When my husband and I adopted our rabbit he was about 8 months old and the spca didn’t have a lot of info on him other than he was surrendered. It took about a year and a half for him to be totally comfortable with us and not run away at every sound. It was about when he turned 3 that we really saw a change in his behavior and even now (he’ll turn 5 in May) he still has moments where he dashes off under our bed or couch and he still does not like to be picked up. My husband and I just say he has a past that we’ll never know and that’s ok - we love him and we get down to his level to pet him and give him treats. I’m sure with all the love you and your fiancé are giving Max she’ll get used to everything over time even if she still has a past. She’s very lucky to have the two of you 💙🐰🐶

I was so close to finishing Hamnet when I saw you post this video, so I had to hurry up and finish before hearing your thoughts! In the end I thought I would like this book so much more than I did, I was surprised to be one of the people that didn't care for it so much. On the other hand, I do agree that the ending line was absolutely PERFECT and such a clever way of tying it all together. Thank you for the great video as always!

I absolutely loved Hamnet! As a mother, this particular quote resonated deeply with me: [POSSIBLE SPOILER!] “And Agnes finds she can bear anything except her child’s pain. She can bear separation, sickness, blows, birth, deprivation, hunger, unfairness, seclusion, but not this: her child, looking down at her dead twin. Her child, sobbing for her lost brother. Her child, racked with grief.” What a fantastic book! I also thought of you recently when I purchased an adorable strawberry tshirt at Old Navy! 🍓

We have a pit who also was clearly treated very poorly before we found her (she was about 6 months old, my wife found her on the side of the road) and she’s finally becoming more confident at 6 years old. To be fair, my wife was really depressed before we met so I only started working with the dog on her issues when Covid hit. Pits are such good dogs and they’re so willing and eager to learn!
