolutely nothing.
I agree with the landline. We still have ours! Being late is a sigh of arrogance... their time is more important than yours. A huge pet peeve of mine. You are a true gentleman Trippe.
Thank you very much for the input. I watched some of your more informative videos, and i while i don't agree with everything you say, i take your life experience and the information you so kindly give to us to heart. I think it is great to take in as much advice from everyone as possible, we all have experience in some way in life that we can share with others to help them. You are a very kind soul for things like this. Thank you for your insight.
Hey Trippe, It's Me. I Am Using My Other RU-vid Account To Comment, But I Agree With You. Civility And Politeness Need To Become A Thing Again. Let's All Help Civility And Politeness Rise Over 100%!
I really enjoy videos like this when you share your thoughts with us :) The other day I met a really nice older gentleman who later said his goodbyes to me and my sister by tipping his hat... It was so unexpected (in a lovely way)... Such a small thing to do
If you liked everything else, we are GOOD!!💚 Even if you did not, I respect that! I had several friends who had tatoos! BTW, find a song by the WHO called "tatoo". I love the lyrics and guitar work!
I couldn't agree more with you on the subject. I really wish we could go back to the old days where people were respectful to one another. You can't even wave to a neighbor or a passerby without getting a dirty look. I'd give anything to have a refund on my life just to be able to live in the olden days.
By the way, you may not be the person to the ask, but i myself have been wanting to get into healthier eating and drinking. I excercise but it's useless without good bodily input. Do you have any good tea brands you could recommend to me?
Flossing in the library. Phew. But I have to say - I know why people play loud music. They are disassociating from being in public. I have developed this as a coping mechanism of my anxiety and it helps me stay focused on driving. I didn't understand this before but social anxiety has made me understand this. I guess if it is harming someone, then time to turn it down.
Not at all. It really is nice to have a gentle reminder about the things in life that we so often overlook. Civility, politeness, humility, community, respect, morals, etc. etc. I'm glad you felt that these values are not to be trifled with, and that we all should bring them to the forefront of our consciousness. I stand with you on this matter. I hope that more viewers will pause to listen to your words and recognize the profound importance of them. Keep up the good work!
