Anyone in FMCG Sales should be able to do FMCG margin calculations which is important for any FMCG Business. They should know whether GST is a part of Retailer margin and Distributor margin. In this video we have discussed GST as a part of Retailer Margin and Distributor Margin. This will help FMCG entrepreneurs create the right bills at each level.

Manufacturer rate is 77.30, will he not pay GST as he might have paid some GST for raw materials. Can you please make a video showing complete cycle with great examples (as you always do)?

Plz explain this point-End consumer is paying the entire 12% GST on MRP of Rs.100..ie. Rs.10.71 from his pocket. On top of that Retailer is paying the incremental GST from his pocket ie. (10.71-9.74)=Rs.0.97..and Distributor is paying the incremental GST from his pocket as well..ie.(9.74-9.27)=Rs.0.47. If it is correct, that the end consumer has to bear the burden of entire 12% GST, why is govt charging incremental GST from Distributor & Retailer, or why does the incremetal GST paid by distributor & retailer, is not substracted from GST paid by end consumer..On a product of MRP Rs.100 with 12% GST, how can govt get more than 12% tax..ie.(10.71+0.97+0.47)=Rs.12.15..Is this justified?

Hey @Souvik Dhar, That's a very smart question even I had dabbled sometime in the past. The answer lies in the basic reason of implementing GST tax- it is a "consumption" based tax There are multiple steps an item goes through from manufacture or production to the final sale. 1. Buying of raw materials is the first stage, -- towards the production or manufacture. 2. Post manufacturing, there is the warehousing of materials. 3. Next comes the sale of the product to the retailer. 4. And in the final stage, the retailer sells you -the end consumer - the product, completing its life cycle. Goods and Services Tax will be levied on each of these stages, which makes it a "MULTI STAGE TAX". When the product passes from 1st stage to 4th stage, "value addition" is done by the concerned intermediately and sold furthur. Hence, govt owe to charge tax on it. Had been the case that distributor sold the retailer without any margin/markup, the GST implication would be zero in that case. Hope it helps :)

You are an intelligent person and I always like your's videos on FMCG, Your way of describing the contents shows you have a long experience in FMCG industry. The course which you are going to start ie FMCG ke badsah that will cost 14000 /- . Why you made it so expensive why don't you charge minimal cost so that everyone can afford and watch it and take benefits from it ?? Please think once on it.

Regarding DP margin the formula of division by 1.05 is not clear. When I'm using the basic 4:31 formula by subtracting from PTR and multiply by 5% ( PTR - (PTR x 5%) there's a difference in value coming comparing your formula. Why this error ? The difference is becoming more when mrp of product is high.
