For me i just buy the fakes of sets that have been retired and there isnt any reasonable way you could justify paying $250 for a set that was $50 just 5 years ago. Believe me ill always buy lego when its a set that is still in production however i dont treat lego as an investment like some people so i dobt mind having fake lego as part of my collection.
I agree fake lego are just better value , cause if you compare the fake ones it aint that far off and most of the times they are 1:1 , you have to do some digging though on the mini figures because some of them don't look that good you can definitely find better if you take the time and sometimes wayy more detailed mini figures then legos , like the anime ones
That’s what I do. Current sets I’ll try and get on sale but get the real thing. It’s the old sets that now go for hundreds of dollars that I look to fakes.
Personally, I think a lot of the anti-alternate brands folks are these lego investors. You know. They buy up a couple of hundred of soon-to-be discontinued sets and hope to make a fortune from them, selling to those who did not get one prior to being discontinued. Alternative brands can, for those of us who want to build rather than have shelves of unopened packages, be a superb option. Only recently I was looking for a discontinued set. There were hundreds available, but all in the $400-$700 range. Insane. I picked up an alternate brand set, every bit as good, for under $20.
Honestly i recommend buying a fake Lego set , and that is because buying a fake one lets you get that Lego building experience minus a little bit of quality control , but you get to keep your Collectors Lego set sealed and keep its value up , but not only that you get to display the fake one and it will remotely look the same honestly sometimes evens better depends on which fake lego company you buy from
I find fake Lego sets 100% worth it because if i was planning on buying a $120 official Lego set,I could save that $120 and buy a 4500-5000 piece FAKE Lego set for the same price,Yeah i actually did buy some sets in the past, some really big sets too,Lego is way too expensive in where I live so I just buy fake Lego sets.
Yeah, the big W here is that they are SO damn cheap that LEGO can't compete at all when it comes to quality. Especially if you're playing with Lego or just using it for dioramas and fun building, not for brand loyalty or reselling. If a LEGO castle costs 300$ and the fake costs 30, the Lego quality isn't 10 times as good. At best maybe 1.2 times, lol. And that's absolutely NOT worth the price. That's like a 20$ frying pan vs. a 200$ one when you just want to fry eggs once per week. Both fry the egg, the expensive one is a tiny lil bit less sticky, but it's not problematic. Honestly, I'd buy fake bricks exclusively to build fun stuff and maybe buy minifigures from Bricklink. Or well-made cheap customs. Best solution. Cheap minifigure fakes are still struggling a bit but the big builds are absolutely fine. No reason to pay a fortune for standard pieces.
@@bighatastrea not really but some fake one the space between the blocks and connecting too each other. I agree with the price but quality you get from lego. My oldest one stil got like lego figures from when i was a child he is 14 now. Im talking lego piece's from 1999
Lego is just too expensive. I was a hater, but the fake Lego sets they’re making these days are just too high in quality to pass up. I’ve bought a lot of Nifeliz on Amazon, and they are superbly designed. Brick quality is about 90% that of Lego. I think there designs are a little bit more intricate than Lego as well.
Appreciate the honest opinion about off brand sets in a community that'll happily want to squash such viewpoints. I myself buy real and fake sets, and some of the favourite models I have in my collection are knockoffs, but look amazing and they're the ones that stand out when I walk into the room. As far as paying for that feeling you talk about in the Lego store, that only lasts as long as you're in there, the real value of cheap sets is after they're built looking awesome on the shelf. If a set is discontinued or it's hasn't been made by Lego especially, I have no hesitation in buying off brand. Keep these videos coming mate, so refreshing to watch and share the love of this great hobby!🏴
Once you find a place you can trust and are ready to deal with the caveats of the off-brand bricks they look good and the price is right. Great vid yo.
I absolutely love this video, I don't have a spare £500 to spend on an AT-AT but I do have £30 or even £20 and I get the same buzz and child giddyness building something for £20 and you get the same result. It's a no brainer
After a lot of research I bought the Mould King isd monarch and it is absolutely fantastic. Got it for about $350 where a lego set of that size would be atleast three times the price. There has been a few errors, but I got enough pieces that I am able to fix that. For example where there should be a 1x4 tile there is a 1x3 tile in the bag. The quality of the parts are as good as lego except for a few pieces that had some imperfections
Tell you wants better than going into the Lego store..... getting the £500 Rivendall set from Aliexpress for £74 delivered. Now that was a good feeling.😊
@SWLH66 it's spot on mate. Fake lego has really came along way in last few years. Also got the new Red Dragon tale set and it's like identical bar the lego on the blocks. Was £54.
All I gotta say is f the elitist. The retired sets are extremely overpriced. I wish I could afford the original sets but I can't so I buy the fake ones for my personal collection and not for resale. 😊
@@emmamannn4318 yeah it seems as though a lot more people are realising that their are other options out there and that it’s okay to buy them, you won’t get told off by the Lego police haha
@@BRICKSAM1 haha that's it but you have to live and buy things within your budget and having the 3 young kids who want Lego sets we find it's the best option for us
Yes yes yes! You get 90 percent of the fun for 20 percent of the price. Hell yes. Recently got into technic fake lego and got the green lambo sian 3696 pieces.for 24 euros. That is just silly. Black friday is going to be madness for sure.
The overseas production does raise an eyebrow to possible human rights violations to say the least. I doubt producers have any ethics if they are stealing intellectual property in the form of Lego's set designs.
I have bought many Harry Potter sets from temu. The instructions are crazy, some base plates were slightly worped , apart from that I'm very happy. Shame temu have stopped suppling them now.
I also have a few fake kits, including a fake UCS Tie Fighter (75095) and it should be surprisingly good. I have that venator too, it arrived a few days ago and it's amazingly good quality. It doesn't fall apart, it was a good experience to build it. lego has become an incredibly expensive toy over the years.
For me me, it is Coruscant Gunship. 25dlls R2 and c3po scape pod 8dlls Tie fighter 16 dlls droid Transport 17 dlls Tie bomber 20dlls Show speeder 13 dlls I can get all of theese for Around 100 dlls
The eclipse set I’ve seen a few people get & post looks insane & I guess if you got the part list off Bricklink, you’re talking a couple grand…So, depends.
The only fake builds I own so far are a Drodica and a clone walker, both really good, I own lots of fake mini figures, Lots of super nice one, Someones they are rubbish but 90% of the time they are good, I buy from brickpandatoys for the figures, I really want that gunship
