Thats awsome im in discipleship right now and as someone who grew up listening to heavy metal i have been wanting to stick with christian bands. So knowing there are followers of jesus in the metal scene is awsome. Gotta ask how does your son deal with non believers when touring with those bands around the world.
randomguy5501 As a Christian,I'm glad there is Christian metal, because I love strong guitar sound and other music genres don't cut it for me, but I don't get into secular music in my walk with Christ. I'm glad that there's Demon Hunter!🙏💖😊
Bands like this got me listening to christian lyrics when I first started out. At that time I couldn't listen to the softer music at church and feel inspiration to fight my inner demons and come closer to Christ. This was my "battle music" then and still continues to be now. I can listen to other genres of christian music now. I'm amazed at how many there were. A new christian can start out with harder stuff like this so they can hear Christ-centered lyrics. I hope they do well. Amen.
I started out with secular nu-metal months before I became a Christian. After I became a Christian I abandoned my secular music for music glorifying Christ. Demon Hunter was one of those bands I listened to that has faith-filled lyrics. Then I started listening to metal in general, then metalcore, then heavier metal, then on the brim was melodic death metal--which is amazing. Furthermore, I still listen to Demon Hunter along with Impending Doom, For Today, Corpus Christi, War of Ages, and many more. I have found it so important for me to listen to God's music and now I listen to a lot of metal, more than before, including the death metal I have found. It has made me more open as a person. All of them are awesome!
@@bipn_406suppose so. For me some church hymns are okay but I prefer it when men sing. It's like mixing paints. But with men and women's voices together or segregated sometimes on music is a good perfection. I think i need to listen to more metal music than soft music.
@@bipn_406 and Christian music too because the metal atheist music that I listen to such as "I love the way you lie." Or I love the way you hate me. Is inherently evil. Liying isn't good. And hating people isn't Good. So yeah I need to change that before things get worse again.
Thanks man of God 9000. Amen to you Jesus Christ brother spirit. I can't blame atheists for listening to death metal. Although death metal is mediocre I guess when you're depressed and don't know The Love of God. How are you supposed to love anyone including yourself? Well me neither! That's be impossible for me! So I should listening to more skillet and demon hunter thanks!
I'm not religious. In fact, I'm an Atheist...but Demon Hunter has my respect, each and every member and the band as a whole. They are highly talented and deserve much more attention. Their faith does not bother me one bit. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs. Demon Hunter is one of my favorite bands. If I believed in God, he would be a member of DH, jamming right along with them.
I'm a Christian and a die hard metal head. Some of my best friends are atheists, wiccans, laveyan satanists etc. I love demon hunter because the band gives a good example to non religious people that these guys aren't bible thumping lunatics who shove their beliefs down your throat. My faith guides me through my life no matter if I'm listening to behemoth, deicide, slayer etc....we as a metal community should stand up for each other instead of pushing one another down for what we believe in. Rock on \m/
NickMaroudas1 i can't agree with that. "evil" bands like Slayer don't actually believe what they're saying, and i still don't listen to them personally, but eh. but the "evil" bands that do believe what they're saying and are genuinely into dark stuff can be serious trouble. the influence in that kind of stuff seriously screwed up my life. of course *God*'s power is greater than theirs, very very much so, but i still wouldn't go back and take that kind of chance again, even if it's in a genre i like.
Demon Hunter would no agree with you. Actually listen to their music and rethink your opinion. Listen to the song This Is The Line. It is no longer to each his own. As a Christian you are committed to the war on all Christians and atheists are apart of the enemy. Do not be blinded.
I think you might be influenced by the musics you listen. So be careful. When I was teenager I used to listen all kind of metal. However, this turned out to bring negative thoughts and wrong beliefs in my mind.
Nick the Greek1 it isn't a good idea to associate with people with those kinds of beliefs. God says in his word that as Christians we are not to have anything to do with those that are against Christ. Read 2 Corinthians 6:14, 1 Corinthians 15:33. I am warning you as a brother in Christ not to hang around those people. They will corrupt your mind and soul.
@@stephenjacobs9419 Clearly this is not what Jesus would do. He spent his time among the Jewish leaders fellow shipping and enjoying the good life. Oh wait, uh, wrong there... he spent his time around thieves, liars, politicians, rich spoiled men, whores and whorehouses and all around bad shitty people. You cant be Christlike without being like him, that is hypocrisy. Go congregate with the Pharisees, you will fit in well... "He turned them away because He did not know them." Faith without works is dead.
Proud Atheist here to break the mold. I love Demon Hunter. I found them through the related bands thing on Spotify, and I love their sound, easily amongst the top of my favorite bands. It was only until tonight, just now, that I found out that they are Christians and are considered a Christian band. But guess what other Atheists? Their faith doesn't change how talented of musicians they are. Not to sound conceited or anything, but other Atheists need to be more like me and my group of friends, and be open minded. Atheists (as a whole group) preach that Christians are huge hypocrites because they hate on anyone different from them when Jesus Christ was crucified for being different, and for preaching love for all, regardless of any difference, and yet, Atheists hate on anybody with a religion while saying they are Atheists because they have an open and logical mind, and that's the most hypocritical thing of all. Demon Hunter is an amazing band, regardless of any religious beliefs. I feel religion should be kept out of music entirely because it just causes problems, but it's no big deal on my end, it's just other 'fans' who want to be assholes.
***** Proud Christian here to tell you to fuck off . Why ? You're just asking to start a shitstorm between 2 types of people . So if you're going to type "I AM ATHEIST DURR DURR CUZ MY PARENTS ARE BOTH SHEMALE " then remember : You have a big chance to start a shitstorm . And also , no one gives a fuck about you , or me , so keep your beliefs to yourself .
_H8_4_Lyfe_ I actually feel sorry for you, because there's a part of me who thinks you are trolling (and you most likely are), and a bigger part of me thinks you're serious, which really is saddening. Please look into a therapist, it can't be safe, for your own mental sake, having a mindset like that. Cheers!
I am a Christian and I let all know it and my wife is a Christian and we have friends come over that are nonbelievers and I play you guys and they are blown away by your guys sound and the message you guys are spreading with your music. Some have told me that by them listening to you guys either at my house or on their own they have felt like they are starting to feel the almighty Lord Jesus Christ starting to come back in their life’s and are turning their life’s towards him. Just want to say Praise you guys and keep doing what you do. Always a fan till the end.
Wow. You don't look like a friendly guy yourself. But then again if you look at me though I'm 21 I think you'd probably say the same Christian brother hahaha! Then. I agreed joyfully and I firmly stand with you! Brother in Christ I love you for proving this good. Guess id make metal head music myself instead of the edgy type of sad music that drives young men into nihilism.
As a Christian who is very real to myself and to others about my struggles and the undeserved grace that I have received I can totally relate to Demon Hunter and I do not understand how people can think that their lyrics are not Christian. First off it is art and part of art is poetry. Second, God gave you a mind, use it. If you want Chris Tomlin lyrics listen to him, Personally I don't because it seems like "praise" songs try too hard. This was the same debate that people had about Sometime Sunday back in the day. If you read into the poetry of the lyrics their beliefs are obvious. I think some people just want to call every band non Christian. Plus if you watch the video and here them talk about their faith and then say that they are not Christians but you are not judging, well I'm sorry but you are only kidding yourself. That is judgement.
We tend to confuse the words "judgement" and "correcting" in a sense. We are supposed to judge people, by their actions and words, but not their hearts. That will be God's job in the end when we all stand before our Creator, but by the mercy and grace through Christ Jesus, we are relieved of any and all condemnation by our Creator but still have to face it while we live our lives out on this earth.
Yeah I got really angry when my mother thought she had a right judging my heart. Beyond my actions and words. It pisses me off when someone thinks they have every right to condemn me. @@dyerseve07
Im glad these guys aren't ashamed of their faith. They are a lot like Stryper and God uses these guys to spread His message to people who would never step foot in a church. I pray that more bands like DH can step up to the plate and spread the good news of Jesus Christ to the world. God bless them!!!
I am so freaking proud of you all. Different kinds of music relate differently to different people. I love you all for playing awesome ,wild rock without bad lyrics and praising God is the best
Love the trolls hating on the Christian faith and trying to make all of us sound like idiots for believing in Christ. I understand that God has been taken out of schools, courts and other places where the masses gather to prevent others from being "offended" or whatever the excuse is now that other religions use. You don't have to believe in anything if you choose not to. But no matter what you believe in, you look foolish bashing others on their beliefs. Almost seems like you feel threatened by others and their acceptance of God. Oh and this is someone who has tats and loves metal music in general. Proof that you don't have to be an atheist or whatever to enjoy the music. I don't hide my faith. I have atheist friends also. Weird how human decency can go such a long way. Try focussing on that instead of others beliefs.
Once I found out demon hunter was a Christian band I totally bought the cd and played it almost every day I lost it :( I'll buy another one probably next week. God bless demon hunter and bless their fans. Thank you demon hunter for being out there and letting people know. You guys are my favorite band next to skillet :)
You go guys!!!! I am 50 years old. I like a traditional worship service, and the hymns that we sing in it. But I also grew up listening to all kinds of rock in the secular market. I am completely convinced that God can be glorified in pretty much any way. Your band will likely speak to people who may not listen to a traditional hymn. You have my blessing, and my continued prayers.
Awesome! I love this! They jump on stage and rock and believe! Sounds like a great way to live life to me. Thanks you guys for doing what you do! You will be blessed more and more for not denying your service
To law dawg (i don't know how to tag people so i hope somehow you see this!) I fully understand and acknowledge your viewpoint and agree with you in some ways. As for the song God Forsaken, the real meaning of the song is that without Christ, we truly ARE forsaken, but also showing that through him we can overcome condemnation and come to know him as our Savior. Also agreeing with your idea is that it is true that some bands have claimed christianity (DH being one of them) and their viewpoints aren't blatantly expressed like some other bands. I think this can be confusing at times, but i feel that often they are making their ideals evident to where everyone can appreciate them (christian or secular). I also think that some of their dark symbolism or whatnot may seem sacreligious but they are really just showing angles on parts of christianity that aren't all super happy, because the truth is that we are waging a war against good and evil. Its all about how you percieve it. Hopefully this makes sense and helps you in some way. God Bless! P.S. im only 14 so sorry if i made any mistakes in anything! :)
I love your music guys! Thanks for rocking, sounding great, and being open about your faith. I believe in and follow Jesus too, and love the fact that there is legit Christian metal like yours that I can listen to!
@The0Brazen0Serpent When I'm going to church (It's half an hour away) tracks like 'Not Ready To Die' and 'Undying' have just left me buzzing and thriving to know and praise God, I've noticed the difference. They've also helped me to believe in myself more. But what might help me might not help others who are into acoustic based music or something
God bless you all guys!!! I definitely think is awesome you can achive the Great Commission with this, keep up the God work, we all are fishers of men!!
Buddy at work 2nite turned me on to Demon Hunter..Came home Utubed it..Awesome sound..As a Christian and believer absolutely love it..Uplifting lyrics..And still rhythmic guitars drums and bass..Heavyman...Diggin it..A bit of 5 finger death punch sound..Whom I Love..Keep it up guys
The Heart of a Graveyard - is exactly the words I was always looking for when trying to talk to a non believer. The words also remind me, myself to look beyond this world.
From what I have seen and I have been to a couple hundred christian concerts throughout the years and have seen a definite change in what I used to hear at concerts and what I do now regarding what they are saying from the stage.
The Good Lord has blessed you with talent. I like the heaviness of the lyrics and the speed of the drumming, of the guitar. You are heavier than some secular metal bands. a good old catholic boys love this band. Next concert I come across in Vancouver I am going too. God Bless!!!
This is exactly what I am trying to do, Me and my husband started a facebook profile dedicated strictly to Christ. We want to reach our youth as best we can. Since music is so influential to people especially the youth, we need to outreach to them how awesome God is on all levels. The facebook profile is Yahvey First and I encourage your band to go on our friends list. We use this profile as a daily devotional, so not only are there scriptures posted, but also videos from rap to casting crowns.
I guess it could matter with re-guards to wanting something you like specifically this band to also be of the same belief. Maybe it would possibly stifle the impact of whatever message being relayed, but it does not have to. The better question would be then, regardless if the band took a stand or not, where would you stand now, even still?
@jmorr2293 the first guy was saying how they were on the fence about being in Christian bands before they were in Demon Hunter. the second guy was saying how once they were in Demon Hunter they were always straight forward about it
+Sai G They sure do have a reason to be bold, to support what they believe in because regardless of what America says about who is Christian or not, the majority of highly successful music is anything but Christian. Many bands with Christian members will not take a stand and state that they are a Christian band, just a band made up of Christians who make music like any other secular band. That is why I said they are bold.
+SugaryCoyote The answer is what I said above: "Many bands with Christian members will not take a stand and state that they are a Christian band, just a band made up of Christians who make music like any other secular band. That is why I said they are bold." Most radio stations that are dedicated to Christian bands play little to no Hard Rock / Metal (such as the nationwide Air1 station). Besides, my point was about the individual, not some other station broadcasting their music. This interview, where they openly support being a Christian band as a whole, not a 'secular band made up of Christians'.
@The0Brazen0Serpent It's true that if the lyrics aren't christian they they obviously cant be a christian band but I think they are. Their lyrics have helped me spiritually and you cant argue with that
Grew up in a Christian family/society but I'm not a believer myself. However, I respect that people have different beliefs because I treat others as I myself want to be treated. Doesn't matter to me what belief a band has. What matters to me if how their music makes me feel. Sometimes a good beat is all it takes for me to enjoy it.
Wow hard to believe this was 12 years ago. I would like to know how they are doing now. I remember the first song I heard by Demon Hunter was when I was 15 years old in 2004 when I heard not ready to die.
I JUST FOUND YOU GUYS!! YOU GUYS SOUND AMAZING!! I'VE TURNED MY BACK ON ALOT OF METAL BANDS THAT ARE PUTTING OUT NEGATIVE LYRICS AND BEING CRUDE, LEWD AND BLASPHEMING GOD'S NAME! THANK GOODNESS FOR THE CHRISTIAN METAL SCENE!!! IT HAS RENEWED MY INTEREST IN PICKING UP MY AXE AND MAKING SOME GODLY MUSIC!!!
I started seeing comments in other videos saying how the band is not christian, I have to say I wasn't so sure from the beginning if they were christian. After watching this video it gives me another reason to love these guys even more as people and as a band. Music is great, but when you sing (or rock out!!!) about something you love like your beliefs or religion and things that you just love to share, it takes the experience to a whole new level. It's even better when you agree with what they are singing about and relate to. IS ANYONE WITH ME ON THIS?!
I'm glad that they finally took the time to cleared this question up. As believers, we shouldn't be ashamed of being identified as a christian, because the hope that we have, is far more valuble then anything in this life. cont
I think thats so cool that you are a Christian Band also especially as your a Heavy Metal Band and in todays society where there maybe not so many christians in the population of the world but thats growing. Because I am christian.
guys..... your cool factor is that your an awesome band.... and the fact that you put christ in your meanings means more to alot of us than those fan that listen to the music for how it sounds.... yeah you guys sound awesome.... but you also sent me on the path to become a reverend and save souls,,, so just look at it like this... you saved one soul that has saved others..... blam be if you want, but im a metal head christian who has saved souls cuzz of this band who saved mine....
@MarkOpee1 If you haven't already realized, The Demon Hunter Logo has a Bullet Driving through the Demon. Which means its Killing Demons. Hunting Down Demons signifies (Spiritual Warfare/ Personal Demons/Sins, et cetera.
I could really say that this band has been powerfully used by Him... even i felt change in my life coz of their music... i hope others who don't find their style of music a preferrence would just be considerate to people like us...
I have to say i would never give this kind of metal a chance before.Never was into the yelling/screaming thing and i would always just hit the off key in my head. Now that i have listened to entire songs i cant get enough!Just bought the new tunes True defiance love it! As far as my faith.....My redeemer lives!
Larry Norman is the father of Christian Rock, +40 years of legendary and inspiring Christian rock music, released some of the landmark albums of the genre. But thanks to the commercilization of "Christian Rock" most kids today don't even know who he was. God knows him though... and those who's lives he touched will never forget him.
I love these dude's. My mom is a devote christian, when she finally realized I was listening to the metal genre, she hated metal and the "Devil" voices they put into it. She lectured me on a daily basis of it. Yeah,I believed in my faith, but sometimes, times get hard, so I listen to metal. I was about to loosen the knot and just quit my favourite genre. :[ Then, I found this band! :D
Being newly saved, leaving secular metal music was hard. Being a guitarist myself and and wanting to "be cool" was also hard expressing my faith and the my love for Jesus. I'm a new fan of these guys, I just discovered them today. This band is as metal as you can get but with great lyrics not focusing on sex, drugs and other sinful activities and desires. I am a fan for life.
@RangedUnit7 Well not all songs can just mean whatever you want them too. Some Christian bands have songs with lyrics all about God and the lyrics are set up in such a way they can't be interpreted in any other way. For example the Christian band Disciple's song "I Just Know" has lyrics of "I Just know Jesus is my God" and the Christian Post-Hardcore band Wolves At The Gate's song called "Oh The Depths" lyrics are "Every knee will bow and every tongue confess, that you God, For you are God"
