I've been using the 2018 D400 since July 2018. Currently doing almost 1.6lakh kms on it. Bloody reliable motorcycle. The only things I've changed are the expendables like chain sprockets, brake pads, air filters etc. Never gave me any problems. Am not even thinking of changing it anytime soon. ❤❤❤
I had a 2018 Dominar. It was an amazing motorcycle. The old SOHC Dominars were great. In November 2022, I decided to get a brand new UG Dominar but one of my friend's 2019 UG Dominar had an issue where the engine blasted, the crankshaft came out and this cost him 93 thousand as his bike was not under warranty. This issue was common with numerous Dominars. The crankshaft of his 2019 UG Dominar broke and the engine broke into pieces. Sadly, his bike was not under warranty. I almost booked a 2022 Dominar and I cancelled it and bought a Honda CB 350RS and boy. The Honda CB 350RS is such a reliable motorcycle. I'm happy to own this Japanese beauty. Thank god I avoided Dominar. The issue of shims, camshaft guides, Throttle position sensors and radiator issue and coolant mixing with engine oil is very common with Dominars.
Being a D400 owner(3yrs 50k km) i can say that it is the most underrated bike ever. It has good power and comfort on highways. It has the cheapest maintenance cost and parts replacement cost. It doesn't heat like ktms. I have taken it off-road and all sorts of terrain, no issues. Literally all parts can be ordered online. It just require major upgrade on looks and purpose oriented.
This was my dream upgrade after owning 200NS for 3 years from 2017 to 2020, unfortunately couldn’t buy one as I had to buy a car due to family requirements. Someday I wish to see this beauty standing at my home.
Sir please try to make a video on CBR 250R. Never heard you speaking about it. Its a very nice motorcycle too, due parts scarcity maintaining it has become a task. Please put your thought on it, to have a cbr is a good or bad decision ?
As a Dominar 400 (Aug 2018) proud owner ,Probably ridden around 40K Kms( Mostly Interstate Commute & Always ridden around range of 120-135kmph) ,The biggest ride i did was from Nagpur to Calicut (1500kms one way in 18hrs & 30min non stop )& Back on similar timings , Spent on two sets of Tyre replacement & one Chain sprocket Set Nothing has given away as of now nor did i claimed any warranty . Its kind of very forgiving Motorcycle ,Very seldom you come across good about D400 , Yes this is kind of Tribute to D400,Yes probably I would love to have proper Adv version with many bells & whistles & also Classic Version of it .Hopefully it may be coming in next 1 or 2 years .Keeping it going VR.
Totally agree with you I owned Dominar for 3 years and did ladhak, Spiti and whole north east India, brilliant bike. I sold it in 2021 and now owns cb Highness 350, it feels like a downgrade now.

Do consider Duke 390 2017 as well. I have done Ladakh on one suspension as 1 front leaked in Manali and rear leaked before reaching Leh but Man...SHE never let me down once
Did a tour with my wife in Himachal for about 1200-1300km's on the Domi400 with my wife. I have to say, it is an all rounder bike with the correct changes.
Being a R15 V3 rider, I'm considering buying either Dominar 400 or KTM 250 ADV. But I heard that Dominar has build quality issues. I've also heard somewhere that the insides of the tank gets rusted on the left side due to moisture. Is that true??
I am a dominar 400 owner and I can clearly say there are better 400 cc segment bikes out there , pls do take test rides and make decisions, and also dominar due for an major upgrade

That is his experience , you might have a beautiful experience with dominar 400. I personally bought a speed 400 , took test ride and loved it . I have ridden dominar 400 also , I loved it also ❤. Go where your ❤ takes you 😊.
You should have included me in this podcast to allow me to share 29k km experience with my dominar 400, which majorly includes highways and mountains (spiti ladakh etc). 😅
I do agree that Bajaj dominar is a wonderful bike, I been using ot for almost 3 yrs, but the bitter part is the service because the show room in my city is the worst. General we service our bike to fix problem, here when I reach out to the showroom for service, they create new problems 😂.
