Is Forspoken REALLY that bad? | Forspoken

This was a good take. The game is not for me as the writing is too nails on a chalkboard for me, but I see the potential. There is a good game in there and I believe if we can give Cyberpunk a second chance, I can see Forspoken coming into it's own with a second game. Clean up the dialogue and put some more interesting things about the world in the game to explore. Let the world itself be a character kind of like the Fromsoftware games, not a copy but take some ideas. But I am glad you enjoyed it, that means that they will take some of the criticism to heart and make a better game next time so we can join in on the fun. Again this was a refreshing take, really liked the video.

The price is the problem. If it was a $30 or $40 game it seems worth the price. But the AAA price is not justified

I haven't played the game yet, but I definitely will at some point. Combat is the most important part of a game for me and if it's janky, I probably won't enjoy the game as much (in combat focussed games, ofc). The combat in this game looks epic and I'd love to give it a shot in the future. Currently, Im not prepared to pay 70-80 bucks for it, though. I'll probably buy it in a sale at some point. I do wanna give some major props to you! Most people just hate on the game, but I love hearing the positive aspects of forspoken, because that's the main reason you play games for. I don't play games for the negative aspects, I wanna play games because I like em! Plus, you have some strong takes, which I love. It was a great review and you're doing great! I'd love to see more of you in the future. ❤

It’s cool to see a largely positive take on this game. I played the demo on ps5 and just found the game to be very “meh”. Not bad per say but not great and it was then that I decided that the game was definitely a “wait for a sale” for me but this review does give me the hope that whenever I do get the game on sale that it might have at least some gem moments in it which is cool

I haven't play it because the open world seem really empty and bland even if the parkour is cool

I just beat the game. Her character makes sense as a writer myself. there's no reason for her to be a good person yet she still tries and that world changes her throughout the story. I can say some of the stuff should have been cut scenes with the tedious things they had in there but whatever I played hundreds of RPGs that did similar things... Whatever. I'd give the game at 3.5 out of 5 maybe even at 4 because me and her had a few things in common. And I was moved emotionally because of our similarities. The stories fine it's not nothing groundbreaking but it's fine. The actress might have ruined the game a bit too with her mouth on social media in general. It plays really well on PS5 I haven't had any issues. I'll admit I tried to ignore what people are saying to try to enjoy the game myself But the stuff people are saying almost ruined the game for me. If you're interested in it, play it. play anything you want to play don't listen to all that b*******. see it for yourself, If you don't have enough money then don't get it for now or rent it. The movement is fluid and the magic spells are a blast. It takes a little time to get into it... Once you start getting more spells the game gets better. The difficulty can be changed at any time which I didn't like. But the tales of destiny series was like that along with other rpgs but if you want your ass beat, put it on hard.. you going to get it. But you're not rewarded for it, unless the difficulty it self is the reward... Play on normal for best experience. Hard enemies are too spongy and the combat although fun, is not that interesting to be fighting something for 40 min. I don't think any game is for that matter... (zen walks away)

I followed the game since the announcement, and every time I saw a video of it, I immediately thought this game looks incredibly mediocre and generic, with nothing special or interesting about it The gameplay reminds me a lot of the Infamous series though

Yeah this review sounds a lot like the other reviews I've been hearing about the game. The open-world is largely empty A lot of the travel Powers you don't get in till near the end of the game. And her water travel power which is l the surf is largely useless because you have literally no reason to go into the water.

The story is janky. (Until the end) The dialogue is 🙄 But the combat - once you start beating bosses and stealing their moves - is PHENOMENAL. That's where this game shines.

I will most certainly play this game 2-3 years from now after it goes on sale for $10. Hell, I bet this game will be offered for free on the Epic Games Store in that time frame (They gave away Control and Death Stranding so it’s not outside the realm of possibility).

You're a much more easy-going and forgiving person than I am. I appreciate some positive aspects you've mentioned that were not noticeable in the other reviews I have seen eg. the clip at 9:55 - that actually is quite impressive to see, and it is a positive thing to be able to witness what type of action is actually possible within the game. But having now seen multiple review videos of the game, what little of the game that has been demonstrated already has cemented my opinion that it is a subpar experience. To me, the dialogue is extremely grating. After having played the masterpiece that is Elden Ring, this game's world seems boringly barren. And I am generally allergic to cut-scenes - i detest moments in games when control is taken away from me, and this game seems to wrest control away from the player too often and in much too enthusiastic a manner. As you may put it, it is not a game for me. I will not be able to extract much joy out of it as you might.

The game loads amazingly quick if you have a ssd. I load up about 5 seconds in and I heard it's faster if you have a nvme but as for the game I will comment and paste a couple negatives from an older comment I made to someone else "The open world is my issue. There is very little going on out there. Like you can find a cat familiar and the only reward is they can end up at your safehouses sometimes. Also if you only play the campaign you would only see 10% of the map and there are no side quests that take advantage of the world. Which brings up my other issue which is the side quest. All of them are in the town where you can't use your powers, and they don't even flesh out the character that's dragging you around. and they are also very few side quests in general. I think a better alternative would be to have a bounty board in town that gives you powerful break monsters in the unused parts of the map that take advantage of your abilities" With even that thanks to the traversal and combat I still had lots of fun. Hell, I even enjoyed the banter between Frey and Cuff. Auden is the only NPC I like which is unfair because it's not like any of the others get a compelling dialogue

Nah the game is just bad. It took only 1 month for the game's developers to shut down. So even Square enix who put tons of resources into this game doesnt think its worth keeping around. To me Forspoken will always be remembered as that game that came out the same month as Hi-Fi rush

you are right, its not for everyone and someone might like the game while other might dislike. Im in the category that dislike heavily the game. You got a bland semi woke protagonist that leave her burning appartement with the satchel of cash AT HER FEET. It wasnt behind a closed door on fire, it was at her feet. Then all game long she wishes to go back. Go back to what? you got nothing but a life of misery and you now live in a world where you are something. They also try to make you care about the little girl but she dies like .. almost instantly. Everytime im about to care, it always fall short. I know you like the combat but i think its awful, why? You start the game with rock attacks and have to use them ALOT and for a long time. By the time you get some nice looking and fun spells, the game become brain dead easy. Like you spam your best spell and win without effort, dont even need to upgrade yourself, nails, capes etc. the game is just that easy. Theres only 3 good thing in the game, parcours exploration / movement and enemy design, Spells animation. Still its not even enough to bring the game to a passable state where you can recommend it to a nice audience. The game should only be bought at a deep discount.
