A review of Cook Unity, yet another meal delivery service. Compared to Factor and Fresh n lean, I would rank it at the top. For my purposes, it was the cheapest, with some of the best quality, portions, and flavor. I taste test four different meals, walk through the ordering experience, and verify portion weights.

I used Cook Unity for about 8 months in 2023 in Midwest region. I was very happy with the quality and selection of meals. I had an occasional issue with a container arriving opened but customer service was quick to credit my account when contacted. I was getting 12 meals per week and took a break because of redundancy of the menu over time. You mentioned the sodium is not on that packaging, but I do remember seeing the numbers on the website when ordering. It was interesting to see your analysis on actual weight - definitely a service I am considering going back to.

I've tried a LOT of food services and this, by far, is the absolute best. I haven't been disappointed at all and look forward to lunch/dinner (I eat very early). The amount of money spent is basically one or 2 bags of groceries where you get absolutely nothing now days. I'm single so it works out great. I get 4 meals and that is just right for me. It's so much better than Factor.

Thanks for an honest review. I just ordered a Factor box, haven't gotten it yet. But reviews seemed oddly similar, almost scripted. So I stumbled upon your video, and even though it wasn't about Factor, specifically, I learned a lot. And now I have at least 3 options. Hopefully I can juggle between them, and catch the sale prices.

Thanks. I actually did Factor for a while. It's not bad, honestly. I've recently canceled everything to reduce costs, but what I'll say in Factor's favor over Cook Unity is I felt that their vegatables had a bit more variety. I think you're right about the market share thing. I wonder if they're able to hemorrhage money for long enough to gain considerable market share like amazon does with competitors - especially in a space where people can very easily switch subscriptions to another company if they don't like the raised prices later on

I did the Keto selections with Factor and really enjoyed them for the most part. I currently use Cookunity, but they don't offer much of anything for a keto diet thats anywhere comparable to Factors, so I may have to go back.

Would love an update on how future orders from Cook Unity went. If the price drastically increased, if they portions were consistently under the listed weight, etc. Also if you consider changing, trifecta is another highly praised meal delivery that I don't think you've mentioned trying before.

After a year with Factor, because of repetitive delivery issues, we switched over to Cook Unity and after a month, I wish we would have made the switch sooner.

It's an easy win by witnessing how CookUnity meals outnumber the competitors' offering in terms of salmon, shrimp and asian recipes.

Are you sure the serving weight wasn't before it was cooked? Meat will lose quite a bit of weight. I am trying it out in a couple of weeks to see how it is. Price is comparable to some of the nicer meal kits you have to cook yourself.

Weight should be package contents, not pre-cooked weight, as these come already cooked.

Factor is not that great. I've done a lot of these and a lot of them don't look nothing like the pictures. They look like the sad version. These look alright. Would I Try it? Maybe.

I like Cook Unity taste. I always read the reviews before picking the meal. I usually get 3.9 rating meals or higher on the site.

BEWARE OF COOKUNITY. I spent a lot of $$ on meals, only for them to arrive in an open grocery bag. Not in a sealed box with dry ice. I did like the variation of the menu. Great prospects but very poor delivery!

Yes, it's not cheap. My use for these is that they are quick meals that are way healthier than fast food or traditional frozen dinners. It's not much more expensive than drive through these days (in my area at least), and you get actual vegetables and food that isn't all deep fried. Thus, it's mostly to keep me from making unhealthy choices on food whenever I'm hungry and in a hurry. But you're definitely not going to save money compared to cooking for yourself.

@@TechDregs I struggled for a long time before finally committing to prepping meals for the week. I control all the contents and amounts and it costs me a fraction of these types of meal plans. Maybe do a video on how-to, pros/cons and benefits of meal prep?

⁠@@TechDregscookunity seems to be focused around lazy people. If you really did your research their prices are insane. You compare it to McDonald’s and Taco Bell then yes. A healthy chipotle bowl is $12 pretax. Can even split up the bowl for lunch/dinner. The only thing worthwhile there is the chicken katsu😂

Lazy or people who are busier. That's how all convenience items work. You could also say that Chipotle is for lazy people who don't want to cook their own food. And using salsa from a jar is for lazy people who don't want to make their own. And using store bought tomatoes is for lazy people who don't want to grow their own tomatoes. It's all trade offs.

@godmagnus I stand by my statement, and my statement is, of course, mine! It was my place to say it because I was responding to his post! I had a problem with his opinion, and I let it be known! In the end, I took his advice, and I'm loving my meal prep from Cook Unity!

I get why you were worried the way he stated that, I can see how it can scare. I love my orders too. 😅 My favors are the Chili Shrimp and grits and Barbe Que Salad 🥗
