People that say somethings woke, is literally cringe. Lost all credibility with your argument and after reading your argument sound like you made half of those up, and I just wanna know who hurt you so bad to make you so bitter
@Arianooo Amari Yes, in terms of sales. However, im speaking more along the lines of public appreciation regarding winning the awards it deserved. It was totally over shadowed by the over hyped Elden Ring. GOW too (which was good but still not better than FW) At the very least the game was visually more compelling than both but still, it was overlooked. Thats what i meant.
@@SnoopVee Elden Ring looked no where near as good as this but Elden Ring was without doubt the better games, new IP as well, first Horizon ZD won plenty.
Anyone else gonna back to the base game on ps5 it totally feels better even in non dlc areas the patch pushed ps5 I’m sure of it. Finally brushing off the ps4 chains.
Yeah I think this video is completely wrong. They changed almost everything in the game. The physics got turned up to 11. The trees break the wall smash. This person probably didn't even play the game and made a video
I love the boat. It's like driving a old school ship, because it looks like ship's wheel. And it has the speed of a motorboat🚤 . It's awesome to traverse in while looking at the wonderful environment and backdrops.
I'm prolly gonna finish the base game over the weekend and then get Burning Shores next week. Once again, Horizon holds a place as one of my favorite open world adventure games of all time!
This genuinely looks unbelievable. The first Horizon already looked gorgeous, might I say perfect, when it released on the PS4 in 2017 - yet somehow this sequel's expansion looks even better. I am genuinely floored and will be looking to only buy this game when I eventually get a PS5 or get it for PC. Something about the graphical beauty of Horizon is so encapsulating: for me, alongside the soundtrack, it has always made for an immensely visceral experience.
Balanced mode with stable 40fps on a 4k/120hz monitor is just beatiful... 40fps definetly feel waaay better than 30 even tho there is just a 10fps difference it feels way better
@Purring Bluzzmuffin lol silly gamers its most beautifull game ever esp with how good c1 motion is with true motion so 30 fps with essentially frame insertion making it look and feel 60 on c1 its stunning,
The dlc is pretty dang good so far and the one new fighting machine is awesome and aggressive love it.. i had some bugs tho i had to close and restart the game 11 times because the missions wouldnt progress.. grapichs look amazing, is it next gen idk it looks the same to me just more crisp, either way it wasnt a bad looking game to begin with.. this is a must play dlc for anybody who love the base game🙏🏾
Also what you're not told - the burning Shores DLC map is ⅓ the map of forbidden West. But there's less than ⅓ of the things to do. 80% of it is under water...none of which you need to do anything with...at all, except to collect waterwing parts. The waterwing is also only really used for one thing and that's just story progression other than that you really don't need to use it... over 90 per-cent of the map is pretty much empty with nothing to do. If you have all your equipment up the par from forbidden West you can run through this game in about five hours without needing the pick up a single new item. It's just a really long side quest with a few...literally a few sub quests. So if you don't have a PS5 don't worry you're not really missing all that much you can look up the ending on a video on RU-vid it's not really going to spoil anything. It's a 4 hr sub story progression on the Quin.
Anyone with a PS5 should play HFW and the expansion to truly appreciate the power and graphics of the new system from Sony. The first lava pit I saw bubbling up in front of me, I had to take an iPhone video, in awe of it. One of my gaming buddies couldn’t stop playing it and completed the expansion in 2 days time. Love the GIANT frog machines! Guerrilla-games, congratulations on a “Best of the Best” PS5 game experiences, from lifelong gamers like me! I’ll be there for your next one!
DLC is solid. My biggest complaint is I was hoping they'd change is so we still can equip 2 valor surges that can be swapped at anytime but we still can only have 1. With the extra skills from this DLC we now have 18 valors and we can only equip 1 at a time like come on.
@@justinvolschenk4116 I get that, and its kinda crappy, but I also don't think its unexpected. The same is happening with C2077, and the same thing happened back in the 7G/8G with Dragon Age Inquisition. I've long been an advocate for simply 'clearing the development pipeline' during generational transitions. PS5 launched in 2020, anything less than 50% complete should have been fully migrated to the PS5 at that time. These decade long console cycles combined with 3-4 years of transition cause more harm.
imo the series S is even holding this "next gen" back across many 3rd party titles. PS4 in 2023 blows my mind considering you can pick up the 5 at local stores now.
@Matt Stein it's a hard sell to consider the S part of the current gen. It's only a marginal improvement over the Ps4 Pro. Even the older 1X bests the S. The S is cheap to produce and has a small footprint. Thats all the pluses it has.
@@a2raya772 a great one as well, but there arent any games yet. Only Fortnite. And the performance of the engine has yet to be seen. Show me an unreal engine game that runs at 1600p and 60fps on ps5.
@@eetdarichmarx7423 thats ps5 issue, system isn't powerful enough in general. Not saying horizon doesn't look good. But you also have other games look great. RE engine also great. Unity engine as well
Ngl I've been just wandering around flying, and boating around just staring at stuff, wishing I was at the beach 😂 I've yet to see a ps5 game that makes me go... Woh, these gfx are incredible. Just the sheer expansiveness is impressive. The textures are phenomenal.
This is a taste of what's next for either the 3rd game or a brand new IP. It's not meant to reshape Forbidden West on all grounds. Its enough forwhat it is.....for now. I expect bigger and better things in their next project.
The biggest mistake that this particular franchise keeps making is releasing next to or slightly before even more gigantic titles like god of war Ragnarok .Dont get me wrong. I played the first game back when I was a Sony pony and it was fantastic but this game was overshadowed completely by an even larger franchise again! it’s a fantastic franchise that just releases at the wrong time not to say it’s not a juggernaut it is but very few games can compete with God of war and the like in terms of sales.
It wasn’t released near god of war. It was released near breath of the wild and forbidden west near elden ring. Both quite different games than Horizon to me and it sells extremely well. GoW isn’t even like FW soo 🤷🏻♂️ Delaying it would be more of a mistake.
@@EnigmalakeI re checked that is correct but regardless it came out after Ragnarok and it got destroyed sales wise but I love this franchise but alas I won’t support Sony and haven’t for both ergonomic and personal reasons
@@mattmanley7118 FW over 10 million. Ragnarok 11 million. God of war has also been around for a lot longer. You could just wait until one of the franchises goes on sale. Or heck FW is on PlayStation’s service. Sounds like you just have it out for Sony and they do have their issues but you can look at any big company and find concerns and faults
The DLC is really great however there's a lot of bugs glitches and contextual Poppins that happened in this whether you're on performance or Fidelity mode which just goes to show that they really didn't need to make this a PS5 exclusive... and to be quite Frank the biggest showcase that they were talking about was this apparent Cloud technology but yet the best cloud technology I've seen in the game so far as when you go to chase after that Zenith guy for the first time and you see his ship surrounded by all those artificial clouds but you can clearly see are digitized and are meant to look that way.... I mean it looks absolutely beautiful like some sort of religious painting scene of people ascending into the heavens but that's all it is... the lava looks subpar at best breath of the Wild on the Nintendo switch made their lava look better... 1 new enemy...the rest are basically apex variance with their aggro stats upped. And a couple of new movesets that could have been given to us and pretty much do look and act like last-minute additions. And I can guarantee you with certainty that that Horace fight could have been decently done on a PS4 Pro
Let it go my guy.....we all knew it was going to happen, eventually PS4 support would come to an end. Its been 3 years, and the PS5 is widely available now.....its time Sony and other developers cut the strings to PS4 and move on. Development for PS4 plus optimizations make games take longer to come out and people are tired of waiting for games just because devs want to spend time getting games to run on old outdated hardware. Its not like they were going to release it on PS5 and PS4 pro only.....hell they don't even make the pro anymore, so if it did come to PS4 it meant base ps4, PS4 pro and PS5 ......thats too much hardware to optimize for when they want people to get a PS5 anyway. I hope that GT7 was the last of the cross generation games and now Sony devs can focus solely on the PS5. That may sound harsh to the PS4 and PS4 pro owners but the only thing i can advice you is to get a PS5 and you won't have to worry about whether it could run on last generation nearly a decade old hardware.
The DLC is pretty good so far, but I'm really disappointed that really only 1 new machine was added. The waterwing is basically a reskin so the only normal enemy added was the bilegut.
Crazy that this is the standard of ps5 only games and in a few weeks Final Fantasy 16 arrives. Meanwhile xbox can't get a cartoon shooter to run at anything better than 30fps and baldurs game 3 can't even run on the consoles. No wonder ps5 sales are up 400% globally and xbox series consoles have flatlined at a lower number than last gen.
Definitely looks more true next gen than the normal game but some textures look little flat but a minor issue since almost everything looks extremely good
We got SpiderMan 2, and Final Fantasy 16 coming later this year and both are gonna be incredible as PlayStation 5 is gonna have some amazing games over the next few year’s especially since many are gonna PS5 only
It looks so good that I'm wondering how the game will perform on PC when it eventually arrives, the port will need to be good because there's some insanely good graphics in here, hopefully Sony will be able to use Nixxes for the port by then instead of using Iron Galaxy, who have messed up two big games on PC (Arkham Knight back in 2015 and Last of Us Part 1).
I also think all ps5 games should focus on a 1440 full screen and full texture resolution at 40 fps 120hz with also a 30fps mode using fsr to achieve 4k resolution this why I think your gonna get a more balanced and visually more stunning world.
Burning shores is an open world 4k game running at 60fps. The facial animations, environment, and performance are so excellent that I don't know why would any games need to go past this level of graphics other than adding RT to the game. Which I'm not usually impressed with in general.
Played the entire forbidden west game, everything there is to do, except for singularity on my ps4pro 2 weeks ago, bought a ps5 and the burning shores dlc, ported my game, and saves over to my ps5, finished singularity on my ps5, saved, turned the game off, and reloaded, and I still haven't gotten the call from sylens...
Best looking game on ps5 as of now (August 2023) spiderman 2 don't look like its going to be takeing that title ... looks like we'll have to wait for last of us 3 or gears 6 ... maybe even the next horizon game to take it up a level.
Everything that I have personally found wrong what the burning Shores DLC Texture Poppins right in the beginning intro regardless to Performance or fidelity Texture Poppins throughout random parts of the game including the cutscenes both in performance and fidelity Other random contextual Poppins on both performance on fidelity Certain parts of mountains just not loading it all while flying both in performance and fidelity Waterwing and Sunwing getting stuck in areas where they shouldn't including in midair mainly in Fidelity mode Swimming controls have actually seemed to downgrade rather than upgrade... I'm guessing this is due to the fact that they included the ability to use the waterwing... both in performance and Fidelity mode Out Of Reach items and chest some of which spawn within mountains and rocks and areas that you just cannot get them both on Fidelity and performance Treasure Chest just floating in the air on the beach in both performance and fidelity Enemies that do not fall and continue to stand upright after killing them in both performance and fidelity Sometimes enemies will be dead but still have the tiniest little bit of red still on their life bar showing mainly seen on performance mode Infidelity mode when flying up above some water a good few feet from the shore out to the deeper body of water kind of looks like a honeycomb tile design... almost making it look like one of those Halo digitized images You can only die the Quinn outfits with the black tie dye which is kind of a big loss as the Quinn outfits really are and all that appealing It's not really showcasing the ps5 hardware..m it's showing that in 2023 we can still have the same issues in a DLC as Skyrim had in its full game, how many yrs ago. I don't care what anybody says but this game plays and looks like it could have easily been released on the PS4 Pro as well
Rachet and clank, Demon souls, callisto, Spider-man (3 titles soon) and the last of us part 1 are all great looking titles. Two of those take a very beefy PC to enjoy the PS5 level of fidelity. I think they held back the last few years and with Silent Hill 2 and other unreal 5 games around the corner I am unsure what your expectation is? Each generation is becoming a smaller visual leap as we see a million polygons pretty much the same as 2 million. We wont have the jump from PS1 to PS2 or 3 ever again.
Next Gen only Final Fantasy 16, and SpiderMan 2 is coming later this year, and there’s many many more PS5 only Next Gen titles on the Horizon as the Future is super Bright for PlayStation 5
@@An_Evangelist_Who_Loves_Jesus what the fuck are you talking about the game was built for cross gen even if the dlc is ps5 only doesn't mean it's "pushing" the ps5
Hm, dunno...I mean, Forbidden West looked great already. Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see that much of a difference, tbh. Yeah, maybe some textures are of higher quality, draw distance is a bit more stretched out etc but nothing major or "groundbreaking". Pop-in is still very noticable, too.
Those seconds when testing the loading speed went really slow 😂 I took the time and it was double the time, why did you make it slower to make it seem it loaded the game faster?
I think the next step is either a new engine like ue 5 or a complete overhaul of there own engine as draw distances and textures still look foggy plastic and pop in that ue 5 doesn't have issues with . This should be easy achievable with ditching the ps4 hardware .
@@naterod Decima is Gorilla Games in house engine. It was created for Killzone Shadow Fall (PS4 launch game). Kojima just licensed it for Death Stranding.
so Ratchet and Clank using the ps5 ssd to load up portals quickly don't count and it's a really good realistic stylized carton game also doesn't count? Returnal doesn't count, gran 7.... there are other games that are next-gen that not just use graphics but use other aspects of the ps5 to push it
@@jcdenton41100 i agree but same is true and even more so here have u seen these enviroments and particle coming off mechdinos when shoot em and kill em its crazy
The game looks great but I’m 80 percent through it and it doesn’t look like it’s pushing anything outside of what the base game already was. My guess is that they just locked it to the PS5 ro try and incentivize PS4 owners looking to play it to finally upgrade to a PS5. It’s kind of a dick move really, but sometimes that’s just business. At least the base game is a free PS5 upgrade for 4 owners. I was surprised that they left FW up on Plus though, considering you can purchase and play just the DLC if you have access to the base game on Plus. That would have been a prime time to sell more copies of FW for people who wanted to check out the DLC, similar to how Spiderman is coming off the service, no doubt, to push sales as we lead up to the sequel this year. Either way, the dlc is excellent.
I don't think so, as that limit sales. They probably did not want to sink time into optimization for a console that is obsolete. A full title is worth the time, but many people aren't going to pick up the DLC and those with the disposable income would probably be on PS5.
@@mandrews6282 I empathize, but they are lucky to have the core story. It’s been a nearly a decade since the ps4 dropped and I think it’s fair enough. I’m sure this will eventually come to PC like the first but I guess if you don’t update in 9+ years that it’s unlikely they will have a gaming pc. I hope they are able to upgrade and enjoy :)
I already finished the DLC. Visuals are 100/100, aside from pop in while flying. Incredible looking game. But I was dissatisfied with the story unfortunately. Horizon is great in many ways, including the story. But at the same time it feels.... blah at the same time. I can't really put my finger on why. With the DLC, I was disappointed because nothing new story wise was added. It was the same villain, same story. Just a little more of the same tacked on. I was hoping for something better. And the new character also didn't have anything interesting. Basically the same character as Aloy, and no interesting character dynamic between them. None of it is "bad". A lot of it is good. Some if it is great. But at the same time I'm losing interest. Odd.
@@rippersedge Unfortunately, yes. To literally no one's surprise, they make Aloy and Seyka a couple at the end, or at least try to. I was pretty disappointed they didn't do something else. Something unexpected and interesting instead of doing exactly as expected. Also I feel like I'm not the only one sick of everything needing lesbians now. That by itself is getting rather annoying with how much it's being done. Horizon has always had "woke" elements. A little more so in Forbidden West. But it was always subtle enough to be overshadowed by the interesting story and world. But I think they went a little too far in this DLC. The villian is just another Zenith. But extra cartoonishly evil because rich capitalists bad. And the blatent totally foreseeable gay romance was an eye roll when they actually followed through with it. A rather underwhelming DLC to me.
The lava does not look good I guess from a person that doesn't know anything about its perspective but for somebody who works with graphical stuff for a living that is absolutely bass and terrible is a flat one layer image with a secondary moving image on top of it with a third layer added which is used to change the transparency.... and then they just added a fog effect over it anybody with about a half hour's worth of Photoshop experience and some CAD could throw this together... The lava in breath of the Wild for the Nintendo switch running on its seven-year-old Tegra to processor showed lava effects better than this.. previous Zelda games like Twilight Princess have shined the lava of this game. I have a fake fireplace in my home underglow that comes up from the fake fireplace from the light rotating around on the inside to make the wood look like it's burning gives off more of a lava affect than this does.
Pushing the system?? No.. it’s the beginning of the ps5 we’re no where near pushing the hardware and if we are that’s sad… It’s absolutely beautiful and runs like a dream but this better not be the best next gen gaming can ever offer..
Also they need to stop with the men are bad guys or idiots and all women are awesome and bad asses and also making every female PlayStation mascot a lesbian.. wtf
even though the dlc and the base game is still one of the best looking games out there, when i heard they made the dlc ps5 exclusive i was expecting something extraordenary... But what we got could have eazely been running on a ps4 just like the base game. And the fact they used the epic battle as a reason for ps5 exclusivity is funny as hell. god of war 3 on ps3 had more impressive battles and even full levels... What a joke. And holy shit this game is infested with popins.. something mark cerny said we wouldt see on a ps5... also a joke. With that said, the dlc is worth it. there are some amazing looking places to visit. But dont expect any special new gameplay or ps5 features...
It's amazing a ton more ray tracing even more detail and realistic clouds? And I'm pretty sure that resolution mode isn't locked at 30 fps it runs way to smoothly
They should delete this video.. go play the game pre patch and post patch.. because they're sooo wrong. This game has increased details everywhere. Increased physics everywhere. So much more.
