Fran wants to adopt the children but Sara's parents are contesting the adoption.

Sara's parents barely came around to meet their grandchildren after their daughter died, they have no right to be contesting anything. Those children got a mother's love with Fran and I loved when they threw it in their grandparents faces that Fran never let them forget their mom. I will say this Sara's father was more open minded than her mother, he was not as judgmental.

Exactly. I mean if they had just been around, Fran probably would not have been hired as a nanny or at least work as often. Many grandparents spend more time with their grandchildren when their parent(s) die.

I agree with you, I believe they are contesting it because they think once she becomes their mother Sara no longer will. and of course if they had even bothered to visit yearly or every couple years they would know that just by speaking to the kids

They were really bad grandparents to miss out on their grandchildren's lives since their mother died and only just showed up after their son-in-law remarried. They may think Fran is an unfit mom, but they are unfit grandparents for their disappearance. If anyone should be ousted from the family, it's them for being judgemental

She had a heart of gold. I’ll take that any day. As naive as she can be, her loyalty was on point. Fran Drescher reminds me of Lucille Ball at times. I wish I could have understood this show as a child because her performance is truly underrated.

I've never regretted to be a mother (thinking of what Sylvia said in the end). Even if children don't fulfill our expectations, still, there's nothing to regret about having them, they stile have given you hope and much fun time.

@@MsSwthrt102 I understand they don't want anyone to replace their daughter as their grandchildrens mother. Still, Fran genuinely loves those children and wants them to be legally hers. She knows she can never replace Sarah and she'll never try to (she won't let them forget their biological mother). Hopefully Sarah's parents do eventually see that. I trust they eventually do *Spoiler* as the adoption does eventually go through.

In New York grandparents have rights and can petition the court for visitation etc. Not sure about other states?

I get you sylvia. My mom tells me the same daily and i understand her, but only after i yell "BUT YOU DID, I RUINED YOU AND IM NEVER MOVING OUT!" and then laugh like a maniac. Is kinda a routine now.

I've never regretted to be a mother. Even if children don't fulfill our expectations, still, there's nothing to regret about having them, they stile have given you hope and much fun time. Your mom is bluffing. She tells that just to make you feel guilty and thus to change you bad behaviour towards her (bad from her point of vew, but if you think you'll agree that you should be nicer to your mom and that her demands are not crazy).

No, she was accused of having an affair with her principal because she was always getting trouble at school which made her spend a lot of time in his office. In a later scene Fran said that her principal did have an affair but it was with another faculty member.

They always joked about Fran being an older woman and how she looked so young and how Maxwell never could find out her true age. But Yetta and Silvia would also make funny comments about how they had a granddaughter over 30 when Fran first started working for Maxwell.

Look up the impeachment hearings of US president Bill Clinton. He had some sexual shenanigans with a couple of CONSENTING women, one of them decided to blackmail him. The whole thing got out and he was questioned in court about it, he lied trying to cover his butt thinking they had no real evidence. They did have evidence, proved it, and Congress attempted to impeach him on grounds of perjury. I forget who exactly Ken Starr was in this, he was either a PI hired by one of the women, or her lawyer, who found a few other additional women. It happened in the mid-90’s, same time as this was aired.
