Hi, i got my girlfriend pregnant while on dutasteride. Its 5 month mark pregnancy and i will have a boy! Besides that we made many tests and USG's. All is good everything fine.
@@prolificbat 1.5 months left, doctor is saying that he is super healthy and growing very good. He even said that he almost never seeing a heart rate to be that perfect. :) PS. Dont be worried!
Medical provider here. Not going to give advice but I think this guy is being EXTREMELY conservative here. Yes its teratogenic, lots of drugs are. But the question is, what this the risk in vivo of transferring Finasteride to a woman when attempting to conceive. I have not seen convincing evidence that this happens. Yes, a pregnant women should not be exposed to it in the first trimester at the least but acting like finasteride dust is some sort of aerosolized plague seems hyperbolic.
@Aglahad would you recommend switching from 0.5mg dutasteride to 1mg finasteride while trying to conceive ? And then go back to dutasteride later of course . ?
This is being used for a cosmetic indication and not for a life saving illness. It needs to be avoided even when the chances are remote. Moreover, doctors have to be extra cautious to not go against what's on the label approved by the FDA.
@@King099-s3s Finasteride apparently can interfere with normal male sex organ development. If you have a son, he will PROBABLY have a normally-sized penis. Probably. I am in the same conundrum, slowly losing my lovely hair - in accordance with my age, to be honest, but I hate it. Haven't had kids but want to. Absolutely want to keep my glorious barnet, but unwilling to produce a son with micro-penis, or roll the dice to that end. Life sucks, what can I tell you.
Hey, matt, love your content. I use topical finasteride 0,3% with topical minoxidil 5% and had AMAZING results, saved my hair. I use everyday and i do regular blood exams every month. Had zero sides, my libido is higher, im 25. Will it work forever ? I am afraid of the pill so i am afraid this treatment will not work in the future and i will have to go to pill or dut. Topical fin 0,3 % will work forever? Im 25 btw and very healthy. And do you know how much time my hair will keep gains if i stop this topicals fin and minox? Thanks!!
@@jackcarver8234 i dont understand. I should lower the dose to preserv dht? My levels werent too much altered since i started and i apply twice a day and take regular blood tests, im a medical student so i can use the university hospital.
how do you mix them bro? I'm currently using topical Minoxidil and am considering adding pyrilutamide. I prefer the liquid version of minoxidil. Can I apply finasteride right after? I'm thinking of using one in the morning and the other in the evening. However, I'm unsure about how long it takes for topical finasteride to be absorbed. If I apply it in the morning, I want to wash my hair, but I'm concerned about washing away the finasteride .
@@hairtransplantinindiaThanks for sharing these informations Doctor ! If l did understand, a man who wants to conceive has to stop finasteride 60 days before conception and stay off finasteride during the first three months of pregnancy? Then after these three months, can a man get back on finasteride ? If yes Does he have to use condoms during all the duration of the pregnancy ?
@mattdominance Hi Matt, I’m on pill finasteride since 10+ years. No side effects. I’m considering switching to topical for conception. Can you specifically say something about topical finasteride? Should I also not take also topical finasteride at all when trying to conceive, given that anywhere you search they say it has much less of ALL side effects? I have also a more nuanced question. Interrupting finasteride pill maximises both sperm quality and minimises risks to the fetus. Agreed on that. However, are we really sure finasteride stay in the system for 60 days? This doctor seems EXTREMELY conservative. I mean, come on, if my girlfriend doesn't touch the pill, is it really dangerous to keep it hidden in a drawer? Because if it ain't so, wouldn't it be a better protocol to interrupt the pill WHILE going on topical finasteride for 2 months and in the mean time maximising sperm count, and THEN interrupting also the topical finasteride 10 days prior to trying to conceive? Thank you for your support, Kind regards
More than 10. Actually something like 14. Perceptively I maintained them at the same level than when I started. My hairline receded only a little bit but so slow that I barely noticed the difference until a doctor told me I did lose a little bit in the front. Generally they are thick and don’t fall.
Thanks Matt...something the Doctor pointed out was that the half life of 5ar which has already been inhibited by Finasteride is 30 to 60 days! So effectively, that would mean that the effects of Finasteride last for at least 30 days! According to that, we should be able to take Finasteride only like once a week to maintain it's effects once we build it up in our system. 😃 What do you think, Matt?
@@hairtransplantinindiaMy wife and myself are planning to have a baby. I know l'll have to stop finasteride. Here are my questions: 1- Should l stop finasteride for all the duration of the pregnancy ? 2- What are the alternatives for me during the time l'll stop finasteride ? Regards
protein intake can improve ejaculation mass citrulline or glycerine and ginkgo/ginseng can help with erections or libido if you crush your dht too much it might cause your hormones to get imbalanced, lower the dose and take d3, zinc, ashwagandha, maca, lower stress, sleep enough, eat healthy you shouldnt be taking dht blockers if trying to get your woman pregnant if anything keep the dht blockers far away from your woman because any intake would probably be at detriment of your childs development
Dr bhatti please tell me I just recently got a hair transplant done 10 days back, now in your videos that it is good to have finasteride after hair transplant.but I want to conceive what should I do now although I am taking finasteride with a break of two days.because my existing hairs are falling out.what should I do to save my hairs as well as not compromise my newly transplant and also conceive safely .please sir answer
I think stopping topical fin is more important if you're trying to conceive or your partner is pregnant, since the opportunities to expose them to the drug is much higher. Topical finasteride still goes pretty systemic, I would expect it can cause similar male fertility issues but it's not clear it would be at the same rate as oral finasteride.
you could make the case that stopping topical fin or dut is more important if you're trying to conceive or your partner is pregnant, since the opportunities to expose them to the drug is much higher. I used topical fin, but on the advice of our doctor I took a few months break to conceive with my partner. When she was pregnant, I resumed but used oral fin instead. I even paid for the more expensive 1mg tablets so I wouldn't risk exposure by splitting the 5mg ones in the house. These steps minimized possible fertility concerns, minimized possible harms to the baby, and still preserved my hair.
I was wandering about the Fynzur spray in Germany .. Should I use it everyday or every once a week and how many times should I spray my scalp on that same day ..?
The main reason I'm childfree is because I don't want the younger generation to suffer from androgenic alopecia. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. People who give hereditary diseases to their kids are selfish. Just adopt.
I've been following this doctor for a long time with his own channel, but somehow I have the feeling that his statements are becoming more and more fishy and wishy-washy and not really comprehensible and backed up with studies.
That's just false. I have plenty of friends who had kids (healthy kids) while on finasteride and dutasteride. The only thing to avoid is to cut the finasteride pill in quarters (the powder could be a problem for a pregnant woman). But as long as you take your 1mg finasteride a day (the whole pill) or your 0.5mg of dutasteride a day (the whole soft gel caps) : you will be fine. So you don't need to stop taking finasteride/ dutasteride at all. But if you want to because you are worried then of course go ahead and do it.
We are not talking of potency. We are talking of the likelihood of getting fetal abnormalities. A person who is taking Finasteride is likely potent enough or else he should be off it in the first place!

@@DemetrioSahaquiel You're literally in youtube video that discusses conception while on fin, I didn't mean any disrespect man, just wondering if it's ok to take fin while trying to conceive. Take care.
Sorry, my apologies, it seemed a little too personal af first. I am not trying to conceive yet, but I'm about to have a HT, and after that, interrupting finasteride for some time will be trickier. Therefore, I am only trying to make a plan in my head in advance, for the day I will have to conceive and make that decision. @jeniosk1097
@DemetrioSahaquiel I think the biggest risk is when your wife comes in contact with finasteride and I think there is a way higher risk when you have a solution in your bathroom which maybe drips on the floor, in the sink or whatever. On the other side the concentration in your body should be lower and thus also in your sperm with topical compared to oral fin. I guess taking topical somewhere your wife can't come in contact with, is the best option, maybe even stopping it at least one month before trying to conceive and use a condom in the first 3 month of pregnancy after starting to take it again.
Just watching how I blasted all over the "place" in less than a month was shocking, I used what I talked about the other day, and although it actually took about 5 weeks for my volume to double, I just go'ogled Jan Venstaker's Shooting Ropes and her reaction has been priceless!
This is rubbish! Unless you have PFS yourself, you cannot see why someone else has it. You can be superfit with high testosterone, just like people trying to recover from PFS and yet still be suffering from the lack of libido. Sao Paulo university 2023: "...excess of free testosterone associated with low levels of DHT would cause an epigenetic imbalance in the expression of androgen receptors." It's not a case of just waiting for your libido to recover over time for a many people.
