Hee-Moonz Sirina lmao i see xD i can't believe me coming out as a closet otaku to my parents and watching anime with them for the first time had to be with devilman crybaby. that was such a bad idea omg
Bruh my son was two years old and on vacation with his mom in Arizona while I was at home (goddamn work) watching this shit. I legit cried and didn't go to (goddamn) work the next day.
I was honestly left with the weirdest feeling after watch Devilman Crybaby... i was so satisfied by the brilliance in the writing and directing but i was emotional about the ending especially the end of episode 9... it just really got me all the way down to the core. But yeah. Just serious conflict between appreciation for be so well done and feels... ugh
For me this described it perfectly, for me DEFINITELY not anime of the year or even close.... I think that I liked it but kinda just felt... ugh... as you said... i dunno... was a different take
I have never felt _pure hatred_ for a character till I watched the part where Miki and the gang were killed and the killers danced with their body parts on sticks, I felt _so much hatred_towards them that I wanted them tortured
L.OVELY L.EXI wait the short guy who always has his hands in his pockets and someone else right? Wait but who? Cos Wamu was killed, the guy with the red shirt (I forgot his name) was stabbed and another one died as well
It's funny how some fans think unless the animation has crisp edges and all tidy. I think the animation fits this series perfectly. It's colours in might club scene is eye candy
Joeys just trying to ride that hype train for the clicks. Knowing him, he wouldn't have made this video unless everyone else was talking about it. Even if he genuinely liked it, a title like that is something I've seen EVERYWHERE
Ahhhh! You got Joey! He actually aired this video in December 2018, but it got teleported to the past. Nice catch, you called him out for faking his video's upload date.
"I told my wife that I was a Devilman and she slapped me." -rando dude on the internet from Devilman crybaby. Oh was I the only one who actually read those comments in the show... Ok then, bye
The soundtrack deleted me. I didnt like it because it added to the distortedness and twistedness of the show.BUT that's the point of so I can't say anything ahhh
I am having troubles liking the anime... I watched all 10 episodes and I was never bored. With bad animes the time seems like to never pass but good animes make the time fly. While watching devilman crybaby time definitely flew past me. However i seriously cannot tell if I enjoyed it. I am left with a hollow feeling like as if all emotions have left me. No anger, no sadness, no joy or anything really...
i felt like that too. but what makes me like it is that it made me feel empty. not many animes can make you feel like that. mostly when characters die, we cry. but in devilman, i literally felt nothing after the ending. my opinion tho ^^
@@lovelysonico I just finished this anime in 1 day today... People been hyping this anime in TikTok so I thought it's good enough...it's good and epic... But I didn't get why people kept saying they crying last 3 episodes because I felt nothing but "wow & wtf" expressions... This anime makes me questioning humanity and how easy it is to manipulates humanity amongst human...overall it is one excellent anime 9/10 for me
@@LuigiaTV lol because the book of revalation is completely ignored in the show it not like the main characters were written to be Christian or anything right?
I can't believe I actually paused the video to watch this anime before he started the (kinda) spoilers.....I seriously can't believe this. Really good anime. Now what am I going to do with my life?
This is the 3rd video I've seen on devilman crybaby. Might just have to check it out. Update - I have now seen this anime, and it was the cleanest anime I've ever seen. Not gory whatsoever
Karue best anime of the year (unless something better comes up later in the year)... I'm not saying it may or may not happen, but I won't complain if it does... while I love Devilman Crybaby, I wanna watch more and more of great animes, and if something better than DC comes along later in the year, I'll be incredibly thankful for the existence of the genius who makes that possible
Everyone lost everything and then died achieving nothing. Then god solves the problem all by himself. I haven't felt this bad about the ending since OreImo.
dreman999 In a sense yes but also no. Amon is the name of the demon who tried to take over Akiras body but Akira kept his human heart. Thats why when those demons came looking for Amon they tried to beat it out of Akira, Amon was the god of war in hell but its like he doesnt exist anymore because has fused with Akira.
The author was really heartless. I can't believe he has no fear, I was crying since ep 8 or 9 but, even though the ending might not be good for some, I still like it.
I honestly think the ending was absolutely amazing. The director didn't try to suddenly sugarcoat it and make everyone survive and instead talked about how far humanity was willing to go. The fact that sometimes things don't work out for the kind and amazing, i think that was highly evident when Akira died and when Mikki dies. Im pretty sure everyone thought she would make it like what happens in most animes but when that knife suddenly enters her back and we are left with the horrifying scene of her head on a spike, we realize this movie doesn't have "protagonist protection" and its fucking amazing.
Honestly I thing some people are to used to people adapting a manga into an anime and changing most of it , then they complain about it , but now someone has done it right and now they hate it and want a satisfying ending that wouldn't make sence just because people want it that was , news flash not all anime like this will get the ending everybody's expecting that's why this is a wonderful anime along with other reasons him and all point out , this is why people don't like Devilman crybaby there to used to the same shit every single time , what's a dark anime without a dark and sad ending? If you fell triggered fell free to comment so you can get if off your chest I don't care. There's a LOT of things you can learn from this anime and if you didn't catch on to it then you might be to simple minded to accept new things
@@lourencebarrientos8496 actually devil's didn't really win the point of the anime was what is love and getting Satan to love but the only way to do that was to kill akira but at the end good just resets time and I have pages and pages of stuff written down
This series is named Devilman Crybaby because thats what you're gonna be at the end of the show. A crybaby. PS: I just finished it and came here to see Joey's review on it.
@Martin Schmidt anime is becoming a genre now it doesn't matter if it was made in japan or not because the term "anime" is literally just the word animation but in japanese the art style doesn't matter if you don't like how it pleases your pupils then leave people worked hard on it and if you think it's "bad" because of it's art style then you got a whole storm coming honey
Can we all agree that the ending made you cry? Like I sat for an hour thinking about how the world is like this and made me want to change my ways. @TheAnimeMan
TheOtakuLord Uzumaki ikr. I finished the series yesterday and it was suoer sad. I started felling really sad when akrika died and thats when ryo finally realizes he love akrika and je starts to cry and i start to cry and yeah. I wish it could have ended better though
The ending didn't make me feel anything, I just saw it and went on with my day. I didn't like the show in general, but that ending really stands out as being shit. The only things I liked about the show was the artstyle, the music, and some cool scenes like the sabbath party one.
Nah the show is pretty, but soulless in every other regard so far. And personally, I think After the Rain looks about on par, maybe a bit better due to better directing.
*Soundtrack of "Avatar: The Last Airbender"* is one of the reason why it is a *Masterpiece.* You right Joey, music is such an underrated aspect in judgement of a good show.
Henttus OH MY GOD WHEN THEY WERE TALKING AND HE WAS ALL LIKE “WHY AREN’T YOU ANSWERING ME” AND THEN IT LOOKED DOWN TO AKIRA’S BROKEN BODY I WAS LITERALLY SOBBING
If you like retro anime where the main focus was mature stories and crazy action violence you will love this show. However if you mainly watch anime because of the cute and quirky stuff you will hate this show (unless you are a stupid fangirl of these youtubers or randomly enjoy ship male characters together)
Kaiyang Zheng right there with ya, already shipped Akira & Ryo The violence is awesome in this show and it's themes are interesting. It's not too edgy either, it's a good show
soffirechange || I know this is late but I’m so confused!! How is it good?! I’ve seen it and just can’t understand. The only thing I enjoyed were the gangsters
Devilman crybaby was awesome and I am a little biased towards it because I could relate to it but I would still say that 2018 will have something that will definitely surpass this gem of an anime. Still it would have been better with the pacing with a little more time but then 10 episodes is so lucrative
Nah, none of the action shonen/shojo MOE/pervy comedies have anything worthwhile over DMCB. OPM S2 could possibly pull it off but it'd have to actually air...
Me watching Angel Beats, Devilman Crybaby, No. 6, Banana Fish, AOT, and NGNL0 (and parasite but I didn't find it sad) in the span of a couple months, less than 8 months after starting anime ; My friend ; "bAbY i JuSt DoN't GeT iT, dO yOu EnJoY bEiNg HuRt?" My answer is yes. Sad anime make me feel things.
