Nice video Dave. While do you get what pay for, but, as you say, inspiration is key to me. My most recent axe is the Fender Vintage Malibu in black. My show is mostly Johnny Cash music (no I don't do "tribute", I don't sound or look like Johnny - I do me doing Johnny Cash songs). But because of that, the vintage Malibu inspires me. Cash played one in 67-68, there are lots of videos and photos showing him with one. So it inspires me. Is it quality? It is. Solid top/back/sides and Fishman electronics inside with pickups under the saddle and under the top to pick up vibrations. But I play it because it has that Johnny Cash vibe that keeps me plugging along, even when the gigs don't produce the $ I want, or the crowd would rather watch the big screen behind my head instead of paying attention to me.
