Well, a rather poorly hidden delay just to time the Steam release of this game with Masters of the Air release, all while the game was out on GoG for days, that did them no favors. This is going to be a blemish on their resumè for quite some time to come. That said, I think all of us always understood the game would come out as EA, with end goal being some redone effects & visuals and one or two improvements over the original. So not a total 4K re-imagined 8K super duper re-master instant satisfaction. It's Microprose, owned by an OG gamer that wants these games and sells them almost at a loss (so far), unlike typical randoms that just clicks and drags Unity Assets around with the mouse and pushes it out like most of the 50+ fresh game releases on Steam, they'll figure this out I'm sure.
The collision detection is still dire and results in far too many collisions. If anything it seems worse. The amount of crashes with fighters has increased and formations still can't turn without losing 4 ships. So far this is a minor graphical overhaul at best. Still, it's no surprise in this day and age, I don't expect quality.
Game is absolute trash and a slap in the face of anyone who anticipated this release. I was expecting a modernized (controls, menus, QOL, better visuals, better AI, fixed bugs, ...) version of this, back then, great game, but now I wonder what these inept, useless, lazy, cash-grabbing devs even did at all. It's basically the old game! What have they been "working on" for all these years since it was announced? This is a pathetic, sad example of what is wrong with the modern gaming industry and there's absolutely no excuse. Oh, in before: "But it is early access!" Yeah, right. If anyone seriously thinks this game will suddenly get all the things mentioned above when it didn't receive anything as of yet, you need a serious reality check. Sick and tired of scams like this.
Cash grab? Come on my dude. A small developer got you for a little more than the price of a gallon of milk and a box of cereal. Think of it as an investment into their next project. It's not Take Two or Rockstar.
@@inkfan7238 You calling it "investment" doesn't change the fact that this "redux" is a complete and utter joke that is hardly worth the money they're asking for. I do not care if a game is 1$ or 100$ - I care about the game being good and not a lacking disappointment pushed out just in time with a TV show coming on air to push sales. If that small developer builds the new game with the same idea of quality control, I know not to touch it. Great investment on their end, really...
I think you got the timelines / games a bit mixed up. What you're showing from 00:10 - 00:29 is B-17 Flying Fortress: World War II Bombers in Action from 1992, not the original Mighty 8th from 2000, which the redux version reduxes.
