Alright, for new players imma say this. During acheron's banner, I had created a new account just to re experience the game. And holy, acheron felt shit to play. Reason being is that, I fought cocolia with Acheron Asta Gallagher and Fire MC at that time on story and God, Asta and Gallagher was doing more dmg. Acheron always start the fight with 0 crimson knots (coz the 5 at start is a major trace of her that u can't unlock early) so getting her ult up even at the start was a pain. Don't get me wrong, I tried before with Guinaifen + Pela and dear lord, I just found Asta and Gallagher on break builds Alot better. Plus early on u don't need 2 nihility on acheron coz it's also a major trace on her end that u can't unlock until u defeat scaracabaz. Meanwhile for firefly, yes her super break is in her major trace, however, she performs really well right off the bat due to u only needing to build Break on her
@@Dani-jx3eieh it’s really uncomfy without ruan Mei. I could cope with a mix of asta welt and pela but best I could get was 2 cycles on argenti (my ff is e2s1, with rm it’s zero cycles systematically)
As some have already said. Currently, FF is the best dps, but the community hasn’t come to that consensus bc the new MoC buffs break. However, outside the trotter the blessing is just there to compensate for relics. JQ is indeed Acheron’s complete support. She won’t be ever getting a better one than him. Perhaps, she’ll be good for dual dps teams but this is her best hyper. Interestingly, as of now FF still outcompetes Acheron and this new guy if he doesn’t have his LC; it’s pretty powerful. Specifically, in a 1 boss 1 elite scenario. MoC doesn’t scale that hard with his new kit. Different enemies will give 1 or the other the edge. The difference with JQ and FF team is v small. Imo who’s better is more matchup dependent than anything else. Even with JQ. Arguably more actually.
and a dedicated break support bruh, ruan mei is universal support so it can be replaced to more dedicated support, that + damage from ruan mei is useless on firefly.
Firefly feels more fun for me. And, as a f2p, my Firefly is overall stronger. She only needs Ruan Mei if we're speaking about non f2p friendly teammates. And I got her for my dot anyway. I only worry that Firefly is easily nerfed if Hoyo would want to nerf her
@@Zephy535 For me "nerfed" is more likely. If they decide to put in a moc/other mods a bunch of enemies with blocked toughness bar or greatly increased toughness bar, Firefly will struggle
I have both characters and their signature light cones; even though I love Acheron because it’s Mei and i’m an HI3 guy, Firefly is way way way better lol
Why are you saying that the best Acheron team is SW + pela? WTF?? Have you ever Tried triple Nihility mommy team? Acheron + kafka + BS!! That team has way more dmg than Pela + SW to Acheron btw..
I have a hot take. In my opinion, Firefly gameplay is braindead, it's all about E > Ultimate > E > E > E. Yes she's strong and broken but the gameplay is boring for me. At least for Boothill, I gotta think on who I gotta lock to gain a stack even though he's a lesser version of FF. It comes down to preference whether you just like to play comfortably or think while you play, for a turned based game, I like to strategize rather than a braindead gameplay.
I'm in the opposite side. I find singe dps hypercarry team more boring because it's just "give buff to main dps to do damage". Firefly happens to have a team template where at best, 3 characters are dealing damage (FF, HMC, and Gallagher). I get more dopamine when I see multiple characters dealing damage and not only a single one.
@@vanxxx3043 Wdym buffing dps? It's the same for Firefly, she needs the buff from Hmc and Rm. Boothill does not need a buff for his damage, he only needs Ruan Mei for faster break, other than that, he's a good solo dps.
@@Saybar02 what I meant is a team comp where only a single dps does damage, aka Hypercarry. I did not mean that firefly doesnt need buffs, what I meant is when all of buffs are just meant and poured toward a single character. And hey Im not even trying to argue with you, just sharing my opinion as well.
@@vanxxx3043 for that one, I agree that single hypercarry is pretty boring, but idk the break meta is fun for me, and using Boothill ( even though he's single target ), is fun because I don't have to worry about crit. Just break and pull out the canon
I agree. For Acheron & Firefly I temporarily became a whale. My teams are: Acheron S1E2, Sparkle, Aventurine S1E2, Pela E6. ------- Firefly S1E2, Ruan Mei S1E2, Harmony MC E6, Gallaghar E6. Now the sad thing is that I won't complete my DoT team. I don't need it anymore. I need no other team at all. Pela is swapped for Jiaoqiu S1E1 and Gallaghar gets the Huohuo LC. And with that I'm out of the whale business. (Maybe Sparkle S1E2 when it is possible)
Failing math at school I see. If you want to then go do the calculations yourself, if you can’t then you don’t have the right to argue. Arguments are based on supports such as examples, facts or professional sources. Just a statement on its own isn’t enough. Your statement is the same as the statement: "Arlan is better than Acheron" Neither this nor your statement has any supports so they both are equal in value.

Yup the math has been done for Acheron to even compare 2 FF she needs to run sustainless and even then idk if she can match her until E2+ So unless you're in that top 1% club at = investment FF > Acheron at just about every level.
@@Yin184acheron is a better character overall, firefly can get obsolete easily if they decide to make enemies with a bigger toughness bar or straight up have a unbreakable toughness bar.
@@FireflyIsSamusAranSisterReverse also holds. The more gimmicks they add that don’t benefit Acheron the worse she performs. For example, Cocolia in AS has the extra break done to her when adds are broken for a reason. Without that she’d be a bad pick for the mode. Furthermore, nothing stops them from making a character that allows breaking of locked toughness bars. Sounds like an easy solution to sell, and hoyo does like money.
