I'm sick of having to "explain" basic morality to people. I feel like I'm arguing with psychopaths every time I have to explain pro life views. I t alway comes down to "define what is goodness" . I'm not Aristotle. If you don't know why baby killing is wrong you should probably be on a mental hospital.
A 12 year old isn’t mature enough to choose the gender they identify with but is mature enough to give birth to their rapist’s baby? Anyways, nowhere in the Bible does it say life begins at conception. And given how evangelicals vote to prevent abortion and defund any services to help raise the child, they aren’t pro-life, they are pro-embryo. Once the baby is out they tell the mother to kick rocks and figure out how to raise them on their own. Would your God send the unborn to heaven or hell? Would a loving God send them to Hell? If Heaven, wouldn’t you want loads of abortions?
My Comp II professor said the same thing. Granted, he did say we could do abortion as our topic but he strongly advised us not to. So, naturally, I chose to write on why practicing chastity is so important. I got graded a 100%.
Had a friend who was doing a research paper on abortion and why it was terrible. Her professor admitted he was pro-choice and told her he would grade harshly on it, and encouraged her to pick something else. She held firm at first, started doubting in the middle, but we all told her not to let him stop her and finish the paper anyway. Think she got a C or very very low B on it, but we all agreed she did nothing wrong in picking the topic she wanted and he was very unprofessional through the whole thing.
@@vaughanlloydjones3884 we told her that and she agrees. But he's tenured and since it was only a basic class, he's not part of her major track, and she passed the class with a decent grade anyway, she won't pursue it. She's going in for education, so she'll end up with a mix of professors across the spectrums. From what other education majors say, most of those professors just focus on the material and not anything outside of that, so hopefully she won't have such a jerk moving forward.
I teach comp 2, and there are several topics I don’t let my students write about: abortion, euthanasia, immigration, taxation… The biggest reason has to do with how difficult it is for both the student and the greater to be unbiased. It’s also hard for students to really understand how they should do research: form your opinions based on your research, instead of looking for sources to back your side.
@@rebeccabaumgarten7573isn't that the point of grading them? If they approach the topic in a biased way with supportive arguments and evidence, then that seems like a justifiable reason to grade them more harshly. My first thought when that guy asked "didn't God Kill everyone?" is "Don't judges sentence people to death?"There is a difference when God chooses to judge His Creation, and we as humans killing other humans because we are inconvienced by them.
@AWOKEN Catholic Judges issue out the sentencing based on the recommendations of the jury, a judge can lower a sentence to life if they deem fit, so judges have to agree with the juries recommendation and then issue out the sentence, but either way my point is that God killed all with the flood as judgement, which is very different then abortion which is the unjustified killing of human life.
The first step to stopping a troll is identifying the troll. In the case of the man marching with the sign, he assumed that the man asking him about his sign was acting in good faith. I don't fault him for that as it showed his heart was charitably disposed, but it's a bit of a red flag when the interlocutor repeats the clear statement (God is pro-life) back to him asking what it means. Someone who believes the same as the marcher wouldn't have been likely to lead with a question implying a lack of understanding for such a straightforward phrase. When we put ourselves on the front lines, we need to be cognizant that doing so will bring detractors, and in the debates regarding matters of human life and sanctity such detractors prioritize their own autonomy, perspectives and desires above the sanctity of life. Ergo, they're not going to play nice, and accordingly we've got to be prepared for it. Be not deceived, as Christ instructed, so to that end it pays to know thy enemy.
I had a professor give a similar “no-abortion-speech rule”. But I wasn’t just abortion, it was a number of hot politically divisive issues at the time. She said she did it because she used to have several people choose identical topics, and it also lead to arguments that were way too heated.

@@mattjackson450 long story I will try to make short. One of the biggest movers was studying skepticism and then male-female relationships. There also played a part of my psychology, but I didn't think the moral argument was good. I didn't see what's wrong with saying morality is just s biproduct of bio-social product. I also wondered why would God use a process like evolution to create life. A lot of arguments for type of theistic personalist God rely more on understanding science so I couldn't use kalam and fine tuning with much certainty because I hear conflicting views and I don't know which is right. I thought that Thomistic arguments that prove God of classical theism are great because they deduce God, but I realized they also have objections that I don't have an answer to, but even if accept stage 1, why would we accept stage 2? Tell him that you’re lost and you don’t know what to think. That’s what I did and he did it for me. I used to be on the fence and then God showed me who he was. I would also be weary that you might be projecting on those Christians you mentioned. Unless you know for sure that all Christians you’re encountering are using God to cope, you’re just interpreting their actions from your own lens and your own views on life, but not theirs. I like to use a "net-zero" argument: God created those people He destroyed in the Flood (who brought it on themselves by their wickedness), so to take those lives he created away leaves him at a "net-zero" at worst (which isn't even actuality, since things exist, making God necessarily a net positive) The main retort is "well, can parents kill their kids?" which doesn't follow since the parents use things given to them by God in order to "make" their children. I've actually heard that a lot, that teachers don't want abortion as a debate topic. Ironically, what first educated me about abortion and got me interested in speaking out against it was a speech class I took. The topic specifically had to be a controversial topic and the topic I chose was abortion. My teacher had no issue with me giving a speech on that topic. In fact, the entire purpose was to talk about both sides of the issue in a way that was balanced so that no one listening could tell which side of the issue you came down on. That was in the early 2000's, though, so I guess things have changed.

I can understand rebutting lame channels like The Young Turks, but tiktok trolls aren't even worthy of a video. All they do is ask stupid or unprepared people gotcha questions rather than arguing in good faith. It's useless to people of both parties, but the interviewer usually benefits from it more than the interviewed because they are the ones who had more preparation and can chose who to interview to make one side look better/worse.
As a college writing professor, the reason we don’t let our students write about abortion (as well as other hot button topics) is because 1. No matter their position, doing research won’t change it, so they’re not really learning how research is supposed to work: you form your opinions based on your observations, rather than looking for sources to back you up 2. It’s hard for us as professors to be impartial graders, since we have our own opinions. 3. It’s a topic highly susceptible to logical fallacies. 4. It’s exhausting to read a bunch of 18 to 20 year olds (in other words, usually not fantastic writers), talk about the same hot button issue.
We have a problem with our educational system when debate is restricted. Something clearly occurred when our colleges became high schools and high schools, in worse circumstances, elementary schools. It's a terrible case of education inflation whereby the education's quality has deflated in merit and value. And it surely doesn't help with the weighted GPA. I do concur with your reasoning; our children, especially after the lockdowns, have weaker cognitive ability. Something has to be done with our primary schooling so we can go back to the classical collegiate center of learning. I can argue for less public sector unions, less administration, less PTO, and removal of the US Department of Education. Yet, the quality of learning needs to start at home and, if prudence permits, the neighborhood cul de sack/block. Innocence over ignorance. Let the children know about life, not let them be shocked by it.
1-4 hold for any issue under the sun. And good grief, if you think "professional" researchers aren't motivated to justify positions they already hold rather than impartially following the path of reason wherever it may lead, you must be really new at this, lol.
@@danieltemelkovski9828 I’m well aware of rampant bias and dishonesty among scholarship; reading scholarship is part of my job. It’s also part of my job while teaching comp 2 to teach the basics of research. That’s extremely difficult to do when it comes to hot button topics flooded with mudslinging, propaganda, and generally bad writing and argumentation, because everyone is throwing their hat in the arena (justifiably). I do give an assignment where students have to find five recent news articles, one for each category of claim. Those articles can be about anything they want, including the topics I’m not letting them write about on their major paper.
@@AJKPenguin I teach comp 2. That’s basic argumentation. We are identifying fallacies, keeping our appeals straight (the ones with Greek names), finding recent news articles (on any topics they want), and determining which category of claim they fall under, etc. I also have them read Plato, Orwell, and Jonathan Swift. Fact of the matter is that teaching the basics of argumentation is much more effective when the topics aren’t liable to make everyone’s blood boil, regardless of the intelligence level that supposedly accompanies certain generations. If I were teaching a 300 or 400 level class, it would be different. Besides, every prompt has to have parameters-that’s the definition of a prompt. I’m having my students pick a topic under debate within their own major. That’s hardly silencing debate. I’m deliberately sending them out into the current conversations within their fields.
I think Trent misses the mark with treating Street Trolls. The best response is to out troll them. “Yes God cleansed the evil from the world like Trolls and Journalists 😊”
Even without the trolling angle, my first thought was "God only kills the wicked. God has perfect knowledge to know who is truly wicked. Babies are never truly wicked."
@@Joker22593 again your not going to debonk a street troll in real time. So the first thought “God punishes the wicked” is based, should be said, and let the leftist troll wail and gnash his teeth.
Dear Trent, I heartedly agree with all you said in this video, but another way of rebutting them comes from understanding two simple things: First, what the Pro-life movement actually stands for [it stands against *the vile act of murdering innocent human life* , hence a sin]; and, second, the original Hebrew verb context for the 5th commandment [which we simply translate as "you shall not kill"], where is not the act of killing itself what is wrong or sinful, but the justification behind it is what dictates if it is a sin or not. Therefore, given proper context, is not wrong for God to have purged the human race in Noah's story, on the contrary is a very just act. Yet, God purging evil doesn't change the fact He is in favor of protecting innocent life. TL;DR: God is Pro-life and He also purged evil and wickedness in Noah's story, and those two statements are in perfect harmony. Claiming that one of them should neutralize the other is a "false dilemma" fallacy.
Trent, I would be really interested to hear your commentary on the recent video "Should abortion be allowed AFTER BIRTH?" on Peter Boghossian's RU-vid channel. It was a really interesting discussion.
Hey Trent . Wondering if you have seen Pastor Jeff Durbin’s apologetics outside of abortion mills and what you think of his approach as well as the abolition movement generally as contrasted to the pro-life movement. I am an abolitionist myself.
God does everything for the better of our souls to get us to heaven. We still have free will to choose what we want to do. The flood came because he wanted to show us how bad sin is and only with God can we overcome it and repent. ( I know in moments like this with pressure it can be hard to talk sometimes ). This man just seems to be trying to provoke him.
My high school government class didn't let us choose "high emotional" debate topics like abortion he said, only just because we were a bunch of high schoolers and in his past experience- it would always get the whole room worked out with lots of yelling and fighting and I think he just got tired of dealing with that lol
I would have dismissed that rude man too stating God is sovereign and he has the last word. He destroyed sinners not innocents. The gotcha question is just the same old question from Lucifer rephrased. Did God say you couldn’t do such and such? Or, didn’t God do such and such? (Which is ultimately justification for Non Serviam, “I will not serve”) And the same response applies Yes, but “Mikha'el”- who is like God? St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle.
2:23 Q: Didn't God also warn humans years ahead of time about the flood? A: Yes Q: Didn't God also allow a way of escape to be prepared? A: Yes Q: Didn't God also list multiple reasons WHY he sent a flood? A: Yes (Funny how the questioner dishonestly ignores those pesky little details).
This is why you have to be very careful and prepared (and ask people why they are asking certain questions before trying to answer them). Not all skeptics are very interested in the truth. Some only want to make you look foolish (which in this case was mostly the fault of the person being asked) and have little genuine curiosity for the truth on certain topics.

i have something may be you want read. Big Bang ! How can the Big bang happen? The question is is it possible to create Cosmic from void? I will answer "yes": 100% possible. I will show you that Human DNA can achieve eternal life, humanity can create eternal world. ~~~~ human consciousness creates the formula: + simple: 1+2 =3. is this truth? + a bit more complicated, we have a circle: x^2+y^2=R^2. By consciousness, people also recognize the body including: + human Body= head (a) + chest (b) + abdomen (c) + legs (d). + Cosmic= sum of everything in Cosmic(a,b,c...w,y,z) So how to create Cosmic from void? Everyone knows that 1+2=3#0. This is not possible, can never be zero with this. But with the highest and strongest consciousness of the Creator, The creator found a solution: + very simple: 1+2-3=0. + More complex than the circle would be: x^2+y^2-R^2=0. * Thus, after 1 cycle of activity returns to 0, consciousness is born again. Your consciousness is created by the Creator. Consciousness of all living things in Cosmic. Human consciousness cannot exist in nothingness like the Creator. Now to human DNA: 0=total human DNA(a,b,c,d,e). Now to Cosmic, Just a very simple rule that is: Sum of Cosmic(light + dark)=0. Sum of Cosmic(matter + darkmatter)=0. Sum of Cosmic(1,2,3... a,b,c... w,y,z)=0. So in Cosmic there are men and women. you can only choose one woman for yourself. 1-1=0 is the best balance principle. * So you've got a way to create an infinitely expanding universe faster than the speed of light. That's how the creator created Cosmic from void. ~~~~ For the universe to be stable and good, the Creator created this principle: Sum of Cosmic(1,2,3... a,b,c... w,y,z)+equilibrium=0. you are clear all that, right. Darkness was born simultaneously during Cosmic creation. that why we have trouble with darkness. So we need to learn how to fight the darkness, fight the evil in Cosmic. This is also the reason why humans have to live in illusion universe to protect us from destruction. The universe we are observing is just an illusion. The earth is a school for all to learn to control themselves without harming others. Time to live on earth is not only doing good, useful to live. and get rid of bad deeds that are useless and harmful to others but also learning how to unlock to master Human DNA. The process of being born and dying is called recycling. Every time you are born and die, you lose the energy to live and return home. So try to play hard as you can to more progress, stronger your mind and ability your body. #### the question How could Jesus come back to life after being crucified? how possible human could come back to life after death? Your DNA the most valuable gift, great gift in Cosmic that Creator give Human DNA has proven its ability to everyone that it can create a very beautiful and healthy body at the age of 18. do you remember about your body when you at 18s? Your DNA created your body at 18s, right. a very beautiful, strong and healthy body at the age of 18s. this is real. After Human DNA creates a good and healthy human body, it goes to sleep. All Human need is to learn how to awaken your own Human DNA. Your DNA is Cosmic's greatest technology and Cosmic's most powerful weapon. Human DNA has the source code to distinguish right from wrong and recognize and fight darkness and evil. The human heart also has the source code of compassion and love without lie that leads to the source of true happiness forever. Human's fingerprint is a seal that the Creator has reserved for each person. But Cosmic's greatest gift is only for those who deserve it. So what are you waiting for? Find out and learn to unlock your own DNA. Once you unlock your DNA, you can return home to see the Creator. @@@@ When you fail to master your DNA. You will die. if your mind is so weak that you cannot control your physical body. You will become a plant person. But if your mind is strong enough. You can go into your DNA to create any body type you want. Right now you are in there 1.3kg of bean pulp called brain. If your mind is strong enough to bring your consciousness into your DNA. Well, you'll have a big bang in your head. it's a super cool feeling, You will live forever. @@@@ activate Human DNA to put your consciousness to higher dimension of Cosmic: the principle to put consciousness to DNA? In order to have a child, a man and a woman must find each other to activate the birthing process. Putting human consciousness into DNA is similar, just finding it back to nature to activate the DNA unlocking process. the principle to put consciousness to DNA is you are find back to nature to activate the DNA unlocking process are follow: >> ways to start strengthening your mind 1. let's start clapping. to dispel worries in life. Inhale slowly, then pause for 5 seconds and exhale slowly. 2. Wake up early at 4 am, listen to soothing music, listen to birds singing. Listen to this song. 3. Erase bad thoughts in your head, low thoughts, guilty thoughts. Clear your mind of thinking only what you want to do. you need pray with Creator to He will help you get rid bad thoughts in your head. 4. Take a cold shower when you wake up in 30s. you wake up, listen 2 songs then cold shower. >> find back to nature: 1. There are enough waves in the sky to help activate your DNA, so you need to sleep outside more. Like sleeping on the terrace. Concrete walls and iron roofs block the waves that activate your DNA. 2. Walking barefoot on the ground also helps you in activating Human DNA. Walking slowly in the rain with bare feet, Listening to the rain falling, watching raindrops falling, watching thunder are very effective ways to activate DNA. 3. Listen to the birdsong, the stream flowing, the wind blowing, watch the clouds fly in the sky. Just listen and look, try to get rid of all thoughts in your head. When you have thoughts in your head, let's redirect the mind focus by look to the images you are seeing in the sky or listening to music. 4. Pay special attention to the sun's X flare emission. This is a very powerful way of activating DNA. Can you use the camera in your smartphone to check if the sun has an X flare? If you see the ray flare sun shining, 2 or more on your smartphone, then go outside and stand in the sun for about an hour.
@Excuse me but Yet Mary also knew she would see Him again in Heaven, having been born without sin by the grace extended to her from the sacrifice God Himself was willing to give to show how much He loved us, and how far He would go for our redemption. God also abhorred human sacrifice (see old testament); he gave Himself as a sacrifice, at His pleasure, because He had the authority, and because it was good. Because God is all good he exemplifies what is all good, ie self-sacrifice; "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." He died upon the cross, descended into Hell, beat down the Gates of Hell, defeated Death, rose again, and assumed Body and Spirit into heaven. He also granted his mother the right to assume, body and spirit, into Heaven to sit as the Queen of Heaven, or the Queen Mother of the King (see old testament), that she may bask in the eternal love and glory of her son. Does that sound worthy of worldly suffering?
@ 8:34 But if that's the case, then why is it that there is the "human rights for life", will it not destroy the idea of this fundamental right of human for life if we will say that we don't have the right for the life that we had right now?
It's always ironic that these very people who claim that God is mean for chastising people will also advocating fiercely for a mother's "right" to kill her own kid!
My concise response is: "Well that was judgement for sins. God is pro capital punishment too. Tell me what sins unborn babies have committed? None? So like Noah they get to live."
See now that I, I alone, am he, and there is no god besides me. It is I who bring both death and life, I who inflict wounds and heal them, and from my hand no one can deliver. - Deuteronomy 32:39
I’m still confused on the authority part. I understand that all have sinned and that life is a grace given by God, but that he is justified in taking it away because our original sin does not merit that right of life. However could not an argument be made that I can kill anyone I want because the person being killed has original sin just like how God kills? A rebuttal to this that I can think of is that all humans are already guilty and thus have absolutely no rights whatsoever except what is provided by the creator as a gift/grace. So would I be correct in saying that human rights flow from Grace?
The pro-choice retort in this case wasn't to defend the pro-choicer's belief about God, though. It was to make the pro-life sign seem internally inconsistent. I think it's better to make the pro-life arguments independent of religious arguments. Killing an innocent human is wrong for everyone, not just those who follow a certain faith.
*Abortion will never be truly abolished as long as society continues to tolerate any form of artificial contraception and the contraceptive mentality in general. After all, abortion is the inevitable backup when those fail.* *Down with incrementalism! Screw 14A jurisprudence! Hooray for subsidiarity, 10A, and **_Dobbs v. Jackson!_*
I concur, however 14th Amendment jurisprudence has its place; it ought to be applied to promote and preserve life. Without life, no liberty. Without authentic liberty. . .not to be confused with license. . .no life.
It is my understanding that our resurrected body in heaven will be supernatural. It will have some of the same abilities as the resurrected body of Jesus. Being able to pass through walls and to move at the speed of thought etc... I once heard from a priest that we were going to replace the angels or maybe do their job. This makes sense for me because it seems God could have us in heaven without these supernatural powers. He would be giving us these upgrades or superpowers for a purpose. For a future work for his glory . To equip us to do our Future jobs / vocations. If we were meant just to be couch or cloud potatoes . We wouldn't need the extra gift's and abilities.. I would like you to comment on what saints have said about this subject and your own thoughts.
Not going to lie, I actually found his videos pretty entertaining. 😂 the people really surprise me with their thinking. Heart is right, mind, not so sure.
@ 8:57 If you say we cannot kill people like God kills people, then how about this case, there is a killer that has a gun and wants to kill an innocent child while you were there, the only one who can protect the child through this one and only way, by killing the killer. Will you not kill the killer to save an innocent life? @ 9:05 - 10:08 - 10:37 I think I can accept this as the answer for the question above.
I don't think God wants women to have abortions whether they are "legal" or not. Neither should we. Nonetheless, God grants us free will. Don't make an idol out of the legal status of abortion. It's counterproductive.
People are happy when abortion is illegal because it will drastically reduce abortion rates as many women do not want to face prison or large fines for their actions. I don't think many (if any) are under the belief that making it illegal will totally eradicate the action. It just puts a physical consequence with the action and will prevent many abortions from taking place. In the same way murder decreases, but is never zero, when it is illegal.
@@Catholicsquirrel Clearly a lot of people are not happy when abortion is illegal. And nobody proposes penalties for the women who seek out abortions. Do you recall the debacle DJT stepped into when he proposed that? This obsession over the legal status of abortion leads otherwise "orthodox" Catholics to put their full and public support behind a wanton adulterer to be the leader of the free world and example to millions of children of how they should live their lives. People who vote for Trump because they are "prolife" are clearly pro-choice when the sin comes to adultery. The hypocrisy is rife.
@@es8059 I don't know a single person that is pro-life who is not happy over abortion being illegal. I certainly support penalties for women that seek to and kill their children. Not sure how Trump came into this at all, and I don't recommend it. You're trying to argue two different moral points and conflate them as one. Not sure what you mean when you say, "People who vote for Trump because they are "prolife" are clearly pro-choice when the sin comes to adultery."
@@Catholicsquirrel Tbh, I don't care if abortion is made illegal. It won't affect me in the least. If it reduces the number of abortions, fine. But we should be consistent. Adultery destroys families. We should also be for criminalizing it. And then candidates like Donald Trump (touted for his prolife stances) would be a multiple felon and not eligible to be president. Be consistent is all I'm saying.
@@es8059 I think a nonchalant attitude towards the legality of abortion is missing the point. It's like being begrudgingly pro-life and not understanding the magnitude of abortion. Adultery does destroy families. I would be all for criminalizing it. However, in a secular state, which the US is, the government shouldn't have that much power. It's one of many reasons that classical liberalism isn't a natural conclusion of the Catholic Church. Although adultery does destroy families and is gravely immoral, I don't think it's fair to equate infidelity and murder. In fact, the reason that Moses allowed the Israelites to divorce one another in the OT is because they were choosing to murder their spouse in order to nullify their marriage covenant. So, we can very clearly see that although God hold adultery to be gravely immoral, it is not *as* grave as murder. Similarly, in all reality, *most* politicians shouldn't be able to run for office. Almost all of them have committed mortal sins and been unrepentant. Very few, if any are actually striving for virtue.
10:50 I've really gotta disagree with this methodology. The whole point of their argument isn't "Killing is wrong, God kills, therefor God is bad" but "God is good, God is pro-choice, therefor pro-choice is good"- It's not a contradiction to the abortionist argument to say "Well what if God plays by your rules instead?", that's EXACTLY what they want you to say
@@stcolreplover I agree, it very easily turns into a race to the bottom. In Trent's defense I think he intended for such a strategy only where the prochoicer genuinely had a blind rage against their idea of a "sociopathic god", rather than the more likely case of a fedora-tipping zealot trying to win arguments.

Lol, we were tasked to work on a semester-long research paper in my English Comp II class, and I immediately asked if I could do abortion. The professor told me no, and we fought it out. In the end, it was made clear to me that there would be some academic danger in doing so. So I ended up choosing something far more “palatable.” Watching this makes me wish I’d done abortion (from the pro-life position) just to spite the professor lol
Trent, in the case of identical twinning, still the 2nd (temporally speaking) of the twins begins his life at the moment of conception of its cell replication from the 1st twin. So I disagree with you - even in the case of identical twins life begins at conception.
@@kajadaw4313 but that does not answer the question. Is God goodness because it is good or did God choose the goodness because He recognized it as good? Is God wholly dependent upon those properties that make up the divine nature, or did He choose them? IS God a property? If so, then how is He also a person with divine attributes: omniscience, omnipotent, free-will, etc.
Idk about y’all but when I draw a picture and it turns out to be horrible I throw it away because it’s trash. I have rights over my picture because I created it. God is the only one who has rights over us, his creation.
Look at the original state of humans in which God designed us... humans were immortal. There was no death or slavery. It is only after the corruption of sin entered that death also entered. Since God is a just judge, God cannot ignore or sweep evil under the carpet. And that is where God's love comes into the picture and you see God coming into human form and taking the punishment of sin for us. (God is light and cannot ignore the darkness of sin and God is love and couldn't leave us doomed in sin).
If you’ve read even a little bit of the Bible, you’d know God is not pro life unless you’re just going to make a bunch of stuff up and ignore everything else.
If you look at the original state of man (in what was called the garden of Eden) humans were immortal. There was no death. Only after disobedience to God was committed, did death enter. So, I'd say that God is pro-life but death entered due to the actions of humans. The guy in the video who asked the Q (TheGoodLiars) also conveniently ignores the reasons why a great flood was sent (a flood that God warned humans ahead of time about and also prepared away of escape).
@@switzerlandful That seems like special pleading. And certainly seems outside of what scripture teaches. There are tens of millions of miscarriages every year. There are millions more killed by mosquitoes. Children die of cancer every day. None of these things happened because of sin.
@@ifeelfine72 You still seem to be ignoring the fact that none of that existed in God's original design. If you're going to ask if the God of the Judeo/Christian Bible is a pro-life God, you at least have acknowledge the original state in which God designed things as described in the Biblical narrative. God's plan was not for death to exist originally otherwise God would have happinly included it as a common thing in the Garden of Eden.
@@ifeelfine72 Later in the Biblical narrative, you also have the God of the Judeo/Christian Bible coming down to Earth in human form, suffering for the sins of many, giving up His own life, and then rising from the dead three days later (and by doing so breaks the power of death and defeats it) so that others can have eternal life. In 1st Corinthians 15: 26 it even says that *"The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."* (Jesus Christ, who is God in flesh, destroys death which would indicate He is a pro-life God or a God of Life).
6:27 Numbers 5 certainly says miscarry or “womb drop” which the New Oxford Annotated with the Apocrypha says “may signify miscarriage if the woman is pregnant or perhaps the inability to have children if not pregnant.”
I mean to take the argument further, God killed every person who ever lived because we all die someday. But why? This is a consequence of the fall. Death was not part of God's plan, it's a consequence of our choice to sin. That's also why all of the people died in the flood. As a consequence of sin. God created a logical universe with consequences for actions. He doesn't relish in our death but wants us to live with him forever. So yes he is pro life
That can be a useful shorthand way to look at it, but it also creates a problem, so you have to be careful. It was God himself who decided that death must be the consequence for sin. He could have chosen some other consequence - he's God, he can choose anything - so given that he chose death to be the consequence, it seems that death actually was part of his plan.
Didn't God kill everyone on Earth? Yes he did! God is infinitely wise, he can take such a action. We are fallible and limited we don't get to make this kind of choices about who lives and dies. We are not God to decide who lives and who dies.
Repent and trust in Jesus. we deserve Hell for our sins. For example lying, lusing, saying God's name as a cuss word and stealing our just some examples of sin which we can all admit to doing at least one of those. For our sin we deserve death and Hell, but there is a way out. Repent anf trust in Jesus and you will be saved. Repentence is turning from sin. So repent and trust in Jesus. He will save you from Hell, and instead give you eternal life in Heaven. John 3:16 Romans 3:23❤😊❤😊❤
God flooded the earth because of the depravity among the humans during that time. God struck down Sodom for the same reason. They all 100% deserved the punishment.
@@fuzzywuzzy1355 the earth was corrupted enough for God to desire it to be cleansed, we know that on occasion God wills the destruction of the 'innocent', as we also see in other parts of genesis. This morality is consistent with divine love due to the properties of eternity.
I’m confused: is about an absolut moral standard on how to judge certain actions or a matter of who does it? You seem to imply the later. How then can we point to God as the standard for what is moral if it doesn’t apply to him? This seems rather arbitrary to me.
So Trent’s entire argument is the special pleading fallacy. Murdering babies is atrociously evil……unless it’s god doing it. Then it’s perfectly fine and just. Barring the fact that’s a text-book fallacy, in order for that argument to work, you’d have to somehow prove the underlying premise that god is perfect loving and just by nature. If he’s out there killing babies in floods, children by bears, and first-born sons via the angel of death (among several other genocidal acts against innocent human beings), I’d argue that directly cuts against any argument that this god is anywhere close to moral perfection.
@@chezjowy8596 “god doing it” looks like, as one prime example, god killing every human being on the planet by flooding the earth save for Noah and his family. Countless innocent men, women, children, and babies both born and unborn all killed by the flood god himself sent.
It's not special pleading when you're dealing with someone or something that's categorically special, such as in this case - God. I thought this was something that's taken for granted among people who understood logic and philosophy.
We are ALL a former fetus - and some of us missed being murdered so we could reach adulthood. So when does a fetus start living - immediately. Those evil people who encourage abortion are so deluded they behave like a false god thinking they have the right to decide who lives or dies. They will eagerly stand together to protect a nest of owl eggs, but they have no concern about the precious egg of a human being. Jeremiah 1:5 & John 3:36.
Most conceptions will be spontaneously aborted mainly due to genetic defects with the fertilized egg. So how does "I sanctified thee and I ordained thee" Apply to all those lost conceptions??? God already knew us and Jeremiah before the creation of the universe. What does the bible say about distorting scripture???
Most defenders of abortion are having to defend their position for the first time in years. They've had the privilege of being lazy with their arguments for the past few decades. Now they know they need to work out their position. So many will turn to actual arguments for the first time in their lives.
Around 11:22 you have undermined your own argument and confirmed that God is NOT pro life. So spell it out: God is an authoritarian dictator who does things as he pleases to and does not care much about morality. Gift of life. Your analogy is at least weird. $20 per day... Creating life is making ourselves responsible for that life. It doesn't matter if we are "just reproducing" something what was created by God. Logically it's the same thing. If you gave the life to your children, you provide them with food, shelter and clothing every single day. Would it be moral if you had stopped of doing so and make your children suffer or even die from starvation? No one with the right mind would call you a moral parent. You'd be labeled as a cruel, unjust and *abusive parent.* If God can do it then you have to provide justification for it. Otherwise it's just a fallacious special pleading argument.
I`m not religious, but judaism makes more sense than christianity regarding abortion: " Abortion is NOT murder until 30 days after birth" The newborn child is not considered fully viable until it has survived thirty days following birth, as is stated in the Talmud: Rabban Simeon ben Gamliel said: "Any human being who lives 30 days is not a nephel [abortus] because it is stated: ‘And those that are to be redeemed of them from a month old shalt thou redeem (Numbers 18:16),’ since prior to thirty days it is not certain that he will survive.” Further support for the necessity of a 30‑day postpartum viability period for adjudicating various Jewish legal matters pertaining to the newborn comes from Maimonides, who asserts: " if it (the child) is born before the end of nine months, it is regarded as an abortion until it has lived for thirty days, and if one kills it during these thirty days, one is not put to death on its account."
