By the end of the season they be mentioning how Steph never plays on bad teams when these 2 guys really figure it out. Before you know it you here Steph has a number overall pick on his team.
@@quilly.g Absolutely not that is 100% wrong. Other than logo shots their games are significantly different. Not only is steph a better shooter, but his off ball gravity creates lanes for other players. KD is not going to the warriors is dame is there instead of steph
@Jean-Patrice Paluku watch a full game from both teams.. they can both shoot lights out. I dont think that the debate, it's everything else. Dame is very dominant on ball, Steph is great on or off all. Steph is wayyy better beating doubles or traps. Dame would just try to dribble through it. And I think the biggest difference I've seen so far this year is defense. Steph has actually been a plus defender so far this season. you can't just switch or iso on him anymore and think it's 2 points.
@@ojl5055 I would say the spacing Steph creates differentiates them by and large.though dame gets more clutch points,Steph gets more gravity to create shots for others during clutch.i would like to see number of shots taken by both of them in clutch and number of makes to get a clear idea.
@@toluwalopesemowo2405 how can you say Stephen curry is in a different level when they're both averaging 30 and dame is averaging more assits. You can pick however you want but I think dame deserves respect to be at least considered in the same tier this season. The only thing that Stephen curry is better than dame at player wise is efficiency and shooting that's it everything else is even
@@randomperson2540 Dame is my favorite player, but He's not on the level of a unanimous MVP. If Dame was on the Warriors instead of Steph, they just don't reach that level of success. Plus, the series that Durant was injured, GSW still whooped Portland
Dame has never gotten past Steph in the playoffs. Even when KD was out in 18-19 it was a sweep. I haven't even watched the video yet I just immediately came to the comments to say enough said.
Like it’s not even close 😹🤦🏽♂️ what do these causals not understand 🤦🏽♂️ Curry’s 10-0 vs dame in the playoffs Curry beat dame while being injured he swept dame TWICE dropped 62 on him dame got swept 3 years in a row he got outplayed by jrue holiday and mike Conley and he had cj carry him to his first ever wcf 2x mvp only unanimous can lead a team to the finals he got swept by Curry with no kd or boogie blew 3 17 point leads 3 games straight Curry avg 37ppg dame avg 22 he got swept twice by Curry without kd lost to a injured curry had 62 dropped on his head what do these causals don’t understand how is this even a debate this is like comparing demar derozan to lebron james 😹 I love dame he’s my second fav pg I have all respect for him but cmon Bru
I love dame but this convo needa stop, it comes up every year and the outcome is always the same every year. It’s steph right now, was steph back then and will be steph in the future. It’s always steph
Steph at his peak is miles better than Damian Lillard. But rn steph is slightly past his peak, and that slight loss of production is enough to put the two of them in a similar category.
@@Paulie_Geelie that is very true. Steph is still better than dame but the gap between the two isn’t as wide now as it was. And even back than, yes steph was always better but it wasn’t like dame couldn’t even fw him, it’s just steph was very very good
Steph is two years older and as such entered his prime earlier than Dame. Steph also had a sick squad during his peak years. So yeah I agree Steph is better overall but the gap is small.
Steph is basically Lillard but significantly more efficient and way, way better off ball, and the gap between them only got wider in the playoffs during their careers.
I’m a Blazer fan but come on, Curry has been better. I wouldn’t say it’s thaaat far apart, but for now, Curry has to be better. Man can drop 40 all day, and is efficient as hell.
This was never a conversation, he's 10-0 in the playoffs against him. Dame has somehow gotten sonned even more than Harden by Curry, which I didn't think was possible.
@@carolinewall3678 Imagine thinking that.. after Curry beat both of them the next year while KD went down. No excuses, just take the L.. or all 4 of them and run along.

The thing with steph is that he does all the running around exactly to mitigate those sort of doubles or traps. Lillard doesn't have as much off ball value aside from giving some spacing when the ball isn't in his hands.
@@23thecurse so ur saying because of his teammates 😂😂that’s like saying Jordan won mvp because of scottie 😂😂Curry is like that bro don’t take it away because of his teammates
At the very minimum steph has 1.5 defenders on him at all times. There is always someone else watching Steph. In pick and rolls typicall the defending big will go to steph to try and occupy him for long enough for stephs defender to trail around the screen
If Steph played like Lillard with less offball movement and more PnR. He'd get doubled or trapped far more often than Dame ever gets. The thing is, he's also good at going to his spots. Guarding offball monster like him will make the defense pay for doubles, hence the box and 1
@@SiamHomeSource huh?? Every time curry played Lillard head to head in the playoffs when it matters most curry always outplayed Lillard and destroyed him every match up. Regular season means nothing
@@SiamHomeSource Look at the 2019 Western Conference Finals. Dame played trash, Steph averaged 36.5 ppg and led his team to a sweep. All of this without KD.

@@jackb750 bro if you took out the points scored by Lillard and steph that series the blazer cast scored more point 3 out of 4 times than the warriors cast and if rain plays better they don’t get swept they might even have a chance cuz curry was averaging like 36 the whole series so it didn’t matter how much they scored and klay ,draymond, curry is not the only reason they went 73-9 it’s because they had a lot of good veterans coming off the bench and they had to trade that to get kd .and the blazers still got swept

Not sure how you can compare the two without mentioning defense. And although steph isn't a great defender, he's still leaps and bounds better than Lillard.
@@jaythefifth yeah I notice that Steph is playing the best defense of his career this season, not all defensive team for sure, but he is a more reliable defender than what he used to be
Steph is better at reading the passing lanes but dame is far better than Kyrie at guarding defenders and he has the heart to actually guard the defenders the man guarded a 6’9 jayson Tatum for an entire half and held him to like 10 or 12
Thats actually incorrect if u go look at lillards rookie game vs the warriors u will see hes been shooting from deep since he came in the league in 2012 before steph changed the game
everyone in this comment section sounds mad dumb. there were players shooting from deep before currys and lilards time. shit kobe was known for firing off from deep. curry made the 3 ball prominent due to his efficiency. it’s not because he can shoot from deep, but how consistently he can do it. the degree of difficulty and efficiency is all there is to it.
replace Curry with Dame the times GSW won titles, do you think GSW would've won the titles with Dame or Steph? I think so. Maybe even that one in 2016.
They’re both great, but Stephs impact is actually incomparable. Most of what Dame does, Steph changed the game so he would...Skill wise, where is Dame (respectfully) better than Steph? Both great guards, though.
Dame is better downhill, not by much tho only because he is faster and more athletic than steph but steph makes up for it with skill and change of pace.
@@reyallenfranco nah it would make sense if lillard were better cuz that's how it looks given the fact that he dunks on people. Steph just gets so much attention on his 3s it just lets him blow by people.
One thing I’ve notice about Steph’s step back is how he remains at a low level all the way from the point of planting the front foot and then landing back on both to get into the shot. This is unique as most players go high-low when they execute a step back

The fact that people are still debating this is just disrespectful at this point. Let's see Dame achieve anything meaningful first before we even start this comparison.
3 60 points games, the only person who has more in a season is Wilt, also while the season was cut short. We are also talking about this season not all time. If you want to talk about all time, then give dame the same chance curry had. I know curry is better but there is so much disrespect to dame but he didn’t even do nothing wrong.
You also have to consider with the clutch numbers that steve Kerr has only been playing him the last 5 mins of the 4th making it hard to overcome the deficit with him off the floor. The close game record is a testament to him if anything.
When r people gonna realize dame will never be in the same breath as curry, even this season, dame has cj, Kanter, Powell, Melo, Nurkic, that's a solid playoff lock, the warriors this year are actually exceeding expectations

I wish we could. Steph is a top 3 player in the world but that takes away from dame. Every time someone talks about dame curry must follow. They don’t even really compare. They are different and great in their own ways.
