Although i do find the wireframe on 5:38 to be a low fidelity wireframe, placed beside the initial figjam sketch I guess you could call it a mid-fidelity wireframe? 🤪

Questions for you too. Did you have to use an external keyboard to type when using the type tool within Figjam? I wasn’t able to pull out the keyboard, nor can I transfer scribble writing text .. thank you!

This was actually really nice because it felt like a look into what goes on (that is the preparation) before the stream. I love the streams and I missed this one but I got to watch the replay and as always, very entertaining and fun. I also that Figma should consider miro’s approach to the ui arrangements, cause the complaint you made with the toolbar being at the bottom is actually a problem that I see most designer will encounter.

Yeah! One day I need to remember to actually vlog DURING a stream to include a clip of that. I feel like my whole mission is to get more folks to join the coworking club now haha

FigJam on iPad really has a ways to go before it comes a part of my workflow. Not enough stylus-specific and gesture-specific features like in Concepts. I will say though it took a few evenings with Concepts to find the tool/artboard setup that worked for me. I hope Figma pushes more iPad, stylus and gesture specific features in the near future as Id love to be in one ecosystem for my low-fi and high-fi workflows.

Because what I draw for wireframes is soooo basic, I seriously think if they add the double finger tap to undo I will be set.

Thanks for the informative video Charli! Do you not design mobile-first? I understand that it's easier to make use of desktop space for initial ideation, but at the same time designing on mobiles forces you to simplify. Curious to hear your thoughts.

For me, I always like to start with the device that will be most used by the target audience. Starting with mobile does help you simplify, but I find it becomes difficult to fill out a desktop page afterward and not have it feel like the mobile page blown up. Starting with desktop perhaps gives me more creative freedom with a larger canvas, but also then the mobile site may feel crammed. So starting with the most-used size helps me optimize for that experience.

@@zach-shea yes, fair enough! I do think it feels more natural to start with desktop, especially in the beginning of designing. Guess we hear a lot about 'mobile-first!' these days, I thought it converted our approach to design altogether. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t design mobile first, but I always have mobile in mind. Like sometimes there’s things I want to add to my desktop wireframe but I think “hmm no that’s too desktop specific”. Mostly for the same reasons Zach shared in this thread! I find it pretty easy to stack things and simplify for mobile, but I think it can lead to a more complex desktop design process.

I think you can use it on any iPad that an Apple Pencil works on!
