Is ESPN RIGHT about Gators Football? 

Honestly surprised it isn't worse. UCF has a great run scheme and the run defense is the biggest weakness on the Gators.

ESPN is saying Napier can't coach. ESPN might be correct.

I love my Gators, but I do not think there is another win on this schedule. Not because of talent, but because of coaching and scheme.

Let’s stop playing cheerleader for UF. They need a new coach that brings discipline. Tired of hearing what we may do but never deliver.

I think UF is most likely better than FSU. But, something to think about regarding that FSU game is that Napier might be out the door by then. I know a lot of fans like to think that would make the team better under an interim coach, but history shows that happens rarely. Norvell on the other hand is locked in. There is a very real possibility Mississippi State was the final win of the season.

We have a better team than UCF. It's up to how bad Napier really is.

Sports Illistrated referred to us as the “Bend and break defense,” after our last win. Our defense needs to come out and show the world they have pride and can fly around and control. Everything. Go Gators.

UCF could win vs Florida. That's how bad Napier is at preparation. If it's close, or if Florida manages to lose, then can they delay canning Napier any longer?

The UCF game will be a big predictor for the rest of the season. Everyone in the world knows UCF is going to run. So if you know that and you still can't stop it, that tells me everything I need to know. If that is the way the game goes, I have a hard time believing they will even get more than 3 wins. If they slow the run down and eek out a close win, I can see a path to 5-7. If they actually stop the run and win convincingly, I think they can get to 6-6 with a win over LSU.

I have zero hope in a Billy Napier coached team jus to undisciplined UCF already coming in with a chip on there shoulder every time they play a florida school our players seem to dont care about rivalry games we need a coach who understand florida tradition

I’m not concerned with the record moving forward or the player retention or future recruiting, I’m more interested in viable candidates for Head Coach next season. If Florida can find the right guy then everything else will take care of itself…

Any SEC team can beat any other SEC team on a given Saturday, especially when it comes to UF v TN. Seen it go both ways, we were in school at the same time Ali, but I also grew up in G’ville and my dad was a graduate, nothing is out of the realm of possibility, ever, imo.

Great content, Ali! Not sure I agree with you regarding the Gators beating UCF or UK. Both teams have better lines of scrimmage and will be able to run the football for big yards!

Defense is a huge issue. Can’t stop the run. Until it gets fixed where it is actually consistent, I can’t see winning any games. Simply can’t win games giving up what they do. Even in a shooting match , I’ll give the push to the other team. Gators just find a way to lose, and they are terribly undisciplined with stupid play and penalties. Haven’t even gotten to the Oline yet. Maybe they get a little better but let’s be realistic they are no where near. Maybe Napier actually puts in players that do what they should with maximum effort. Idk, maybe they get a little better on the side. No more than 4 maybe 5 wins with a FSU victory. 6 could only happen with a LSU victory. A chance but I’m not counting on it .

Looking forward to this game but also hope everyone is safe from this hurricane. It hit us really hard out here in Georgia and unfortunately some had horrible tragedies.

I wish I shared your optimism. Stop UCF running? Yeah. Even if they do, what will probably happen is UCF will open up their passing game that they've been keeping under wraps until they play a game and team of significance and the Gators will be totally unprepared because they practiced for stopping the run for two weeks. That's the longest run on sentence I've written in a while. And then Kentucky? Tennessee? Texas? Ect? I'm sorry, I cannot find another win on this schedule. Even FSU is a 50/50 in my book. And I give FSU the edge because it's at Doke.

Zero chance of stopping the run. We have to play extremely aggressive to stand a chance of winning.

I’ve been a CBN supporter until I saw the same issues we had last year show back up in game 1 this year. He is not a good enough OC for the power 5, he should have listened to the rumble and hired someone who is good enough. As HC, he hasn’t paid enough attention to the defense, 1 meeting in 3 years? Really? His arrogance is why we are in the shape we’re in, and why he’ll be unemployed by December.

If the players don’t get caught up in the negativity and rumor mill, but continue to improve week to week, I think 5-6 or 6-6 is reasonable. I think 4-6 is more likely because I’m not confident that coaches and players today have the discipline to tune out the noise.

Love Ali as a Gator fan; optimistic and supportive, but also keeping it 100 much unlike the delusional Miami RU-vidrs such as Coop - the ACC replay officials handed Miami a win because they seem to be the ACC bell cow this season quite clearly and they know AP poll voters look at scores and maybe stats, but don't watch the games - officiating has been abysmal this season and replay officiating even worse. I think you may be right, but the UCF run game and Gus has me concerned because I feel like he's a much better game coach than Billy at this point

I'm no expert. I love Ali and her insightful show...while I agree with most she has said on here, I think we lose to UK and LSU. UK played well against UGA and are in the lead against Ole Miss. They show fight when down and grit to win. They're hungry. So I give UK the win. LSU, I think, will win too, but it will be close. To be honest, I hate how these last several years and coach carousel has been going for my Gators. Hope the next coach has fire and can bring back the elite level college program to its rightful glory!

Florida already wins more games than Florida State. Miami is good this year, should be top 4 with Texas and Alabama. Losing to one of the top 4 isn't as bad. TAMU, too, is moving up. Proof is with UCF at home this next weekend.

a lot of hopium in some of these projections. the big games at home are super dicey bc the crowd already on edge. if we start strong we can be in a lot of games. but i am worried we will start slow and the crowd will turn on napier and co. which will lead to losses. just need to hurry up and cut ties with napier and give the fans something to look forward to.

I’m sorry but I do think the UCF game is a toss up. The 1 thing I keep thinking about is the Malzon gets his teams hyped up for big games and for UCF this is a big game. Then UK? Again, I’m sorry but I watched UK play UGA and am watching them play Ole Miss and they may not be the best team but they do play really hard. Can we say that we’re playing with a sense of urgency? UKs offense is not good but do they have to be if their defense is playing hard? My heart says we can win but I wouldn’t put money on it.

This past weeks win against Miss State was the most uncomfortable win ever since I became a Gator 20+ years ago. Our secondary played like high school, giving over 200+ rushing yards... If our secondary is to play like that.....ESPN prediction of 40% of beating UCF is too high.

We couldn’t stop a rush offense in Mississippi state that ranked in the 100s. UCF might run for 300+ yards. FSU I think is a for sure win. If we don’t beat UCF I don’t know if we win another game besides FSU. Kentucky’s line of scrimmage hangs with Georgia’s. LSU maybe in a shootout I’m not sure about there defense I have not watched them

Ali UCF has the number 2 ranked rushing offense in all D1 football…RJ Harvey is a beast…the Gators are terrible against the run…so UCF by at least a two scores win over the Gators. Also Gus Malzahn and his staff are waaaay better coaches than Sun Belt Billy and his crew…just an honest opinion. We need John Gruden to turn this program around asap…😊
