This is the exact video I was looking for! Played a couple games past tutorial back in the day but wanted to pick it back up and felt so lost. Thank you for breaking down the modes and pros/cons of jumping in now. Definitely feel more prepared going in

This video is insanely underrated. Amazing video and now I’m actually really curious to give battlegrounds a try! It looked intimidating to learn so I avoided it but this video made it sound like fun.

Is Hearthstone still worth playing in 2024? In a word NO! Why? When it first came out 10 years ago Hearthstone was finely balanced with lots of close games. Now it is not. Cards, and especially the Legendary cards, have become more and more powerful as the years have gone by. Now we have reached the stage where much fewer games end up being close. I don't know about you but for me playing lots of close games is a lot more exciting than playing lots of one sided games.

I was afraid of that. Competitive collectable card games all have a couple things in common. Starting on the ground floor is best, and you need money to be truly competitive.
@JokuRandomPoju
@JokuRandomPoju Месяц назад
@@AeternusNox.You used to need money to be truly competitive. I just stqrted playing last year after a loooooooong hiatus and i have to say getting back into the game was 1000000x easier than in classic hearthstone. You even get to pick a free metadeck if you are a beginner, and gold making is so much faster and the game is generally exponentially more acceasible than it was in, say, 2016. But it get what you mean, the power level of cards nowadays is Very annoying sometimes but to me it makes the game more interesting, because you can absolutely turn around a rollout lose ir your opponent makes a mistake, due to power level increase. But then again, there will be cards like Reno, lone ranger that feel AWFUL to play against but i dont think thats a problem with hs in general

I like all other modes on the game except for battlegrounds cause it is too complicated. Missing "Duels" mode on hearthstone.

I picked it back up after like a 6 year break. And yea there’s lots of annoying OP new cards but people rely on them too much. Be smarter, counter them. Idk if this is much of a flex but I’m in diamond rank 5 without any of the really op new cards. Yea it was frustrating at first because of those damn titan cards that everyone else seems to have and I don’t but there are ways to counter it.

I was thinking about starting a card game I chose between hearthstone and yugioh I decided for blizzard 😁 why? Because I don’t have to read like 12 pages long effect of a card.
@CYMainA.I

Just hop into master duel, 12 pages is just for pendulum decks, and most of the yugioh players dont read anyway 😂

Absolutely not worth your time, dont even bother trying. When youll get some rank the hell starts cause they have cards that you literally can not attack, pay to win bullshit. Oh look this is portal where each turn 2 3/4 taunt demons will appear and you can not destroy portal, wow such a nice thing, awesome experience.

You can spend as much money as possible, and you will never stand a chance against the pros. Saying HS is pay to win in standard is a massive disservice to competitive gamers in general. ITS A TRADING CARD GAME. It cost money, because the company objective is to make profits as well as continue to develop the game and the community. You even said it yourself, you dont want to learn all the new cards and abilities...which is precisely the reason why, you will never make it high in standard. Also OP legendaries exist is every game, its not a redflag its called powercreep, and its not as nefarious as people make it sound.

I agree that its skill based, and that pro's can do extremely well with budget decks because they are good at the game. Being pay to win doesn't make the game bad, but If you take 2 brand new players, one drops $200 and copies a meta deck with a high win rate, and the other uses the starter deck, the person who paid has a massive advantage. And some people don't like that, so its important to point it out.

They can make profit from cosmetics. If any content that is actually used in game beyond cosmetic is locked behind a paywall, or can be accessed earlier on payment then the game is in some respect pay to win. Play a game like cs or apex legends etc, you can buy cosmetics but it's a level playing field in which the better player will win 99% of the time. Trying to use the argument that a new player can't pay to beat a pro is just hyperbole and doesn't represent the experience that the vast majority of players will experience. Most players will never play against a professional and those who can't afford to pay are disadvantaged by being denied access to powerful cards used in meta decks. The problem is some players in the Hearthstone community are incredibly defensive if anybody dares to offer up any form of criticism. Blizzard could easily profit from cosmetics like many other game developers do. To crush any argument around pay to win all they have to do is not allow people to buy their way to cards. It's like playing an FPS and locking certain weapons behind a paywall, then trying to argue that the pros would win without them anyway, which of course they would. But your average player base will have a huge advantage over others if they pay.

No, you should stay away from this garbage. I played a little at launch and i guess it was ok. Just ok though. Untill it become somewhat popular and the bullshit happened. I reinstalled it a few times over the years and it saw it got worse and worse. Always uninstalled after about 10 matches. For the same reason i uninstalled now. I need something explained. First you should know i am not a complete noob player. Infact i am a descent gamer to say the least, skillwise that is. I do research before i play and make sure that atleast i kinda know what i'm doing before going in a match. Ok that being said. I reinstalled the game again today and played 10 rounds. How is it possible that even in the lowest beginner ranks people completely wipe the floor with me? I researched a descent deck before going in even. I did not stand a single chance. All my enemies had perfect counters exactly at the time they needed it. How? This is a fucking card game..... What is a card game? Its a game based on luck and randomness when you draw cards and then strategizing with what you got. How can every one of those 10 enemies with different decks have perfect counters the entire match to every move i make.....? In the beginner league.....! Can anyone explain this? If not, i'm sorry but thats just bullshit, thats cheating. Can someone get a lucky draw a few times? Sure ofcourse, its a card game after all. But its impossible to have constant lucky draws an entire match, let alone that 10 people have that.... Statistically thats impossible. Garbage p2w game with a bad anti cheat.

Lack of complexity is the MAIN reason i bounced off HS. Compared to MTG, it felt like kids playing Collect-A-Family kinda game. The major downside being the lack of alternative win-cons, other than "killing" your opponent. There are so many ways to win in MTG... If they've added complexity, it's all the better. I might give it a spin again, since MTGA is getting a bit stale.
@Avusui
@Avusui 2 месяца назад
Brother..what on God's green earth might you be talking about lol. I play MTG and standard is absolutely in shambles, alternate win cons? You only win with combat in the last few metas maybe mill if your opponent is brain dead or ping dmg but for the most part the amount of win cons are the same as HS. If you're talking about Modern the meta is even more determined meaning there isnt much room for something new to win. The only possible thing I think you're talking about when talking about multiple win conditions is table top magic or commander. Which tabletop could be wild or classic for HS and commander is basically a different game. Complexity is only a thing in magic when you lack knowledge on the meta or maybe you go play commander where you have to just play smart regardless, MTGA is an actual scam that has an algorithm to make sure you don't win too much or lose too much. I wouldn't even waste my time on that, if you want to play magic online play MTGO or try HS again, they're literally in the same state atm.
