But, today listening to him gave me a perspective on people running for politics. Chris you really bring on guest that make you think and raise the bar. Philosophy is very important! Dr. West leads me to the philosophy behind Augustus nation building. Principled and people loving. The image of God in society. Well that's how he has always affected me. I read an introductory to Reinhold Niebuhr. Essentials. Theology. Next I read more Howard Thurman. I find his ability to retain and expose on subjects with such depth amazing. I've taken notes and followed up with research. He is the real deal! I've had the pleasure to meet him on a few occasions. He was the keynote speaker at a fundraiser I sponsored for our now NYAG James. He's a Prophet y'all. Pay attention to what he does, as well as, what he says. He's no politician, tho he must be heard!

Leaving nato is the only thing I disagree with him really on as far as I know.

Philosophy should be taught to young children, it is not an indoctrination, it is a guidance for us to learn how to think well and think better, and that applies in everything in life, from the minute we get up and for all our lives. It applies first to ourselves, with other human’s inter actions , in business, in all fields where our mind tends to be its own person which is not good news as mind is influenced by hundred of factors which can be our own ennemi…..so learning to be the best friend of our brain, should be the only thing to share with kids. And I believe that if growing up heathy minded….I believe that we wouldn’t have all the issues we are facing as adults……Too many times I have witnessed kids under ten, in schools, in many different places in the world……they are all the same, they are friends with absolutely ALL the kids in their class and school….We adults are the problem and do not respect the purity of those children. His ideas are not to radical. It is he talks about being a good, decent human being and treating everyone with respect. The United States is not about being decent and respectful to others. As we all know that this country was founded on genocide and this government has no problem with supporting Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people. If no one is willing to do anything to stop the genocide I believe that Cornell West will make an attempt to get it done.

I love to hear West speak, but his Christian lens is out of date and narrow, especially for the post-modern world we live in now. Humanism trumps religion in regard to putting human beings above narrow religious claims and bigotry. I know West speaks of libertory Christianity, but he doesn't need to. There is a larger philosophy of humanism and the moral foundations of social justice that go way beyond religion.

We would need Politicians to have more Philosophical background, which is part of every day life too. I love ideas. Thank you for this. I think part of the problem is Ivy League universities, specifically, for many years, have systemically censored right and far-right ideas, instead of intellectually arguing them through. What happens then is that in the factory of ideas the only raw materials are from a select pool of middle, left and extreme left ideas. That gives them blind spots, and I think that led to what we saw in the Congressional hearings. More ideas, not less. More argument, with respect. Truth is a process. Thanks.
